So Peterson can go on national television for months disparaging Stacy's reputation and spewing all his pompous bile, knowing full well his right to remain silent, and no one will be able to challenge what he has said?

Stacy Peterson's Brother Back in Prison
July 2, 2012

The sex offender brother of Drew Peterson's missing fourth wife often attended the month-long 2010 hearsay hearing held to set the ground rules for evidence in the disgraced ex-cop's murder trial.

But it looks like Stacy's brother Yelton Cales won't be making it to the Will County court trial itself, as he was hauled off to prison last week to serve a three-year sentence.

Cales, 32, was locked up in Stateville Correctional Center Thursday. It was his fourth trip to prison. In the past Cales has done time for domestic battery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. This time Cales was sent away for driving with a revoked or suspended license.
 ::snipping2::
Cales' little sister Stacy Peterson mysteriously vanished in October 2007 and has yet to be found. The state police suspect Drew Peterson had a hand in her disappearance, but have yet to charge him with harming her.

Murder trial of Drew Peterson to begin later this month
Published July 06, 2012

 ::snipping2::
Jury selection is scheduled to begin July 23, with opening statements penciled in for one week later, on July 30. The trial had been delayed for more than two years as prosecutors and attorneys for the 58-year-old suspect clashed over the admissibility of key testimony, including a bathtub prosecutors describe as "the murder weapon."

"Yes, your honor," Peterson told Will County Judge Edward Burmila when asked if he was "comfortable" with the date. "I've been in solitary confinement for three years, your honor."

One challenge facing attorneys is empaneling a jury that either doesn't know about, or at least won't be influenced by the fact that Peterson is suspected in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. Both cases have gotten widespread publicity, thanks to Peterson's oddly gregarious nature in the face of suspicions and a Lifetime television movie starring Rob Lowe as Peterson. Defense attorneys concede that it may not be possible to find jurors who don't know about Stacy Peterson.

"There will be no mention … that she is dead, presumed dead, killed by the defendant or anything of the kind," Burmila ruled.

Jeff Ruby announces reward in Stacy Peterson disappearance
8:56 PM, Aug. 27, 2012

WEST END Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby stepped up his campaign to find the body of Stacy Peterson, whom he claims was killed by her ex-husband Drew Peterson.

Ruby substantially raised the reward for information leading to the whereabouts and recovery of Stacy Peterson, who has been missing since October 2007.

“I am bringing the reward up to $100,000 for information leading to the whereabouts of what’s left of the body of Stacy Peterson,” Ruby said. “We think somebody knows something but they were afraid to come forward and $100,000 quite frankly makes people get a little bit more brave.”

Prosecutor Will Decide Soon Whether Drew Peterson Faces New Charges
September 7, 2012 3:48 PM

CHICAGO (CBS) – The prosecutor who convicted Drew Peterson of killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, will decide in a couple of weeks whether he’ll charge Peterson in connection with the disappearance of his fourth wife.

Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow says he also plans to travel to Springfield to ask lawmakers to grant greater legal protections to women.

The prosecutor says there is undue insulation for husbands who kill their wives – legal protections that made prosecuting Peterson more difficult.
 ::snipping2::
Glasgow said Friday he’s waiting for the conclusion of another high-profile trial – the murder trial of Christopher Vaughn, who’s accused of killing his family — before convening investigators and prosecutors to discuss additional charges against Peterson. That could happen in the next couple of weeks.

Drew Peterson is considered a suspect in Stacy Peterson’s disappearance.

Drew Peterson defense team crumbles as new charges over wife Stacy may loom
September 26, 2012

Drew Peterson, the former Bolingbrook, Il., cop who was convicted of the first degree murder of third wife Kathleen Savio earlier this month, could face new charges over the disappearance of fourth wife Stacy Peterson. Radar Online reports today that a new witness has come forward that could produce new evidence that could be used to convict Drew Peterson in Stacy’s missing person case.
 ::snipping2::
According to the new issue of the National Enquirer on stands Thursday, it’s being reported that police have a new witness who claims Drew Peterson asked him to stalk Stacy Peterson because he suspected her of cheating on him. The witness is described as a “wannabe cop” and dropout from the policy academy who met Drew in a martial arts class.

The new witness clammed up when police began asking questions about the infamous blue barrel that Peterson carried from his home on the day Stacy went missing in October of 2007. Drew’s step-brother helped carry the barrel and believes Stacy Peterson’s body was hidden inside.

“Once they started questioning the witness about the blue barrel he flipped out”, the inside source said. “He immediately insisted that he needed a lawyer”.

