Hi SarahD,

I'm doing home improvements too.

I live in an apartment, so often times the landlady pays for repairs. The manager, Grigor, painted my kitchen cabinets Cranberry Punch. He sanded and cleaned and took three days to paint. They are gorgeous and I love red.

Like Lala's said, "The only thing with home improvement projects is they tend to multiply." Lala's speaks the truth.

Next, I hired Grigor to paint my front door inside and outside. The color is called Cottage Red (darker than the kitchen), About a month ago, they were filming something across the street. The crew made a fake front door on the building across the street and I ran out to find out what color it was.

Since Grigor was going to paint the front door, I decided it was time for me to change the locks as they are very troublesome. Instead of unlocking the deadbolt first and then the door knob, it only worked doing the reverse.

I was lost in Rompage True Value Hardware. I don't go to Home Depot or OSH because there is no one to help me. They had about a million door knobs. I had no clue. I went back home to consult with Grigor. He said to get a combo pack of a door knob and a dead bolt. I had to buy another thingie because my door knob is five inches from the door frame. The combo pack cost $60 and the thingie was $20. I went with a Schlage product. It took Grigor many hours to figure out how to install the locks with all their little complexities. But he did it.

I like Schlage because it is German. A schlage is a hit ... like these ten schlages are on the top of the hit parade. In German, it is pronounced shlag-eh. I was really surprised to find out in America is it pronounced shlayg. Anyway, I'm drifting.

Next, I want to do the kitchen floor with 12" square self stick Armstrong tiles but I can't find the right color.

I recently spent a lot of money on frames and matts so that is a project that has been sitting here for two months.

I have a lot of ideas.

Love, Louise

Pop-ups seem to be way down have there been adjustments made?

Nope.  None at all. Same as it has been for months.

Dugga,

You suggested that I use Internet Explorer to access Scared Monkeys. I found a thingie there that enables one to completely stop the popups. It makes a little noise to indicate that a popup is trying to get me.

I got my livingroom all painted today.  Tomorrow the dining room and the hallway.  We built our new home 8 years ago, so I thought it was time for fresh coat of paint inside.

Anyone else doing home improvement projects?

The only thing with home improvement projects is they tend to multiply.  Once you get the living room done, the dining room looks bad and then it needs to be done and then the kitchen begins to need a spruce up...we did our bathroom this summer and now I am so wanting to redo the kitchen..it never ends.  Hope your projects turn out well.

So true.  I did the dining room today (and the front hallway).  Tomorrow I am doing the kitchen.  It's been a very busy long weekend.  I'm getting really sore, but it looks so good I don't mind the work.

LouiseVargas,  I've always been afraid of red when doing paint jobs.  I'll be it looks gorgeous though.

My painting this weekend has been Mexican Sand (a very deep tan) and Adrift (a nice blue color).   I'll be glad when it's done and I can get back to my computer.

Klaas:

Do you think it's possible to post a link on the front

page to the picture of the body in the bushes?

I came to the Forum in search for truth.

My first assignment:

Read and Interpret Shango...

I did as I was told.

I did hours of research in order to solve

the puzzle, and I put it together...

It fits, snuggly, in my opinion,

with the happenings

during May 30th until June 12.

I have found my truth...

and, now, when I speak the truth,

I am treated as a step child.

Why?

Sorry Patti - I just saw this request, I've been very busy.  I'll try to find the photo you are referring to (although I don't see it).  If I can find it I'll post it.

Klaas  the tree is absolutely wonderful...Thank you. And for the meat recall info.

Red I just went to CNN to vote for Pat..it says voting ends 12PM Mon 26th and the vote part is not lit up. I thought 12PM would be noon today! I am sorry!

SuzieQ we live in the boonies too and no cable. We are on the end of the phone line and kept getting dropped on dialup. We had to get a dish as DD does classes online during the summer. It doesn't cost much more as we dropped our landline, but you have the initial outlay for equipment. We have a problem every now and then when it's extremely cloudy and can't get service. Frustrating!

SarahD...we're still finishing up odds and ends on our new house. We did a lot ourselves, so still have to finish off our garage and basement and I'm planning landscaping right now. By the time that's all done it will be time to paint again.

*******...I giggled!!

Loiuse...sounds great...enjoy reading your posts

Muffy  Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Lala's, I didn't forget you, I answered a question of yours on Natalee's thread.  If I forgot anyone I apologize as I'm way behind.

CBB and Klaas.....I did it I'm decorated!!!!!!!
