I tried to access your "Rabbit and Snake" clip.  Nothing happens.

Janet

Hello Janet:

You may need to update your Flash as I had similar problems last week..

******* ... I am not sure what you mean but ... I will find out.

The forum is sooo slow this morning.

Well ... I lost at a game of Scrabble against my neighbour the other day and ... I am about to treat her to lunch ... restaurant of her choice.

Prior to our next game ... I am going to have a couple cups of strong caffeinated coffee ... that should clear the cobwebs.  I already have my restaurant of choice all picked out and .... it will be her treat.

******* ... I hope the new job is going well.  I assume you are all settle in your new home and ... it is now furnished.

Janet

Texasmom ... "I am a Promise" is Takara's favorite song.  She is constantly singing or humming this song ... singing or humming complete off tune.

Daddy has videotaped it to show her years from now when she can laugh at it too.

All three of her brothers can sing beautifully but ... they never sing unless "forced"

Janet

I AM A PROMISE

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I am a promise to be anything God wants me to be.

I can go anywhere that He wants me to go
I can be anything He wants me to be
I can climb the high mountains
I can cross the wide sea
I'm a great big promise you see!

I am a promise
I am a possibility
I am a promise with a capital "P"
I am a great big bundle of potentiality
And I am learnin' to hear God's voice
And I am tryin' to make the right choice
I'm a promise to be anything God wants me to be
Anything God wants me to be!

awwwww, I don't know the song, but the words are so beautiful!  I bet it is a joy to hear her sing it from her heart, no matter what it sounds like....that video tape will be a treasure I'm sure!

He was playing outside then shook himself all over my office

Yes I dusted after he went home, the flames for the electric fireplace kept him quite for a while.

I had to chuckle reading this. My B-I-L retired, sold his belongings and moved across the country with his dog, a TV and tool box in a old RV that he bought.  He camped out for a few weeks when he reached his destination until he found a home to suit him and started out with the camper seats and a microwave donated by relatives. He hit yard sales for a TV stand and recliner and later a table and chairs when he knew "company" was coming and he needed a place for people to sit.  It has been almost 4 years and he is still lives with bare-bones necessities and I envy his uncluttered existence.

That puppy is really cute.

*******, you are in an enviable position right now.  You can get exactly what you want and hold out for it if you have to because you're living without it now.  Make sense?  Take your time.  Get what you really want.

Corny but cute IMO

Potato Family Values

Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called 'Yam.'

Of course, they wanted the best for Yam.

When it was time, they told her about the facts of life.

They warned her about going out

and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like 'Hot Potato,' and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots

Yam said not to worry, no Spud would get her into the sack and make a rotten potato out of her!

But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either.

She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins.

When she went off to Europe, Mr and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland .

And the greasy guys from France called the French Fries. And when she went out west, to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped.

Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones from the other side of the tracks who advertise their trade on all the trucks that say, 'Frito Lay.'

Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University ) so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips.

But in spite of all they did for her, one-day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw!

Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset.

They told Yam she couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just......

Are you ready for this?

Are you sure?

*******,

This weekend all new living room furniture was delivered to my home.  My husband said he was going to cut up the old recliner and chair/ottoman and burn them.  I said look, put all three out front by the driveway and let's see how long it takes before they are gone.  We live on a very busy road-nothing lasts for long here.  Well within fifteen minutes a woman stopped and took the ottoman (said she was going to upholster it) and then 5 minutes later 2 young boys stopped and asked if they could have the rest.  I told them they were not in good shape (my husband said they were just getting broke in).  Well they took the rest.  As my husband said "One man's junk is anothers gold".

A little laff :  I was walking past the mental hospital the other day, and all the patients
 were shouting , '13....13....13'
The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks
and looked through to see what was going on.
Some bastard poked me in the eye with a stick.
Then they all started shouting '14....14....14'...

 BIRTH ORDER OF CHILDREN

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon

breathing didn't do a thing.

3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month.
______________________________________________________
The Layette :

and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.

3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?
______________________________________________________

threaten to wake your firstborn.

3rd baby: You teach your three-year-old how
to rewind the mechanical swing.
______________________________________________________
Pacifier:

1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away
until you can go home and wash and boil it.

2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor,
you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.

3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.
______________________________________________________
Diapering:

1st baby: You change your baby's diapers every hour,
whether they need it or not.

2nd baby: You change their diaper every
two to three hours, if needed.

3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others
start to complain about the smell or
you see it sagging to their knees.
______________________________________________________

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics,
Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.

2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.

and the dry cleaner.
______________________________________________________
Going Out:

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter,
you call home five times.

you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.

3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.
______________________________________________________
At Home:

2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure
your older child isn't squeezing, poking or hitting the baby

______________________________________________________
Swallowing Coins:

1st child: When first child swallows a coin,
you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.

2nd child: When second child swallows a coin,
you carefully watch for the coin to pass.

3rd child: When third child swallows a coin,
you deduct it from his allowance!
______________________________________________________

Hi, monkeys... Remember me?

Klaas is very, very sick at the moment. Please keep her in your prayers.

As soon as I have an update on her condition, I will let you guys know.

I would imagine, knowing Klaas, that the very moment that she's able to get online, she'll appear here!

Keep lifting her up, and if I hear from her before you all do, I will let you know.
