Was Paulus mentioned tonight?

Hans has tossed him in the mix a coupla times. Nothing too harsh...but he has been the only non-J2K mentioned.

Tonight Hans said Paulus should come forward with info he said he was waiting to reveal.

Yes, Hans Mos implied Paulus is involved in some way.

That's a big statement right there.

Huge.

Mos used Axe Murder as an example. I mean, c'mon...he has got the goods.

And...he said the magic word. Paulus

Yes, he certainly did. Said the father is involved one way or another.

Two things I got from Greta-Hans:

1.  Hans: "Joran and his father have said they will tell what happened in good time.  That indicates that they know something... We believe that time is now."

2.  Joran got 8 day extension today, on top of 8 days he had ALREADY been given in Holland... so his next hearing will be for 60 days.  That means he was arrested a week before the Kalpoes were... doesn't it?

I heard that too lexie and thinking the same thing.

not to be picky but how did he imply that more than this?

The arrest of Paulus apparently came as a result of statements he has made recently to his wife and to the press that conflicted with previous statements he made to police. The conflict involved the timeline of events on the night the Alabama teen disappeared.
The possible involvement of Paulus with that could then be deducted from the file with the official reports of witnesses, amongst which two people suggested a contact existed between Paulus and Natalee Holloway the night of her disappearance, and a tapped report (that was given by the Prosecutor in her final note 1 to the Court). The tapped information and his declaration that he picked up Joran and Natalee by the McDonalds Palm Beach and brought them to the Holiday Inn, are clearly understood by the Dept. of Justice, and could in the judgement of this Superior Court, be considered as an indication of the involvement of Paulus in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.”

I have not felt as confidant as I am now since the 'confession'.

Maybe I'll fall even harder than the last time. But I'm with Robots!!! This is it. The Dutch / Mos is /are  laying the trap... and has set the trap...and a Sloot took the bait.

I have seen prosecutors make a career outta snaring a 'whale' like the one being reeled in here.

I'm optimistic that the right foot size 10 and the left foot size 14 is about to drop.

This Mos is not gonna flush years of law school down the drain over a broken love affair with a married man. Laughing

I really want to believe this is it.  I just got the feeling that the December 31 deadline is the time they will close this case...I so want to be wrong.

I like it, Scandi, I like it!  Wink

I was thinking that it might be more probable that the phone conversations took place between the suspects and the infiltrator. Or between Joran and Freddy, who obviously knows what went down that night. In the car conversation Deepak kept saying to Joran, "Freddy needs to tell the truth".

Yes Crazybabyborg, it probably is.  I made it uninvolved for ease in getting an idea across.   Wink

I think that when Tim Miller got all excited April of this year, after all of the time that had gone by and the lawsuit situation was the only news, one of our 3 young pp's {possible perps] woke up one night with out of an awful nightmare, and he was suddenly right there again, reliving what had come to be the ultimate horrific moment of his life, when they thought she was dead, bleeding like crazy from her head, and wrapped her head in a towel and had SC and Guido drive her to the F Huts, hiding her in the bushes.

The next night right after the stroke of midnight, {4 hours before her parents landed on the island}, Joran and Deepak carried her over to the input, not far away, and met a cronie, all ready for them with boat a waiting.  The big cage rested near the back of the boat by the motor, and there was no time to stand around, but rather to get to it. And as they opened the cage and pushed her all the way in, the water in the bottom of the boat started to turn a reddish color, and the towel around her head slipped off a bit, showing how she had been hurt, and they couldn't believe what they had done.

And I also think that with time their minds told them it was her fault, they were the victims.  And so 2 years later, when one got a call from one of their buddies saying he heard the coppers were snooping around again, he had this mind altering nightmare in living color, and made a call he thought he'd never make as he couldn't stand the guy, and the rest is history.

Only supposition, but an idea as to how this could have gone down.  xox

No - they were all arrested Wednesday.  K2 were detained for 2 days and had their intitial hearing on Friday and they were extended 8 days.  Joran was arrested on Wednesday in the NL and saw the judge in the NL on Thursday.  The judge in the NL gave Joran 8 days at that time. Now Joran just got another 8 days on top of it.

K2 will be in court on I believe Thursday or Friday of this week to see if they will be extended another 8 days.

Joran will be back with the judge after the first of December and if detained it would then be for 60 days.

Good, Greta will be in Aruba again tomorrow.  She was delayed all day in airports and had to rush for interviews today, this will give her more time to do more investigating.  Did we ever find out if Beth is there or on her way?

