Troy Andrew Smiley, 25, pleaded guilty to murder for his role in the March 2008 shooting death of Jeffrey Blake Stone.

He pleaded guilty to murder and to abuse of a corpse, the two charges he originally faced. Sentencing is set for Oct. 6

In Alabama to qualify for Capital Murder( death or LWOP) the victim must be 14 yo or younger. Jeff was 15 yo at the time he was murdered. He and Lee will be up for parole in 15 years.

There also will be a memorial that tells her stepson's story.thaniel Lee, who in 2010 pleaded pleaded guilty to the murder of Stone two years earlier.

Etowah County Circuit Judge William Rhea late Wednesday approved the settlement that included $1,577,171 cash and a house and about 100 acres of property on Littleton Cutoff Road valued at about $500,000 that belonged to Lee. The house is about 4,000 square feet and includes an in-ground pool.
