Well, Mrs Owl arrived safely in sunny CA to visit her son.  She is 100 degrees warmer now than we are.   I am holding down the fort and keeping the pipes from bursting. However, when she returns then we both head for Orlando for a week.  Hopefully, I will be able to get the frost out of my feathers during that time.

Now I just need to work on an itinerary for us while she is out in CA.  Need to find some new things to do in Orlando.  Universal doesn't seem to be a place for we old folks.  Disney Epcot is always interesting, but I am not sure how much has changed since our last visit 3 years ago.

Any ideas?

Have you been to GATORLAND?

I promise I did not do it...I was only trying to figure out how to get my old smiley back...it's not like I was calling in the Shango curse or anything like that....

It only happened for a couple seconds, then it was okay....I haven't experienced anything like that since this new format, with or without the ads.

I found this beautiful winter poem and thought it might be a comfort to you. It was to me, and it's very well written.

Have you been to GATORLAND?

Not in Orlando.  Have visited the Ding Darling Nature preserve on Sanibel Island a couple of times.  Lost of wildlife and gators there also.  I have always wanted to see Manatees in the wild.  The last time we attempted to get up to a National Park when they were near shore, but the park was so full that the rangers were turning us all away.  Said to come back the next week, but we were gone by then.

Morning Monkeys.  Thought some might be interested:

Monday, Montel Williams is having a show about (and with) pedophiles:

On today's show Montel goes into the minds and lives of sex offenders to find out what makes them who they are. They will come face to face with victims of abuse and together we'll discuss what can be done in the criminal justice system to help these victims and stop pedophiles from doing harm to our children. Jack admits he's a pedophile, though has never acted on his impulses. Instead, he supplies people like him with information on the internet. What he does is completely legal, but is it moral? Jake is a convicted child molester and admits he has an addiction. He is in favor of having all sex offenders on a registry so they can be monitored by Megan's Law. Adrean was just 14-years-old when she was raped by her grandmother's boyfriend. The last 5 years have been a psychological rollercoaster for her since becoming a victim. "Alex" just recently completed treatment for sex abuse. From an early age, he witnessed his father molest his sisters, forever changing his perception on relationships between men and women. In foster care, he began playing sex games with his 10-year-old foster sister. He knows what he did was wrong but claims he shouldn’t be put on a sex-offender registry for what he did in his teens. "Joey" was molested by his half brother who is now serving time in jail. His mother, Claire, fears for the day he's released and believes he is a threat to society. Along with attorney, Stacey Honowitz and Dr. Leigh Baker, author of “Protecting Your Children From Sexual Predators,” Montel will confront this issue head on and give you the information to keep our children safe.

Anyone that wants an avatar can either upload their own photo or CBB and I can help you find something.  Just tell us what you like.  I have a couple of Monkey avatars that I don't think are being used but I'm sure I can find more.  Here's a few:
