BTW: I think you guys are really getting close to the truth on some of these posts! Excellent work and I can barely keep up on this thread!

Thanks so much ******* for posting that link. I wish that in the Evidentiary review there had been the observations made during Jorans release from prison.

I am bringing these posts over from old threads, so I hope I don't crew it up.  When CAPS told us that he had given his information to Dave and OE, I remembered that OE had mentioned something about checking a pong before they left the island.  I couldn't bring the picture of them scanning the pond.

Right on CAPS.

I believe they are using the side scan sonar too!  This is excellent news!

This is two of our crew out surveying the pond yesterday (27-Feb).  They are using a SonaVision scanning sonar. The sonar scans 360 degrees out to a user select range.  In this case we used between 50-100ft range.  By placing multiple "drops" approximately 75-100 ft apart you can quickly and efficiently scan an entire pond.
I must have a good laught at this one. The boat they are in is TINY and Tony is a big guy.

Hey Ocean,
Did anything look promising?

I don't think so from what I heard from the field... but I haven't looked at the data yet.  I'm getting caught up with the data collected while I've been off the boat.  I'll look at the scanning sonar data later this evening.

Again, this was done to rule out the pond that wasn't previously searched while we were waiting on weather dockside with the Persistence.  I was personally greatful of the guys who went on this search because it's very tiring work.  Other than lugging all the gear and boat to the site, it's tiring repeatedly raising and lowering the sonar and clump weights it uses (all day in the sun).

did they?

I don't think they did.  They searched the pond area then packed up and left

We were offshore the day after the pond was searched. We were dockside today, leaving tomorrow.

Does anyone have any idea how deep this pond is?

Does anyone have any idea what it would involve to bring a target up from the bottom of this pond?

Do any of our known perpetrators have access to a small boat that could have been launched at night?

Does anyone have any thoughts about them stealing the traps from the fisherman's huts, but dropping the trap in the pond instead of the ocean?  According to Andrew Hodges, the stolen trap that the fisherman at the huts described was not as large as the trap that was found in the ocean.

The fisherman also noticed that a large fishing cage stored behind the first of the three Fisherman's Huts at the southern-most corner was missing. The cage had been there approximately a month since about Good Friday, March 25, 2005. The cage belonged to another fisherman who kept his boat next to these four huts. The boat was still there. But the cage was missing.

The fisherman described the cage as made of 3/8-inch iron (such as that used in concrete reinforcing—"rebar") with a frame size approximately 5 ½ feet by 4 feet by 17 inches. He described it as a large fishing cage with its frame wrapped in chicken wire with its familiar hexagonal openings but with an opening in one panel which allowed them to trap fish. He believed that, given its size and weight, it would take two men to manage the cage. Once aboard, it would lay low on the floor of the nearby fishing boat.

SS:

That Pond cannot be very deep and I would imagine retrieving targets would be very easy  as all they would need would be a experienced diver. From what was posted, that will be the first area they look at when they go back to Aruba to search for Natalee. We are probably looking at less then 100 foot depth for sure.

It's hard to tell how big that pond is or how deep but it would be easily accesable with a cigarette boat like Lorenzo's or any small boat like the one seen in the picture..

I think it's very possible they could have stolen that trap and dumped it in the middle of that pond. If that is true then Natalee would be found very quickly if they searched it.MO

The pond search was conducted to rule out a local pond that was one of the only ponds in the area not searched to date.  We were dockside (26-Feb) due to weather and couldn't do much so we did the pond sonar search.  It's good to have the technology on board to complete something like that quickly while we're local.

How an inflatable Rhino Rider from Julia Renfro's water sports company that could be transported to the pond in Lorenzo's van?

I've been meaning to say this forever but I keep forgetting - I'm getting old I guess.

There is one area of Aruba that is very very lucrative and legal....wanna guess? that's right the jewelry businesses. Over the years I would always buy my girlfriend something from one or two of the store where I became friends with the owner.

Little Europe was probably my favorite because I liked Sonny so much.

So what does this have to do with anything? probably nothing, but, everyone that seems to work or own these stores is from Suriname and of Indian decent. I understand that all of these people live in the same area and are a very close knit community. This is an area that seems to have escaped any discussion over the years. And I would think that the boycott and the decline in tourists have just about bankrupted some of these stores. They obviously have a lot to lose.

Just wondering if there is a connection to Suriname and the Kalpoes that could go through these jewelry stores?

probably not...

I wonder why the Kalpoes step dad is the only one we never hear about...lions den and VIp both owned by suriname.

Maybe Caps can find out what business he is in. I have heard sandwich shop, car rental, etc. I would really like to know...

Vms…I asked the other day if anyone knew which hotel/casino that Luis worked in. I have seen this twice now, once just last week in a link from the NAH or last Shango thread! He was questioned on June 2nd. And again on June 28th. along with Freddy and Lorenzo…he sure keeps some interesting company on the 28th.!

Are those villas the Surfside villas? The road does not appear to be paved in some pics!

Anyone know which ‘Star’ that Best Buddy is speaking of here?  TIA

Back to the Racquet Club for me!

Wow, BestBuddy! Great shots!

Any idea what kind of tip brought them there to investigate?
Were they back today...Sunday? Any resolution?

"Follow the Star"....The Racquet Club?
The sneaker?

Hi There,

Poster, "Walnut" posted about the tip yesterday on "Where would you look on Aruba"

The pictures were taken today, Sunday. I could not find anyone there digging yesterday.

The Raquet Club is right in the star's path also. Good point!

The sneaker? I have lost my flip flops several times. There is very soft mud around the Fishermen Huts area.

Mum and Rob,

I saw you discussing the jewelry store connection this morning and I couldn't reply because I wasn't on my computer.  The recent jewelry connection that we had discussed was the mother of Daury Rodriguez.  When she was arrested, Ramona Tejada-Rodrigues said that she worked in jewelry sales.

SS...Thanks...This is probably what I was thinking of...too many names mentioned latelt...I feel like I've checked out nearly everyone on Aruba!
