Now Shep Smith on Fox is saying the Aruban Prosecutor's Office called them and said to hang on, it's not over yet.

Then Phil Keating came on and said something but my phone rang and I had to answer it and didn't hear what he said.

Deja vu on Karen Janssen pulling out that wiretap at the last minute at the appeals trial after getting her head pounded into the sand for a year by the courts. There's a Mel Brooks movie in here somewhere screaming to get out.

I speculate that Aruba thought better of closing the Natalee Holloway case.  Letting the case become cold is a much wiser approach ... it implies that the corrupt investigation ... that has denied Natalee Holloway justice ... cannot be exposed through the application of the Extradition Treaty that exists between the United States and the Netherlands.

ART WOOD, FORMER SECRET SERVICE AGENT: Absolutely. Absolutely.  There's a lot that Americans can do through the State Department. I want to remind everybody that Natalee Holloway was a U.S. citizen. Once the Aruban authorities are done investigating this case, the FBI can still conduct an investigation, and they could extradite these suspects to the United States. Let me point out that there's a ton of circumstantial evidence in this case to convict these kids.

Where they would be subjected to U.S. judicial system that includes the death penalty for those who take the lives of others, their absolute worst fear and nightmare.

Don't think it will ever happen but there is also a law that provides for legally kidnapping people who commit crimes against Americans.  Was written with terrorists in mind but has been used on I think it was a group of money laundering bankers.  They were put on a plane in Canada and sent to the U.S. with armed guards to stand trial.

Oh, how I wish in this instance but doubt we ever see anything of the sort.  For one thing, Goon was a minor when he committed this crime.  Allegedly.  HA!  Netherlands thinks they can rehabilitate criminals.  1960's mentality for it has already been proven that it is highly unlikely in most instances.

Well, I can think of three reasons for the reversal....maybe.

1. Public outcry
2.The FBI said: You solve it or we will.
3. I forgot....because I'm confused.

hang in there......I am fixing margaritas!! Shocked

I just remembered #3..the family said that they would take lesser charges.

Natalee Holloway Case Dismissed

By NBC 13 Staff
E-mail
From a press release by the Aruban Public Prosecutor’s Office:

The office notified the three suspects in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, 24 year old D.S.K., his brother, 21 year old S.S.K., and 20 year old J.v.d. S., that no charges will be brought against them.
At the same time the American lawyer of the parents of Natalee Holloway was informed by telephone and fax about this decision.

Based on a lengthy and extensive supplementary investigation, executed by a mixed team of Dutch and Aruban detectives, the three suspects were re-arrested by the end of November. These arrests were based on new evidence that was gathered during the investigation of the past eight months. Although a judge shared the Public Prosecutor’s decision that sufficient new evidence was produced to justify the re-arrest of the suspects and keep them in custody. The period of custody did not bring the final breakthrough in this investigation. All three suspects claimed their right not to give any statement at all. Finally, in an appeal of the Public Prosecutor against the early release of the two brothers K., the Court of Appeal ruled that the investigation did not show sufficient evidence to conclude that Natalee Holloway had died due to a violent crime. It were exactly these kinds of crimes the Public Prosecutor held against the three suspects.

Since the release of all three suspects the Public Prosecutor’s Office has diligently considered and weighed all available evidence. It came to the opinion that the investigation did not bring about sufficient evidence to convince a Court of law that a crime of violence against Natalee Holloway has been committed, nor that her death has been caused by involuntary actions by either of the suspects. Neither was sufficient evidence gathered for sexual abuse. The Public Prosecutor’s Office expects that if this case would be tried in court it would lead to an acquittal of all three suspects on these various charges. Given that expectation the Public Prosecutor could no longer press charges against all three. It is contrary to the professional conduct to prosecute someone if the prosecutor himself expects an acquittal.

Although the Public Prosecutor’s Office did see and still sees possibilities to prove that Natalee Holloway is no longer alive, the fact that her body never was found forms an important deficit in a possible reconstruction of the facts. Mainly because of that reason the current police report can not answer the question which crime was committed in the night of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway nor shed light on the exact role of the three suspects in the events.

