Signee, Julio Cesar SAMBO, under-inspector first class with the Korps Politie Aruba, also operational commander and assigned to District II, declares the following.

On June 9th 2005 at approximately 05.45 hours, at the location of Montanja number 19, was arrested the man:

---------Joran Andreas Petrus van der SLOOT----------

Born in the Netherlands on August 6th 1987, student and living at XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX on Aruba.

There also was a search of the appartement of J.A.P. van der SLOOT performed and goods were impounded in the interest of further investigations.

During the interviews with the suspect van der SLOOT and his fellow suspects there were contradictory statements about among others the dropping off of the girl, this has raised suspicions that the missing girl “Natalee” very likely could have been at/near the apartment of van der SLOOT.

Because of this (suspicion) there are grounds to further search/investigate the appartement and to forensically process the car's of the parents.

Of this I have made this proces-verbaal closed and signed in Oranjestad on June 13th 2005.
