Dear Monkeys,

A few days ago, I received a very nice email from Klaas wondering if I was OK or what? for she was concerned and said some other Monkeys missed me too!

Thank you, it warms my hurt that I am missed and also thought about. Another thing, is that I have no family and if I'd every turn up missing, I am happy with the thought everyone would have monkeys on their backs finding me.

was on a downer Re: the lack of progress with missing Donna Jou, the we had the cA fires.. so I rolled into a PTSD insteading of cocooning like I do... I went into hypernation. Am back now..so thank you very much!

The writers strike if long, will hurt the crew members. I had to refinance my home with the strike went 6 mos... some had to sell, some had sheriff's sales; so divorce, maybe business that rely on the industry went under... tourism of LA went down.

Now that I am disability pension from the Motion Picture Industry... we, retirees, have not had a raise in the last 10 yrs.. However if there is a certain amt. of profit in the Montion Picture Industry then we get 2 addl month's checks... never guaranteed... the retirees like electricians, grips, camera, teachers were hurt by the Writer's 6 mos. strike and thus it affected their pension and came in much less.

Crew members don't get residuals personally as do Writers, Producers, and Actors. We get residuals that go into our Motion Picture Fund for Health Insurance, Welfare and Pension.

Those crew members having a job now where the shows are written and will film maybe a month more... the have to get an x amt. of hours each 6 mos to qualify for Health Insurance the next 6 mos. This will hurt they deeply. Also hours for pension credit will not be had.

I had to refinance my home during the Writers strike... the beginning of a downfall when also having to refri it for medicale for my mom and for me... I know people who lost businesses... mom and pop stores... the city wil loose 80M a day..our city wil loose money for police, fire from the reduction in tariffs in hotels when the strike slows down a tourist down.

A concept of putting films on discs was being discussed in 1988... they should have started a concept there that would be adjusted as the new technology come in... the frame work already in.

I was Bus. Mgr.Agent of one of the locals in Hollywood for the IATSE for 5 yrs. (mid to late 70s) we had some my age who were already into the newer tech..foward thinkers... esp at the end of the 70's. WE got our foots in the door and so it has been easier for the lower end of the caste system... the crew members to have more of a say that the more higher ones in the caste system that are now striking and in 6 mos. the actors will join them

Missed all of you Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I'm having more success finding the owners by posting avatars here than in the Lounge. I think some folks just don't browse there. I hope no one minds if I put them here as well as in the Christmas avatar thread. Let me know if it's a problem for anyone, but since this is a musing thread, it's what I'm currently "musing" about.  Laughing Here's a couple that haven't been found yet:

CUZ:

( Cuz, you have more options in the Lounge )

That dog photo is hilarious!

But this makes me soooo angry!

S.C. Mother Who Claimed Carjacker Killed Her Son Charged With His Murder

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,308377,00.html

I know there is a thread for this somewhere but did want folks to know because it left people thinking some car jacker might get in your car just to smother your kid with a pillow!  That story stunk from the beginning and unfortunately it may be just what it appeared to be.
We shall see.  That poor little boy!
