WHY would the Kalpoe's lie to the police and risk being a target themselves?

When Deepak called me he was together with Joran. I heard Joran instruct my brother what we had to say. My brother had told me that the father of Joran had told Joran that the police had come to their house. Before the police could come and pick me up, I was called by my brother to tell me what I had to say if the police came to my house. The police did not come to my house that night. After I had heard that message I could not sleep. I was picked up by the police that day during the afternoon hours. I had told the police that we had dropped off the girl at the Holiday Inn Hotel and that the girl had been walking towards a security guard. That was not true. That was a made up story. I had asked Joran what had happened with the girl. Joran told me the same story every time. Joran must tell where the girl is because he had stayed with the girl last.

Two weeks ago my brother came home from work in the afternoon it was approximately 16.00 hours. My brother came to my room. He told me that during the day, while he was working, a boy had come up to him named Steve and that he had told him that he had seen us dropping off the girl at the Holiday Inn. My brother had told me that Steve could tell in detail how he had seen us leave Carlos & Charlies and had seen us later at the Holiday Inn. Steve supposedly also saw how the girl had fallen down and how our long friend had helped the girl get back to her feet. My brother had told me that this guy Steve had given him his phone-number, just in case he had to go to the police and give a statement as a witness. According to my brother this guy Steve told him that he was supposed to go to work that day, but that he didn't go to work. My brother had told me that he had seen Steve before, but that he hadn't known his name. I asked my brother how that was possible because we didn't drop off the girl at the Holiday Inn.

To your question as to what I think the story of this Steve is all about, I can state the following. My brother and me both thought it was strange. I cannot give any explanation for it.

To your question whether I believe what Joran had told us, I can state the following. I do not believe everything that Joran had told us. I think that Joran did not tell the truth to us.

The Kalpoe's thought it was strange that Steve saw them dropping off the girl at the holiday Inn, because they never did.

I find this strange too.

It would mean that Steve was at the back of C&C when they pick up the girl, and Steve would also have been at the Holiday Inn, when they dropped Natalee there. So, did he follow them?
Or was he coincidently at the same and at C&C and at the Holiday Inn as well?

I think the brothers wanted to help at first, but also were put under pressure by Steve's message.

Probably Steve was sent by someone to Deepak to tell him this story.

Natalees aunt,Linda Allison!

Linda Allison, Natalees aunt is talking about Paulus sweating and wringing his hands when Greta and Holloway-Twitty was at the VDS.
I also noticed that daddy sloot was sweating profusely during the Greta interview. Someone said on an earlier post that it sure was convenient that the telephone rang and daddy sloot took the opportunity to leave the interview altogether.

He was obviously very uncomfortable and nervous. His body language spelled "guilty" if you ask me. I doubt daddy sloot has even told his wife the truth, but he definitely has crucial information involving his son, and may have helped get rid of Natalee (dead or alive). If not, and he's innocent, Joran will start talking to protect his dad, IMO.

ORANJESTAD(AAN): Dutch criminal law experts recently expressed big criticism about the Aruban police investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway
They call the investigation methods strange and unprofessional. They expressed much criticism as well about Commissioner Gerold Dompig’s behavior.

“It is incomprehensible that police, after an important tip about the location of Natalee Holloway’s body, to not go search immediately.”

This is according to a criminal law scholar of the University of Amsterdam, Menno Dolman.

The place in the dunes where they searched last week was left alone for long weeks, which could have made that important tips be lost.

It was a month after that an anonymous man called Dompig in tears with information about where the body of Natalee was buried, that authorities sprung into action.

“This is very strange”, according to a legal psychologist, Peter van Koppen. “Normally the area is closed off immediately, to dig and search for clues, but not in Aruba”.

Before police started to search, Dompig spoke openly with the press about new clues and another search which was on the way.

“Total madness”, according to a criminal law expert of the University of Leiden, Hans Nijboer. “This is a total error”.

According to Nijboer it is against all principles and illogical to bring forth details of the tips, before starting the search. Competent investigators investigate the case.

