http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pertinent

It's something I've seen and not acted on since the new format....the intro on a new thread has the word 'pertenant'....spell check lets it through, but it really should be spelled 'pertinent'....can it be fixed?  Just being a pita...no offense to and should not be confused with our Pita!!!

Teen Stabs Would-Be Kidnapper With Pencil, Gets Away Unharmed
Tuesday , November 20, 2007

 TUCKER, Ga. —

A 14-year-old girl used a pencil to ward off two men who tried to kidnap her Monday on her way home from dance practice, WGCL is reporting.

When the men tried to grab her, she used a pencil to stab on of the men in the arm, police said.

Click here to see the WGCL report.

"I'm glad that she just didn't become a victim and let them take her," the girl's mother told WGCL.

The girl did not suffer any serious injuries

Is your hand getting tired, Lala's?  Wink

Dear Santa,
Please bring Lala's an ergonimically designed desk pad. She's been furiously writing for years and apparently the monkeys can't behave long enough for her to stop! I fear Carpel Tunnel!

BT, you have become Sockmonkey Santa...there is no room under that tree for my presents...I guess I need a little red wagon...I bet that Muffy gets some of my stuff too...she's hiding over there thinking no one sees her.

Klaas, the tree looks great!  Everyone does, all dressed up for Christmas.  I just got an e-mail that made me think of the Monkeys:

A different kind of recipe:
It's one part dedication, a sprinkling of outrage, and a generous dose of optimism swirled with creativity. It's a pinch of persistence mixed with an ounce of courage. It's a cupful of attitude and a crisp slice of activism. It's a generous serving of YOU, and it makes a world of difference.

Thank you for standing alongside me in the kitchen and serving up a better world. I'm so thankful that, like me, you believe in what we can achieve together.

This is snipped in several places to "generalize" it.  It's actually from Greenpeace, but the message that I gleened from it applies to all who are standing together, keeping each other strong, to make the world a better place.  Something to be thankful for.
