Search for missing woman to continue today

March 30, 2008
Volunteers came up empty-handed after searching most of Saturday for Lisa Ann Green, a Tuscaloosa woman who disappeared in July.

“We didn’t come up with anything yet. But we now know where she’s not, so we feel it’s been successful,” said Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch, the nonprofit organization that led the search.

Miller, reached by phone as the volunteers were ending their day at Antioch Church, said about 80 ground searchers worked with the Tuscaloosa Police Department and Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office to search the county around Peques Creek Road and County Road 59 from 8:30 a.m. until about 5 p.m. They also used four-wheelers and the Tuscaloosa police helicopter.

The search was expected to continue, and could include horses, today.

Green was 44 when she disappeared on July 27. Her employer, Randall-Reilly Publishing, has offered a $20,000 reward for information about her whereabouts.

“We would hope that she chose to leave on her own, but we don’t even think that’s a small possibility at this point in time; we’re definitely looking for a body,” Miller said.

Tips can be phoned in to the Tuscaloosa Police Department at 205-349-2121 or CrimeStoppers at 205-752-7867.

Volunteers depart for missing-person search

April 26. 2008
Searchers hoping to find Lisa Ann Green gathered outside the missing woman’s workplace under a gloomy, rain-threatening sky early Saturday morning.

“I’m convinced God is going to give us his favor,” said Mike Reilly, president and CEO of Randall-Reilly Publishing Co., where Green worked in the driver employment division until she disappeared last July.

The sky continued to threaten rain as the buses and vans lined up to take volunteers to a rural area north of Brookwood where they hope to find Green or more evidence about what happened to her.

Reilly and other volunteers said rain wouldn’t deter them from their search, though Reilly said they would defer to the judgment of police and the Texas EquuSearch Volunteer Search and Recovery Team that is leading the effort.

“People are not disposable. If someone in our family is missing, we’re going to look for them until we find them,” Reilly said.

Green’s parents, G.C. and Ann Skipper, were also preparing for the search at Randall- Reilly. An estimated 200 people had signed up for the search just before 8 Saturday morning.

Ann Skipper said Green’s 16-year-old son was too young to go out into the woods with the volunteers, though he has been involved with effort. The Skippers have become the legal guardian of the boy, whose father died when he was young.

Green last spoke to family members on the evening of July 27. She was filmed that night at a grocery store in the Five Points area, where her truck was also found.

She was 44 at the time.

Ann Skipper described her mood as “very apprehensive,” because she wants to know what happened, but she doesn’t want the likelihood that her daughter is dead to be confirmed. “And not only find out what happened, but find out who did it,” she said.

Volunteers previously searched the County Road 59 area on March 29 and 30.

Randall Reilly is offering a $20,000 reward for information about Green’s whereabouts.

For recorded instructions for joining the search, which continues Sunday, call 205-938-0010. Volunteers must have photo identification and be dressed in long sleeves, pants and sturdy shoes and will meet at 7 a.m. at Randall Reilly, 3200 Rice Mine Road N.E.

Searches Continue For Missing Women Pam Biggers And Lisa Green

Apr 28, 2008
Today, volunteers are headed to Panama City Beach, Fla., to continue their search for a missing Hueytown woman.

Pam Biggers was last seen Jan. 27 while on a business trip in Florida.

The Texas-based group Equusearch is helping out with today's search.

The same group spent the weekend in west Alabama searching for a missing Tuscaloosa woman.

Lisa Green was last seen July 27 at a local grocery store. Authorities say new information suggests Green's body may be buried somewhere near the town of Brookwood, but no arrests have been made.
