Natalee Holloway's Dad to Search Aruba Waters for Evidence
Thursday, November 22, 2007

ORANJESTAD, Aruba  —  The father of disappeared American teenager Natalee Holloway said Thursday that he and a team of experts will search for his daughter's body in waters off Aruba following the recent re-arrest of three suspects in the case.

Dave Holloway told The Associated Press that he believes his daughter's body was thrown into the ocean in deeper waters than those already searched. He said he based that belief on conversations with a police official and a private forensic expert.

Holloway said a private boat owner is providing divers, sonar equipment and the ability to map the ocean floor.

"It's like this: we've searched all the land areas ... It's common knowledge on the island that if someone were to dispose of the body, it would be out in the ocean," he said by telephone.

Authorities never searched in waters deeper than 330 feet, so the family will do so now that it has the capability, equipment and expertise, Holloway said, adding that police would be alerted if anything is found.

Anita and Val interrogated!

Reaction from Anita.

Has no idea what evidence. The parents and Joran's lawyer were not notified in advance about this arrest. She is mainly angry because of the way this is handled.

Anita was asked to come to the police station two weeks ago. The was interrogated for three and a half hours. Same for Joran's 17 yo brother.

There the got the impression the police has not a shred of evidence, absolutely nothing.  guess anita got the wrong impression

I thought this should get its own thread. How come we never knew that
Anita and Val were brought in for interrogations?

3 arrested again in Holloway mystery
Thursday, November 22, 2007
HANNAH WOLFSON
News staff writer

Aruban police arrested three men Wednesday who were previously detained in the case of missing Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway.

New evidence uncovered in recent months led to the arrest of Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, said Adolpho Richardson, one of the lead investigators in the case.

"The investigation has continued," Richardson said by telephone from Holland, where van der Sloot was arrested. "We have continued gathering information, and it's now time for us to make a final effort and confront them with our new findings and bring this case to conclusion."

The Aruban prosecutor's office said in a news release that the three men were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and involvement in an accident that led to Holloway's death.

Holloway was 18 when she disappeared May 30, 2005, on a trip to the island with fellow graduates of Mountain Brook High School on. She was last seen leaving a bar early that morning with the three men.

"This is such a Thanksgiving blessing that there has been some movement in Natalee's case," said Sunny Tillman, spokeswoman for Holloway's mother, Beth. Tillman said Beth Holloway was notified of the arrests Wednesday by the FBI but didn't know any other details.

Vinda de Sousa, an attorney for Holloway's father, Dave, told The Associated Press that she had not talked to him yet but had left him a message.

"I'm as excited as the Holloway family can be," she said. "Anything new in this case, or any development, just gives you rekindled hope that one day this will be solved. I know the investigation never stopped."

Reached by phone in Aruba, van der Sloot's father, Paulus, declined to comment and referred all questions to the Aruban prosecutor's office.

Van der Sloot's mother, Anita, denied her son was arrested and said he was only taken into custody for more questioning. She said he wasn't put in handcuffs.

"What they want to do with Joran is to bring him to Aruba for a final reconstruction," Anita van der Sloot said by telephone from the family's home in Aruba.

She said her family and that of the Kalpoe brothers had also been questioned in recent weeks.

"I think it's ridiculous after 2½ years to be doing this."

Since Holloway's disappearance, there have been seven arrests in the case, but all suspects were released. Prosecutors face a Dec. 31 deadline under Aruban law to determine whether to move toward trial.

Van der Sloot, 20, and the two Surinamese brothers were arrested in the weeks after Holloway's disappearance, but were released in September 2005 after a judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to hold them.

Upon their first arrest, they faced charges including conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Under Dutch law, which Aruba follows, prosecutors present a range of crimes as potential charges that are narrowed during the investigation. Suspects can be held 116 days without formal charges.

The Kalpoes were being held Wednesday in Aruba, and Van der Sloot, who was attending a university in Holland, was expected to be flown back to the island today.