Yet the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the team of investigators are convinced that after this year’s investigation from April until December, it has become clear that any scenario beyond the one that implicates these three suspects has either been falsified or is proven to be highly unlikely.

By notifying the three suspects that they will not be charged with the crimes that were under investigation by the judge of instruction or for which they have been kept in custody or, two years ago, in pre-trial detention, these crimes now have been dismissed. This does not imply that, if new serious evidence were to be found, this case could never be tried in court again. This is still possible within the statute of limitation. In case of involuntary manslaughter this period is 6 years counting from the day following the crime that was committed. In case of homicide this period ends after 12 years.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office is more than aware of the fact that this result of the investigation is a tough burden to bear for the parents of Natalee Holloway. After losing their daughter they have not been able to bring her back. Because of that important reason, amongst others, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Police have gone the extra mile and have exhausted all their powers and techniques, in order to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the girl. It took a lengthy and very intensive investigation where even help from abroad was asked for and received. Despite the fact that with all this we have not been able to solve the case, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Police share the opinion that by making the choice to try to do everything that is within their possibilities to bring the case to a solution, they made the right decision.

Timeline in Natalee Holloway Case

By The Associated Press – 3 hours ago

Significant events in the investigation into the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway:

_ May 30, 2005: Natalee Holloway, an 18-year-old American on a high school graduation trip to Aruba, is last seen in public leaving a bar with three local men — hours before she is scheduled to board a plane back home to Alabama.

_ June 6, 2005: Hundreds of volunteers, Aruban soldiers, police and FBI agents spread out across the island to search for the missing teen. Later efforts would include more volunteers, teams of divers, Dutch F-16 jets equipped with search equipment and specially trained dogs.

_ June 9, 2005: Police arrest the last three people seen with Holloway — Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch teen who lives on the island, along with friends Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, two Surinamese brothers.

_ June 17, 2005: Police detain Steve Gregory Croes, 26, a disc jockey on a party boat, on suspicion of involvement in her disappearance. He is later released.

_ June 23, 2005: Paulus van der Sloot, a judge in training on the island and the father of Joran, is arrested on suspicion of involvement in Holloway's disappearance. A court orders his release three days later.

_ July 4, 2005: A judge orders the Kalpoe brothers released, ruling there is not enough evidence to hold them.

_ July 26, 2005: Investigators begin draining a pond after a witness claims he saw the three suspects driving in the area the night the teen disappeared. Crews never manage to drain the entire pond and the effort is halted with no evidence found.

_ Aug. 26, 2005: Police re-arrest Satish and Deepak Kalpoe on suspicion of involvement in premeditated murder and rape.

_ Sept. 3, 2005: A judge releases van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers.

_ Jan. 16, 2006: Police search sand dunes on the northwest coast of Aruba, an area police had searched in the past and regarded as a place of interest.

_ April 15, 2006: Aruban authorities arrest a 19-year-old on suspicion of involvement in Holloway's disappearance, but release him without charges nine days later.

_ May 17, 2006: Authorities in the Netherlands detain a young man identified only as Guido W., a casino croupier at the Holiday Inn where Holloway was staying. He is released after six days.

_ April 27, 2007: Investigators from the Netherlands dig around the home of Joran van der Sloot's family for two days.

_ May 12, 2007: Dutch and Aruban investigators visit the home where Deepak and Satish Kalpoe live with their parents for what authorities termed an "inspection."

_ Nov. 21, 2007: Van der Sloot and the Kalpoes are re-arrested on suspicion of involvement in voluntary manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm that resulted in the death of Holloway. Prosecutors later release all three, saying they did not provide any new information under interrogation.

_ Dec. 18, 2007: Prosecutors announce they are closing the investigation.

No offense ladies but if I were to believe Mos was sincere I would also have to believe he is dumb as a pile of dog crap. He stated that it would be unwise for the suspects NOT to talk. They didn't and he folded like a cheap suit. I don't think he came in here stupid enough to think those three asshole were going to answer his questions after 2 1/2 years.

He also said they had enough evidence to prove Natalee was dead. How can he have that and not have proof who did it?

