room mate

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

The bank would have surveillance video of those transactions if Matthew used an ATM, and if he walked in, or used a drive thru, a teller would also be involved in the transaction, and they would have a video of all that as well. LE probably checked all those tapes already.

There was no video at that ATM

1. police should check to see what the previous pattern of ATM use was.
was this an odd amount of money to withdraw from the ATM for him

2. what ATM did he normally use

3. at the ATM that was used to withdraw the money, they could  see who used it before and after and ask the people that used it before and after if they saw anything.... did they see the car ?? etc etc etc

as far as the roommate... hmmmm on one hand he says what a great student he was
and how careful he was with getting work done one time and then he says he thinks
everything will be fine and he might have just wanted to get away for a bit

i find that strange

Yes it was an odd amount. He withdrew 100, then 45 minutes later the 400.00 and he still had money left
in the account and had already paid the rent.

i find that strange

me too. And the fact he didn't call Matt's mom. Kids know how to pull up phone numbers from cell phones if he didn't have it in an address book[color]

Thanks Robots. I just wanted to pick your brain.

Could be he withdrew the money, then someone else made him or they made the next withdrawal?????

All questions I would like to know.

imy guess is there are 2 people involved ( at least)

to drive the car and hide it requires a way to get back to your original location
unless he drove it somewhere and took a bus or plane home OTHERWISE

you need another driver

 Cool

At first that is what I thought too, but when I watched the videos of interviews with the room mate Elliott just looks
and sounds like another geek kind of kid who wouldn't harm a fly. I can't wrap my head around it.

 Cool

AND you need a location where the car can't be found or you can't be seen.

The other scenario I thought about is if Matt went over some embankment.
There was a screenwriter found months after he was missing and it turned out he had
most likely fallen asleep and went over into a wash and died/drowned.

Frustrating there are so little clues in some of these cases.
But I appreciate hearing your gut feelings - most often those are what we have to use.
Thank you.

I have never heard of an ATM without a surveillance camera... Shocked
That's just asking for trouble!

I didn't get a funny feeling about the room-mate at all. I thought he seemed like just another geeky kid too. And college kids are very self-absorbed at times, so maybe he was focused on his finals and not concerned with Matthew Wilson.
But something is really off about the whole thing.

Wilson said her son was supposed to pick up another student to give her a ride to the airport Saturday and she later told university officials he never showed up.

You know I have been thinking about the money and the timing of the disappearance.  It says in an earlier post that Matthew planned on spending the holidays with his family and was to arrive by Friday.  My thought is that he may have withdrawn the money for Christmas shopping.  It said that even after the withdrawls that there was a substantial sum remaining.  If he was Christmas shopping....how far is it and what kind of terrain?  It seems like often when someone disappears and there are no clues...it tends to be an accident of some kind.... i.e. car went into water or over an embankment etc.  Does anyone know if this has been checked. It also would explain why the car has not been located.  As far as the phone...it is pretty easy to forget a phone if your mind is on other things like exams and holidays, etc.
