SAGINAW, Mich. -- An Amber Alert has been issued for a 15-year-old Michigan girl.

Michigan State Police in Reed City, in northern central Michigan’s Osceola County, issued the alert.

Taylor Eileen Manley was last seen wearing a gray tank top and black and yellow Air Jordan shoes.

Authorities describe her as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Police said they believe she was abducted by Raymond Robert Bush.

Bush was last seen driving a dark blue 1998 GMC pickup truck, with a toolbox in the bed of the truck and a dent on the tailgate, with Michigan license plates, 5HCW06.

The 39-year-old Newport man was arrested in September on third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges in Clare County, officials said.

According to a news release issued in that case by the Clare County sheriff, Bush had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old Harrison girl while he was living with her family.

Bush was arrested after members of the alleged victim's family filed a complaint with the sheriff's department.

Authorities are asking that if you see either Manley or Bush, or know where they might be, to call 911 or the Michigan State Police at 616-866-6666.

Amber alert canceled for Reed City girl; Standoff ongoing at Newport cemetery
October 27, 2010

Update: The Monroe News is reporting that Michigan State Police SWAT team members are on their way to a Newport cemetery where a man is reportedly keeping an abducted child hostage inside a vehicle.

Sources said the child has been harmed.

REED CITY -- Michigan State Police have canceled an Amber Alert for 15-year-old Reed City girl Taylor Eileen Manley.

Police said Manley was abducted Wednesday by Raymond Robert Bush, 38, of Newport.

The last contact Manley had with her family was around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Manley is white with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5-foot-6 and 120 pounds. She is wearing a grey tank top, black and yellow Nike Air Jordan tennis shoes and has pierced ears, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children website.

Bush is white, 6-1, has brown eyes and has a shaven head with a tattoo of "Taylor" on the back of his neck, according to the site.

Police said they believe Bush is driving a dark blue Plymouth Voyager with license plate CCE1469. The minivan has tinted windows.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, Bush was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct after it was discovered that he had a relationship with Manley.

The office said Bush was scheduled to show up to a court-ordered hearing on Wednesday because he was out on bond for the conviction. He did not show up. An arrest warrant has been issued for him.

Authorities are asking that if you see either Manley or Bush, or know where they might be, to call 911 or the Reed City Michigan State Police at (231) 832-2222.

Reed City State Police said at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday that the investigation is still ongoing and that a press release would be coming within the hour.

I hope it's not true either, but I'm concerned because the update stated she is/was harmed.  It could also mean Raymond Bush murdered someone else.  Either way, it's terrible.

Amber Alert Victim and Suspect Found Dead
October 27, 2010

The search for a missing girl has taken a deadly turn.

State Police report Taylor Manley was found earlier this evening with Raymond Bush.  Both were dead at the scene.

Officers found them in Bush's vehicle which was parked in a cemetery in Newport, MI.

The MSP Crime Lab Scene Investigation Unit is on the scene.

Earlier today an Amber Alert was issued the 15 year old Manley who lived most recently in Evart with her father.

38 year old Bush was a family friend.  He had been charged with 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct in September.  The Clare County Prosecutor says Taylor was the victim.  Bush was ordered to have no contact with Manley.

Bush was scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on the CSC charge today.  He did not show.

The investigation continues.

Autopsy on Amber Alert Teen to Be Performed Today
October 27, 2010

Autopsies are scheduled this morning to determine the cause of death of two people found in a cemetery Wednesday night.

The bodies of Taylor E. Manley, 15, and Raymond R. Bush, 38, both were found in Bush’s minivan parked in St. Charles Cemetery, on North Dixie Highway in Newport, according to Michigan State Police.

An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for the teenage girl who had been living with her father in Evart, which is southeast of Cadillac, police said.

The father came home from work Wednesday morning around 7:30 and the teen was not there, Michigan State Police Sgt. Joe Cairnduff said.

Bush and Manley were acquaintances, but the exact relationship between the two is still being investigated, he said.

The 38-year-old man had a tattoo on the back of his neck with her name on it, Cairnduff said.

Bush had a court date Wednesday in Clare County and the teen was supposed to be involved in that court date, he said. There was some fear he might have been attempting to prevent her from attending that hearing and an Amber Alert was issued, he said.

Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis said that Bush was scheduled to appear in 80th District Court in Harrison. He never showed Wednesday to face a charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge from Aug. 22 for a sexual relationship with Taylor Manley, 15.

She was to be in court as the main witness against him.

Ambrozaitis said she got a call from Manley's father around 8 a.m. Wednesday saying his daughter went missing the night before.

Ambrozaitis said Bush was a family friend of Manley and her mother when they had lived in Monroe County at some point. He stayed friends and would visit.

"At some point after they moved up here, the relationship turned sexual and the mom reported it to police" one she learned about it, Ambrozaitis said.

Michigan's age of consent for sexual relations is 16.

"There is no consent in this," Ambrozaitis said. "She's not of an age where she can give consent."

Bush's bond was forfeited Wednesday and a bench warrant issued for him.

"I met with the young woman the day before she disappeared," Ambrozaitis said. "It's devastating. I was absolutely sick when I got the call."

1st Lt. Mary Kapp, commander of the state police Monroe District Post, said the bodies were found when police, acting on a tip, found the van around 5:00 p.m. A SWAT team was called in but officers found the two dead, she said, and there was never a standoff situation.

Bush is from the Monroe area, she said.

Police are not saying how the two may have died or who they believe is responsible for the deaths.

The FBI is assisting with the investigation.

Ex-girlfriend says man kidnapped, killed Evart girl on day she was to testify against him in sex case
October 28, 2010

REED CITY -- Investigators say Raymond Bush told an ex-girlfriend that he had shot and killed 15-year-old Taylor Manley as early as noon Wednesday, Michigan State Police Sgt. George Pratt said today.

Pratt said Bush, a 38-year-old who faced a criminal sexual conduct charge for an alleged assault on the Evart girl, pried open the door of her residence sometime early Wednesday and kidnapped Taylor.

Taylor was to testify against Bush in a court hearing Wednesday morning, authorities said.

That connection immediately caused alarm and prompted a statewide Amber Alert to try to find her safe.

Taylor spoke with her father about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday while he was working his third-shift job. When he returned to his Osceola County home, he discovered his daughter missing, Pratt said.

The circumstances of the alleged sexual assault weren’t immediately clear, but it occurred in Clare County. Taylor’s mother lived there, and the family knew Bush when they lived in the Monroe County area.

Pratt said Bush had a tattoo with the girl’s name on his lower neck.

"The father, the family, was not happy with what occurred," Pratt said, of the alleged sex assault. "They did not condone of any relationship between the two."

Bush’s ex-girlfriend told investigators that he called her about noon and said that Taylor was dead. He later stopped at his former girlfriend's residence in Newport to drop off some items about 5:15 p.m. The former girlfriend saw Taylor’s body and said that she appeared to be dead.

Troopers a short time later spotted Bush’s van in a nearby cemetery, leading to the discovery that both the teen and Bush were dead.

Authorities surrounded the van and waited for a special response team due to the likelihood Bush was armed. He told the ex-girlfriend he planned to kill himself, Pratt said.

Officers entered the van about 9 p.m., but an exact time of death for Taylor and Bush has not been determined. Autopsies were to be done today, authorities said.