I think because he HAD the goods on joran he was saying it would be unwise for the k2's not to talk....but I think someone got to Mos and probably to the k2's attorneys....tell them not to say a word and they walk outta here...if they talk they go down with joran...then MOS was told ...back off....shut up....you cannot prosecute joran....now if we only knew WHY

Because Paulus' buddy Rudy Croes says so.  I think they were in some shady deal with visas and those sex slaves Croes was holding against their will.  Maybe Paulus in charge of visas or some how assisted him in that or in getting out of trouble over it.  Rudy says the last arrest would never have taken place had he known about it beforehand.

Rudy Croes and Nelson Oduber have decided that this investigation will never go forward and they will not allow prosecution of these thugs no matter what.  I still think the kids may have photos of some of those adults in hotels and things like that as was on front page of Jossy's paper one time.  Elders having sex with minors and young girls.  Then nothing more about that either.

I thought I already told you guys this once?  Where were you?  Simian is a member of ALE.  We have discussed all this before.  Simian's doppleganger is a person on the island that I simply refuse to bring up again because of the stir it creates.  Let's just say it is just like Shango...they are many different people.  Simian had a particular person that was used to funnel the info out into the internet. Simian's IP addy came from Aruba and a source that was directly traced back to ALE.  I have already told you guys this before.

I also told you guys who Shango was. They only used Gabe Leo, once again, to funnel the info out into the WWW.  Shango had no knowledge of what happened to Natalee...he only knew what had been the routine before.  They are all cowards!!  Shango didn't give a fat rat's patootie if the truth came out. They have no guts and with no guts comes no glory!  I have a bout had it with all this crap.  Aruba has known all along where Natalee was and what happened to her.  The Sloots know who every player is on the island...do you not think these mystery men have been paid off in various ways?  Simian has seen with his own eyes the truth and still says nothing.  Shango knows who disposed of her body and still says nothing.  NOTHING!!  WHY?  Because Ben King and Rudy Croes and Nelson Oduber have all the answers.  Shango said that Paulus was just a small fish and he was right.  Until the chickens names Shango and Simian and Merian get their heads out of the dirt Aruba will continue to sink slowly but surely. MOO

I just got home and realize people are mad about what happened today and I am not fully caught up so I might have missed something but I'm am going to just get this off my chest.  I may be taking this wrong but this is one nasty post.  If people ask questions over and over is it that hard to answer them again.  I don't remember everything I read and I don't find it a problem to give the same answer if it was said before.  When someone is looking for a particular quote or a picture I am happy to try and help even if they ask the same questions over and over.

I'm stepping away from the computer right now because I am mad and disappointed.

Good evening everyone.  This has certainly been a setback.  I thought they were going to wait until the end of the year to close this case if they received no further evidence.  The timing stinks! I for one am baffled... In any event, I had the opportunity to speak with John.  He certainly was upset at the news but he said to me, we have a job to do and that's exactly what we're going to do! He told me that they worked all night last night and will for long hours tonight, but that I could report to you the equipment is going in tomorrow morning if everything stays on track! (so far, so good). The details of that Kyle can provide to you.  I am sure he will be updating his blog for everyone as soon as he has time.  In any event, I pray that God guides them to Natalee so that they can bring her home.  Please continue your prayers as there is strength in numbers!

On a minor note, while I was on the telephone with John he got a call from Fox News.  It appears they will be having a telephone interview with him tonight on "On The Record with Greta Van Sustern.  It is on at 10:00 pm my time.  Perhaps we can get an update then.  This is subject to change with the programming but I thought you may be interested.  No doubt the show will be discussing in detail the closing of the case.

Have a nice evening.  Please continue your prayers!

Reports Conflict in Case of Missing Ala. Teen
Saturday, June 11, 2005

ORANJESTAD, Aruba —  Reports conflicted Saturday in developments of the Alabama honor student who has been missing in Aruba for almost two weeks.

David Cruz, a spokesman for the Aruban Minister of Justice (search) told FOX News Natalee Holloway (search), who was on vacation with friends with a graduation trip when she disappeared, was confirmed dead and that authorities knew the location of her body.

Then Justice Minister Rudy Croes told reporters early Saturday morning that the rumor that one of the students had confessed was a lie, throwing the media on the island into confusion and prompting conflicting news alerts from the Caribbean. Croes emphatically denied that any confession had been made
