Construction update.  Moving the hot and cold water lines overhead.  The reason we are without water and have a port-a-potty for 3 days.

So now I guess we need to repair AND repaint the exterior, LOL

Yikes!

Why do the water lines have to go overhead?  If they leak, won't you be taking a sudden shower?

The old ones leaked because they were under the slab (which was moving/cracked) and because they were 45 years old.  The new ones are less likely to leak overhead plus we probably won't be around to find out if they start leaking 45 years from now

Today I have dug holes and planted 29 new perennial plants, and then spread 18 big bags of cypress mulch.

Klaas, do those guys doing the construction at your house have a crane they could send to to my house to lift me out of my bed in the morning?

   You had a busy day.

I have spent the last several years trying to put a few in so that we have pretty plants to look at each year.  Problem here is DH and the weed whacker and/or DH raking and pulling things out of the ground because everything looks like a weed or dead to him.   Last year I transplanted rhubarb on the edge of the vegetable garden area...the plants came from my Dad's property so they meant a lot....DH helped me plant them and a few days later weed whacked them....   Lily of the valley from Dad's was long ago mowed from our back yard, and tops of other Lilies have been snipped with hedge clippers....he's lethal.

Lucky for him the rhubarb plants are coming up again, BUT I am on constant guard duty.

It's been interresting to say the least.  The other night I got up at 2am and needed to use the port-a-potty, LOL.  We told our neighbors that the port-a-potty was a permanent fixture

I know you are desperate when you are taking a long bath.  For almost 3 years you have jumped in the shower and was out in record time....enjoy this bath.  Relish it...you never know when they will turn off the water again.  LOL

Klaas, are you on medication?  Drinking Camomoille tea by the quart?  I was stressed out after painting the living room and had my old computer taken apart, cords and cables and components all sitting there, waiting to go to the recycling center.  Then I had to wait for someone to come and take my old humongous desk while the contents sat in boxes.  I was so relieved getting that old computer/printer/scanner in the trunk and handing it over to City workers.  Then getting rid of the desk and putting the room back together.  This had me wanting chocolate in large quantities and getting angry with everyone over everything.  I would be a basket case if my living room floor were gone and I needed a port-o-potty.  In fact, I often contemplate how in the heck to re-do the bathroom in a 1brd/1bath condo without having to pay for a hotel room for a week.