This witness abruptly moved 1,000 miles away soon after Peterson was arrested in 2009 for Savio’s death. The source said, “He just bailed. Guilty people act like that”. State’s Attorney James Glasgow is said to be preparing a murder indictment and the witness may be offered some form of immunity for testifying against Drew Peterson.

Stacy Peterson, Five Years Later
October 29, 2012 2:20 PM

The family of Stacy Peterson passed a bittersweet milestone Sunday. Drew Peterson’s fourth wife went missing five years ago Sunday, sparking a series of events that made Drew Peterson a celebrity for a few moments, re-opened the investigation into the 2004 death of his third wife Kathleen Savio and his conviction in her murder, and hope from Stacy Peterson’s family that Drew Peterson will eventually be found guilty of what they (and much of the public) believe is her murder.

FBI, police search Hammel Woods for Stacy Peterson
Updated at 05:09 PM today

November 5, 2012 (SHOREWOOD, Ill.) (WLS) -- The day-long search in a Shorewood forest preserve by boat, with dogs and a helicopter on Monday was for Drew Peterson's missing wife, Stacy Peterson, according to law enforcement sources.

Stacy Peterson, 23, disappeared in Oct. 2007. She was Drew's fourth wife. Investigators previously tracked cell phone activity from Stacy's number to the Shorewood area about the time she was last seen.

The search on Monday in Hammel Woods is not believed to be linked to new information or specific tips and an Illinois State Police source said that they did not find a body.

The ISP was assisted on Monday by the FBI. Neither agency would speak officially about the operation-except to say it was part of an on-going criminal investigation.

Cops search Hammel Woods near Shorewood, Stacy Peterson’s sister at scene
November 5, 2012 4:50PM
Updated: November 5, 2012 5:12PM

The sister of convicted murderer Drew Peterson’s missing fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, appeared at Hammel Woods Monday afternoon, shortly after investigators scoured the 400-acre Will County forest preserve near Shorewood.

State police Capt. Michael Cooke confirmed detectives had searched the woods as part of an ongoing investigation, but would not comment further. The FBI helped in the search, which ended by 4 p.m.

Stacy Peterson’s sister, Cassandra Cales, arrived soon after the search was completed. She said she had heard about the search, but had not been called by authorities. Cales left a few minutes later without speaking to investigators.

Will County Forest Preserve police referred questions to the state police.

Illinois State Police spokeswoman Monique Bond said nothing unusual was found by investigators in the forest preserve. Investigators aren’t expected to return Tuesday.

A Plainfield Fire Department canine vehicle was also at the scene of Monday’s search.

I know there are techniques that could be used on DP to make him reveal what he did with Stacy.  Look at the wasted resources that continue to be used trying to find her.  Think about the anguish that her family is going through.  I realize we are a country of laws, but sometimes I just wish that the victims had as many rights as the perp.

State Cops & FBI Searching For Stacy Peterson in Hammel Woods

A helicopter, police dogs, state cops and federal agents were searching for missing mom Stacy Peterson in Hammel Woods Monday.

Federal agents and state cops searched through Hammel Woods forest preserve in Shorewood Monday looking for signs of missing mom Stacy Peterson.

A state police source confirmed that the operation—which included at least one helicopter and police dogs—was part of the search effort for the Bolingbrook mother, who disappeared in October 2007.

Weeks after Stacy vanished, state police officials named her husband, Drew Peterson, 58, as the sole suspect in the investigation the then-23-year-old's disappearance.

Peterson has never been charged with harming Stacy, but was convicted in September of murdering his previous wife, Kathleen Savio.

 ::snipping2::

Prior to the search, the state police told forest preserve officials they were doing nothing more in Hammel Woods than training, said Bruce Hodgdon, the spokesman for the Will County Forest Preserve.

Joan Hyde, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Chicago office, confirmed that agents were in Hammel Woods "working with ISP as part of an ongoing criminal investigation."

The state police source said the operation was not prompted by a recent tip or breakthrough in the investigation, but was merely one of a number of periodic searches. These searches are conducted in areas that investigators believe Stacy's body may have been left, and Shorewood contains a number of them.

Peterson's stepbrother, Thomas Morphey, has said Peterson enlisted him in an effort to frame former Shorewood resident Scott Rossetto for Stacy's murder. Peterson believed Stacy and Rossetto were carrying on romantically behind his back, Morphey and other sources have said.

Officials have said they found cell phone activity from Stacy's cell phone in the Shorewood area around the time she disappeared.

I really wish Stacy Peterson could be found, first and foremost for her and her family, and she could be laid to rest.  After that, I think finding Stacy might provide some forensics and help wipe the smirk off Drew's face.     I'm afraid Drew had enough knowledge and advance planning (and some help!) to dispose of Stacy, so finding her will be next to impossible. But it sure would be great if she could be found.