They can be held and interrogated for two days. The detention can be extended for eight days with a judge's permission, which Richardson said officials plan to request at a hearing Friday.

"We will solve this one day," Richardson said. "This case is not going to go unsolved, not on my watch."

Joran liked to gamble and chances are from what we have read, he won a few and lost many.  I wonder how someone as young as he is, who has admittedly stolen money from his own parents could possibly pay a big gambling debt off if such occurred, which given his personality as we have seen, if it had not occurred, would occur soon.

You cannot keep gamble ad nauseum without some way to make payment.  If he had carte blanche to the casinos, there must have been an arrangement as to how he could cover his gambling debts.  It makes one wonder what Guido's real role was here.  Was Joran being leaned on to repay some gambling debts?  Was Guido making arrangements to assist.

Hmmm.  I wonder if a snuff video would pay back a few gambling debts.  How many trips did he and his cohorts have to make to C&C's to find enough women to finally get to the point where this was possible to have that video.

Was Croes in Florida the person whose information was in Deepak's pocket when he was arrested that would lead to a video that was downloaded.  Was that video downloaded before someone realized this was a real problem, that not only had Natalee passed out but she was now dead, unintended consequences to a snuff-video-gone-bad.  My understanding is that in only a few snuff videos does the victim actually die, but fakes death.  Natalee was not a willing player so they had to drug her to get her to be near death, but death ensued.

Was this video made in hopes of blackmailing her family who Joran believed was "loaded with money, living on a plantation?" But the video became bigger than blackmail.

There was obviously some financial gain sought by these pimps in making this appointment with destiny.  No doubt these skanks have been involved in similar activity in the past --- oh, yeah, nothing ever happened in those more than 20 times, but then it went bad that night.

Why did it go bad?  Did they use more drugs on already intoxicated little person,  whose kidneys and liver just could not go on detoxing?

Did Deepak attempt to retrieve the video?  Did Freddy have the equipment?  What equipment was he "keeping?"

CNN.COM
Snip
ARNHEM, Netherlands (CNN) -- A district court judge in Arnhem ordered Thursday that Joran van der Sloot be extradited to Aruba for questioning in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

Van der Sloot was to leave as soon as possible, authorities said. He is one of three young men who have been re-arrested in the case. The men apparently were the last people to see Holloway alive after she left a bar in Aruba.

The judge was answering a request from a judge in Aruba, which is a Netherlands territory, and the extradition hearing was considered a formality.

A lawyer for van der Sloot said his client was bitterly surprised at the turn of events, because he felt he had left the incident behind him. The man has been attending college in the Netherlands.

The re-arrests of the three men came more than two years after Holloway, 18, went missing.

Also Wednesday, Aruban authorities arrested brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, now 24 and 21 respectively.

Prosecutors said the three arrests came because of "new material in the investigation." All three men were arrested in 2005 but released because of insufficient evidence.

No information was immediately available about what new evidence led to the arrests.

Hans Mos, Aruba's chief public prosecutor, said only that the evidence is "so important that we think we should have arrested these three guys, which we did yesterday."

The men are charged with "involvement in the voluntary manslaughter of Natalee Holloway or causing serious bodily harm to Natalee Holloway, resulting in her death," Aruban prosecutors said.

Aruban prosecutors said detectives from the Netherlands have been reviewing the Holloway case at the request of authorities in Aruba. The Dutch detectives were on the island as recently as last month to complete the investigation.

"Aruban police never stopped investigating this case, but we came to sort of a standstill in 2006, and we didn't see any more leads," Mos said, adding that new evidence arose after Aruban authorities asked Dutch police to help review the investigation.

Aruban police interrogated the Kalpoes on Wednesday, Aruban prosecutor Dop Kruimel said. They will appear before a judge Friday for a preliminary arrest hearing in which a judge will determine whether the arrests are legitimate, she said.

The judge can authorize their detention for eight more days, meaning police have that much time to produce evidence. The suspects then go before a judge again, she said.

CNN attempted to reach the Kalpoe family Wednesday but a person answering the phone at the Kalpoe household hung up.