Dr. Baden was the voice of calm and reason...

Joe T appears to be just as mentally disturbed as Joran; truly vile.

Hans Mos did say the evidence was enough to charge them with voluntary manslaughter.

He also said that the suspects would need to provide an explanation to avoid being charged with the crime.

But the fact is he hasn't said they will prosecuted.

Just a bit more on the periods of detention.

Quote
ORANJESTAD, Aruba (CNN) -- A judge Monday granted the prosecution's request to hold Joran van der Sloot for a total of 16 days "on the suspicion of manslaughter" in the case of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.

Joran van der Sloot has denied involvement in Natalee Holloway's disappearance. He faces a judge Monday.

Van der Sloot, 20, was arrested Wednesday {11/21/07} in the Netherlands and taken back to Aruba, where he is a suspect in the disappearance of 18-year-old Holloway in May 2005.

Two other suspects, brothers Deepak Kalpoe, 24, and Satish Kalpoe, 21, were arrested in Aruba the same day as van der Sloot.

All three were initially arrested in 2005 but released by a judge due to lack of evidence.  Watch how the case is heating up »

According to a news release from the court, the judge approved the prosecution's request for an eight-day detention, beginning with van der Sloot's arrest last week, and added an additional eight days, to begin when the initial period ends on Thursday.

Prosecutors have until December 7 to determine if they will ask to hold him longer.

A judge in Aruba ruled Friday that authorities could continue to hold the Kalpoes for eight more days.

Van der Sloot was attending college in the Netherlands when a Dutch court OK'd his transfer to Aruba, a Dutch territory, to face charges. He was flown Friday to Aruba with a police escort.

Van der Sloot's attorney opposed his client's arrest and the additional custody time, but the judge, during Monday's closed hearing, denied his request to release him, the release said.

OK, if "ifs" and "buts" were fruit and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.........

BUT just as a fantasy, I'd love to learn that Freddy is the infiltrator, because there's some confirmation that he knows exactly what went down that night. (car conversation) and I'd love to learn that he's ratting to collect the reward money.

Nothing wrong with dreaming!

I'll say this, when Tim begins searching, we need a prayer vigil.

Not sure, but think it just might.

Paulus is having sump pumps installed in his home and office to bail him out of his sweat pools...

Aruba Lawyers Dispute Holloway Evidence
2007-11-26 18:46:06
By MARGARET WEVER Associated Press Writer

ORANJESTAD, Aruba (AP) — Lawyers for one of three young men re-arrested in the disappearance of U.S. teenager Natalee Holloway accused prosecutors Monday of rehashing old evidence and predicted all three suspects will be released again.

Attorneys Ronald Wix and David Kock told reporters that prosecutors gave them an 11 1/2-page summary of the evidence, and said it mostly contained segments of interrogations that had not been transcribed previously and recordings of conversations from cell phones and discussions inside the home of their client, Satish Kalpoe.

They disputed prosecution claims that the evidence — submitted to a judge to justify detaining their client and the two others — is significant or new.

"They will be acquitted. They will be freed," Wix said.

Separately, a judge in Aruba ruled there is enough evidence to detain suspect Joran van der Sloot for an initial eight-day period while authorities pursue the investigation. A judge had already made such a ruling for brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe.

The Public Prosecutor's office released a statement after the ruling saying the judge's decision backed its position that "sufficient new evidence has been put forward."

Prosecutors have said they cannot comment on the evidence. The defense lawyers would not discuss it in detail at their news conference, but were dismissive of prosecutors' latest efforts to resolve the case.

"It seems like they shook the file, threw it on the table and qualified some things as new evidence," Kock told reporters at his office in Oranjestad. "This is unacceptable."

Wix said "90 to 95 percent" of the material in the summary file was not new.

"The legal basis for this detention is seriously questionable," Wix said. "You could almost say illegal."

The Kalpoe brothers — Satish is 21, Deepak, 24 — were re-arrested Wednesday along with Joran van der Sloot, 20, on suspicion of involvement in the death of Holloway, who was last seen leaving a bar with them on May 30, 2005, hours before she was scheduled to return home with fellow high school classmates celebrating their graduation. Despite extensive searches, no trace has been found of Holloway, from Mountain Brook, Ala.

Prosecutors say they have evidence that Holloway, who was 18 when she disappeared, is dead.

All three suspects have denied any involvement in Holloway's disappearance and were previously released for lack of evidence.