“The media is the last option for investigators”, according to Dolman. “You do not give out information that only the guilty could know.

If this happens, then it becomes very troublesome to know if the details in the declarations are authentic or if the person read this in the newspapers”.

According to the Dutch article, Dompig does not appear worried about these details. He gave details of the case easily to the press. However, the facts and the theories of which he spoke, contradict each other.

He said that he believes that Natalee perished due to an overdose of a combination of alcohol and drugs, that she consumed on the night of her disappearance.

However, in an interview with a Dutch newspaper, he said that he believes that Natalee lost her life as a victim of a criminal act (rape and murder).

According to Dolman, these two versions contradict each other. Dolman suspects that Dompig did this to keep the media at bay.

According to van Koppen, perhaps this is an investigation tactic on the part of Dompig, where he is now tapping the suspects’ conversation along with their friends and families, in order to catch something perhaps during a telephone conversation. Dolman doesn’t believe in a tactical action of such magnitude. According to Dolma, this is done for a stalled case.

Investigators sent both Sloot vehicles to their lab in Holland for extensive forensic tests.

I'm thinking the results of those tests have come back, and are part of the reason why Van der Sloot the Elder will be sitting in jail for at least two more days.

Was Natalee in Paulus's vehicle? Did they find her hair, fibers, DNA? Is this the vehicle in which the body was transported to the dock to be taken out to sea?

Why they (S&D)would lie for Joran may simply be due to who Joran's father is and that Joran's father may become a judge on the small island. Rumors were one of the brothers was/is a drug dealer. So maybe that was held over their heads.

Joran was a "psychopath."! Riehl World - Two Observations

One is a personal observation I am only posting after seeing the interview with Mrs. Kalpoe tonight on Fox. I can remember when this all started and I was reviewing the boy's websites.

Just as Joran's website was noteworthy for a significant number of pictures from partying and the clubs, casinos, etc. .. the site of Satish was the opposite.

I remember pictures from field trips, archeological sites, art and so forth - I was genuinely struck by the difference in the two boys. That doesn't mean anything as far as guilt, or innocence, but it was a genuine observation.

The second observation will sound like gossip, which basically, it is - please take that into account. If it didn't come through an extremely reliable source on the island, I would not mention it at all.

In talking with an adult professional from Aruba who knew Joran, the individual stated that Joran often bragged to him of his many "sexual conquests" resulting from the use of an illicit substance slipped into a woman's drink and the Aruban individual suggested Joran was a "psychopath."

I doubt that the source of these statements is a certified psychologist, but if he is repeating these types of statements to individuals in and around the investigation, it will likely come out and be proven or disproven in any potential trial. And noone should be considered guilty of anything without one.

I believe that family offered 1 million for Natalee's safe return, $500,000 for clues to her whereabouts. Where would the sloots get that money?

To your point johan555 -- why would ANYBODY lie to the police -- and continue to lie to the police -- after already becoming a target.

Whatever the Kalpoes are 'protecting' themselves from must be much worse than what they are already experiencing. If that makes any sense.

Deepak told us (in the police van with Joran and Satish) that the 'judges' wouldn't let him stay in jail -- he 'knew' too much.

Monday - May 30th 2005

12:10 am - Deepak and Satish drive to Joran's home in Deepak's Silver 4 door Honda -
They arrive at about 12:10 am - They hang around Joran's house for about 15 minute  before leaving for Carlos N' Charlies at about 12:25 am. They all 3 arrive at Carlos N' Charlies at about 12:30 am. Natalee is already at the bar with some classmates. Note: Joran sneaked out of the house with the 2 brothers. Joran's mother was away in Holland.

1:00 am - Bar closes and everyone starts clearing out of the bar. - Deepak looses contact with Joran and Satish inside the bar. So he goes outside and sits in his car for about 10 minutes, when Joran, Satish, and Natalee show up at Deepak's car. All 3 get into the car with Deepak. Time is about 1:10 to 1:15 am