Dutch police were not questioning Van der Sloot, Kruimel said. He will be questioned if and when he is brought back to Aruba, she said.

Van der Sloot's mother, Anita Van der Sloot, said she had spoken to her son briefly from her home in Aruba. She said a Dutch attorney was with him and she expected him to appear before a judge and be released Thursday.

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway, said in a statement, "The family is always hopeful when a step in the right direction is made in the case."

Beth Holloway declined to be interviewed, said spokeswoman Sunny Tillman.

Holloway's disappearance triggered an exhaustive search and investigation. It also sparked intense media coverage in the United States, Aruba, the Netherlands and beyond.

Holloway has never been found. Authorities have suggested that Holloway may have overdosed on drugs or died of alcohol poisoning.

Aruban police have been criticized for their handling of the case. At least 10 men, including Van der Sloot and the Kalpoes, have been arrested and identified as suspects in Holloway's disappearance or in an alleged coverup. All were questioned and released.

Aruba's criminal justice system is based on Dutch law and is descendant of the Napoleonic code, legal experts say. In Aruba, authorities can make an arrest if they have reasonable suspicion that someone knows about or is involved in a crime. Magistrates investigate cases and judges determine a suspect's guilt or innocence. There are no jury trials.

Data Visualization ?

HI Klass -- Happy Thanksgiving to you.  And to all the monkeys who have worked so long for justice in this case.

To your question: sat imaging.  I'm not sure.

I do think electronic and digital though.  As it helps to explain the multi-jurisdictional nature of the involved law enforcement and prosecutorial players, as reported.  Digicel is an international company, and they would have records describing intra-country communications on Aruba, and inter-national communications to people like JC Coes in Florida, initiated from Aruba by deepak.  And further to deepak e-mails sent to USA based recipient.

JQK says to question of touch and feel, that it (the evidence) could be also "seen".

HHmmm.

A picture?  A sat image? A video snip?  It's possible for all these to be recording the same event, at the same time.

JQK says "timeline" clarity.  And I think this remains critical.  And I bet too that the "beach tale" begins its deserved diminishment as yet another lie.

.

Judge Approves Transfer for Suspect in Natalee Holloway Disappearance Case
Thursday, November 22, 2007

THE HAGUE, Netherlands —  A Dutch judge on Thursday approved the transfer to Aruba of a student suspected in the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on the Caribbean resort island, a prosecutor said.

Joran van der Sloot, 20, was arrested Wednesday in the central city of Arnhem on suspicion of involvement in voluntary manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm that resulted in Holloway's death.

I agree that satellite and ELINT info may be the key here. We were told early on that there were "capabilities" that allowed certain "interested parties" to know if someone so much as stuck their foot in the water around Aruba. Given the proximity to Venezuela and Colombia, obviously those abilities are there due to the drug and other threats.

Info from a source like that is about 3 steps BEYOND Top Secret. The very fact that such capabilities EXIST at all, let ALONE what they are, is supposed to be classified info.

When the results of such capabilities are made known, it can allow the bad guys to backchannel and extrapolate what was found out, and they can figure out from that HOW it was found out... thereby blowing the cover.

Therefore, the info gained is usually not released until SOME TIME AFTER it is collected... usually when the asset has become obsolete or is no longer needed (superseded by a newer and better INTEL gathering capability).

The only way Beth would know or have hope about such info having been collected would be for some government individual like, say, Condoleeza Rice to attend an Alabama football game with Beth and let her know in general terms that such info was there, and that it would need to be embargoed (held) until the right time.  Wink

BTW the source for CBS IS taco-boy and his "handlers". As robots would say, "take it to the BANK".

Hi SB -

An interesting item that was shared with me recently.

There are 32 levels beyond TOP SECRET.

Top secret being the first.

Some levels are only viewed by the President, Vice President, Sec of Def, Sec of State.

I would imagine SAT re-con is not anywhere near the top of the list and is used by counter-intel.

Many could know what really went down thru access to those images.
