In depth report posted today...nothing new though......
SNIPPED from the link :

To the morgue

At 7:50 p.m., a skiff carrying detectives and a deputy coroner landed at the marina. A coroner's van backed up to the skiff. A deputy coroner and investigator carried a white body bag from the skiff and loaded it in the van. The drooping ends of the body bag showed that the remains were only about two feet long.

Coroner: Autopsy on human remains inconclusive

Associated Press - May 21, 2009 4:44 PM ET

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - The Will County coroner says results are inconclusive from an autopsy performed on human remains found along the Des Plaines River.

Coroner Patrick O'Neil said in a news release Thursday that his office is unable to conclude the identity, race or sex of the skeletal remains. O'Neil says an expedited DNA analysis by the Illinois State Police Forensic Crime Laboratory will likely take about two weeks.

Members of a cleanup crew found the remains Wednesday afternoon. The discovery prompted speculation the remains were related to the local long-running, high-profile missing persons cases of Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic.

The coroner says shreds of blue jeans and a small amount of U.S. currency were found along with the remains.

I don't know...Would Drew dump Stacy's body with money in her pockets?  He seems too selfish for that no matter how little the amount might be..

Autopsy reveals little about river body
May 21, 2009 4:08 PM | 107 Comments | UPDATED STORY

An autopsy today on badly decomposed human remains found along the Des Plaines River revealed little about who the person was and how she or he died.

The Will County coroner's office said DNA testing that may determine the body's identity will take at least two weeks.

There has been speculation the body could be Stacy Peterson, who disappeared from her Bolingbrook home in October 2007,  or Lisa Stebic, the Plainfield mother who went missing in April of that year.

While the autopsy indicated that the person has been dead several months or more, it "did not reveal any significant information in reference to the identity, race or sex" of the person, the coroner's office said.

"Positive identification may hinge on forensic DNA analysis" through the state police crime lab, Coroner Patrick K. O'Neil said in a statement.

The remains consisted of a rib cage, spinal column and partial left and right femur bones. The remains were found with shreds of blue jeans containing a small amount of U.S. currency, according to the coroner's office.

IMO NOT Stacy. Drew is just so cocky all the time. He knows she will never be found. Hell...even after autopsy we do not even have a sex ... this could even be Jessie Ross http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=582.0 or Chicago Johnny (Spira) http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=1872.0 or any of the umpteen others males/females missing from the area and/or beyond... I feel bad for the families that have to wait this out. I want to know NOW! Just imagine how they all feel

It might be Stacy Peterson. According to this article - http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/05/channahon-des-plaines-river-body-recovery-illinois-state-police.html - the blue barrel seems pretty interesting. But how many young women - and even men - from Will, Dupage or even Cook County could that body be? Sadly, hundreds. And given it's proximity to Interstate 55 .. it might not even be someone from Illinois. I wish this world was a better place.

One interresting point.  The article says the body/remains had what was left of jeans on.  Stacy went missing the end of October 2007 an the weather would have been cold.  There are many photos of Stacy wearing jeans.  Just an observation.

JVM is reporting it was a torso only... no head, arms, or legs.
Praying that it will give some family closure... but it could really be anyone.
The blue barrel is interesting, but it was less than a mile away and might not be related.

Very true Klaas. Lisa Stebic had a family member on JVM's show earlier and said that early on the day that she went missing, she was wearing jeans too. This will be a long wait for many people

More Evidence Discovered …

It is being reported that more evidence was found Saturday from the Des Plaines River near Channahan, Ill where sources are saying it is related to a body found on the river bank on Wednesday.

CBS 2 has learned that Illinois State Police recovered more evidence from the Des Plaines River that sources say is related to a body found on the river bank on Wednesday.

That body was a human torso missing a head, arms and legs below the knees.

Police would not confirm that the items found Saturday were bones from the skeleton.

The additional evidence was found Saturday afternoon. State police would not confirm what was found Saturday or if the items were related to the remains found earlier. According to media sources, the evidence found might have been a leg bone.

Chemical plant worker Jeff Triplett says he escorted state police and two workers from the Will County Coroner’s office through a brush and back into the woods along the bank of the Des Plaines River…

Tera Williams: What did they find…
Jeff Triplett: They found a human leg bone… they said they found it on the side of the river…
They had their forensics kit and they all had their laptops and they were bagging it up.

It is being highly speculated that the remains found earlier this week in the Des Plaines River might be those of either missing Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic. Both of whom went missing in 2007. Although there are others that have gone missing with less media attention that are not so high-profile in the area as well. 26 year old Bradley Olsen and 45 year old John Spira have also both been missing since 2007.

Bradley Olsen, 26, of Maple Park and John Spira, 45, of St. Charles each has been missing since 2007. Susan Olsen, Bradley Olsen’s mother, hopes when the remains are identified, “one of our … families will have closure.”

Her son was last seen about 2 a.m. Jan. 20, 2007, at Bar One in DeKalb. DeKalb police have said he arrived at the bar with some friends late Jan. 19.

“My thoughts and prayers are with all the families,” Susan Olsen said. “It’s unfortunate we have to go through more grueling waiting.”

Spira, 45, last was seen Feb. 23, 2007, at Universal Cable Construction near West Chicago, which Spira co-owned. A fire in September 2007 totaled the business.

Hi Blonde - yeah that's the first thing that came to mind, the photos of Stacy wearing jeans.  I did look for photos of Lisa Stebic but didn't find any where I could tell if she wore jeans also.

Forgot to add the rest.  Kids went for candy, husband was at home, said she was picked up by someone, and was wearing jeans.

Memorial Day 2009 … Remember & Honor Our Brave who Have Served and Sacrificed for Your Freedoms

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2009/05/25/memorial-day-2009-remember-honor-our-brave-who-have-served-and-sacrificed-for-your-freedoms/

Quote
On this Memorial Day please remember to give thanks and honor those who have laid down their lives in the ultimate sacrifice to protect our liberty and freedom.

To often in the United States we look for heroes in the wrong places or we use the term hero when it should never be. These individuals who have died to protect our way of life are and always will be true, American Heroes.

May everyone have a safe and happy Memorial Day ... Please remember to say a prayer and thank those who have laid down their lives for us.
