Phil Keating said the new evidence it is being kept very tightly.

They are being held on suspicion of Voluntary Manslaughter.

He said the hearing didn't really last that long.

They will continue to be interrogated for the next 8 days.

Defense attorneys are saying it is a reschuffling of old news.  Dave Kock is speaking.

Did anyone other than me hear David Koch say in the first paragraph of his statements, that this was information that was overlooked but there before nonetheless, just reshuffling.  In fact, he mentioned twice the reshuffling/rearranging after I heard him say "overlooked" before.

I think Keating ran into Miss Renfro, he may have in fact been drugged while the Fox Crew went to pick up Greta at the airport.

I think he's unhappy with the wave breaks on Aruba.

I'm afraid so. Does look like he's been whipped, whether by Miss Renfro or the waves, who knows.

 Laughing

What he needs is a freakin' haircut.  Get that stuff out of the way!  It's blowing all over the place and as jiggly as his video is, less hair blowing around would be great.  He's not bad to look at except for that haircut.

I think Phil Keating might not be up to speed on this case. He looks sort of hapless. He seems to be buying what the defense attorneys are saying -- then he shrugs. He has been the only Fox guy down there since Thursday or Friday. He had a great opportunity to do some investigating and get some more interviews down there. Doesn't look like he did it. Now Greta will eat his lunch. Kids, recognize a good career opportunity when it hits you on the head.

Probably been out with Steve Croes.  Does not have a clue.  I would think Fox might not be too happy with Greta's choice of pre-emptive reporters.

DNS report:

A timeout occurred getting the NS records from your nameservers! None of your nameservers responded fast enough. They are probably down or unreachable. I can't continue since your nameservers aren't responding. If you have a Watchguard Firebox, it's due to a bug in their DNS Proxy, which must be disabled (31 Jul 2006 UPDATE: several years after being informed of this, there is a rumor that there is a fix that allows the Watchguard DNS proxy to work).

Dutch man to stay in custody in Holloway case
Story Highlights

NEW: Judge says Joran van der Sloot will be held for another eight days

Van der Sloot and two brothers were the last people seen with Natalee Holloway

All three men have maintained their innocence; Holloway was never found

Prosecutor: "We have enough evidence to prove the girl is not alive anymore"

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- A judge Monday granted the prosecution's request to hold Joran van der Sloot for an additional eight days "on the suspicion of manslaughter" in the case of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.

Van der Sloot, 20, was arrested Wednesday in the Netherlands and taken back to Aruba, where he and brothers Deepak Kalpoe, 24, and Satish Kalpoe, 21, are suspected in the disappearance of 18-year-old Holloway in May 2005.

All three were initially arrested at that time, but released by a judge due to lack of evidence. Watch how the case is heating up »

Van der Sloot, the son of a judge in Aruba, was attending college in the Netherlands when a Dutch court OK'd his transfer to Aruba, a Dutch territory, to face charges. He was flown Friday to Aruba with a police escort.

Van der Sloot was bitterly surprised by the charges, said one of his attorneys after the arrest.

Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers were allegedly the last people seen with Holloway after she left a bar in Aruba.View a timeline of the case »

A judge in Aruba ruled Friday that authorities can continue to hold the Kalpoes for eight more days.

They are charged with "involvement in the voluntary manslaughter of Natalee Holloway or causing serious bodily harm to Natalee Holloway, resulting in her death."

Van der Sloot and the Kalpoes have maintained their innocence.

Aruba's chief prosecutor said Friday that there is enough evidence to prove Natalee Holloway is dead -- even if the Alabama teenager's remains are never found.

"There's no doubt in my mind that she's dead," said Hans Mos. "I think we have enough evidence to prove the girl is not alive anymore, even without a body."

Mos further explained that Aruban law does not require a body to prove someone is dead "and any day that passes now is just more evidence that she is not alive anymore."

In the recent investigation, advanced techniques were used to re-examine existing information, including cell phone records and text messages exchanged the night Holloway disappeared, Mos said.

Investigators also returned to the homes of the suspects to try to re-create transmissions.

The team also discovered that some existing evidence was improperly analyzed, Mos added.

When she disappeared, Holloway was on vacation with about 100 classmates celebrating their graduation from Mountain Brook High School near Birmingham, Alabama.

Van der Sloot and the Kalpoes were the last people seen with Holloway as she left Carlos'n Charlie's nightclub in Oranjestad, Aruba, about 1:30 a.m. on May 30, 2005. The men have maintained they had nothing to do with her disappearance. She has not been found.

Holloway's high school group had planned to leave Aruba the next day, and Holloway's packed bags and passport were found in her hotel room after she failed to show up for her flight.

The Kalpoes have told police they dropped Holloway and van der Sloot off near a lighthouse on the northern tip of the island after they left the nightclub.

Van der Sloot's mother, Anita, has said her son told her he was on the beach with Holloway but left her there because she wanted to stay.

She said Friday she had no comment on her son's latest arrest.

Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway, said her ex-husband, Dave Holloway, has hired divers who will use sonar equipment from a benefactor to search for the girl's remains in deep water surrounding the Caribbean island.

Aruba's criminal justice system is based on Dutch law and the Napoleonic code, legal experts say.

In Aruba, authorities can make an arrest if they have reasonable suspicion that someone knows about or is involved in a crime. Magistrates investigate cases, and judges determine a suspect's guilt or innocence. There are no jury trials.

When they arrest Paulus that's when I'll know that they are 100 % serious about justice.  That's also when I'll light up the big cigar I got a few weeks ago in anticipation. (Hope it don't make me sick)

Don't inhale.  Smoke it outside.  Be sure you have an accompanying beverage as you will want to wash down the taste.  (Unless it's one of those sweet cigars with the little tips so you don't get cigar nasties in your mouth).

OS, that is one colorful avatar there.  I can relate about channels.  I came undone when they moved CMT.  I was going into Toby Keith video withdrawals.

Does this Cavuto guy talk about anything interesting?  Or is he just filling time while Oprah's on?

Ospainter, good to see you back.  Yes, Peaches, Cavuto always reports news. Unfortunately for some of us today it was not good news.  Recession looks to be on the horizon and stocks dropped. Sad

I don't think all of the evidence was presented so many months ago because of the corruption.  It's possible that things were witheld so that when KLPD came in, they could put everything all together without fear of corrupt officials contaminating evidence.  I've never completely threw KJ under the bus.  Don't particulary care for her, but in the end I think she realized that she had been had.  Hope I got that out right.
