Little girl almost week missing

ORANJESTAD - The parents of Morellia Larmonie, the twelve year old little girl that last week Wednesday afternoon without a trace disappeared, are in desperate search of witnesses who know where the little girl can be. Morellia got last Wednesday afternoon on the bus at Pos Chiquito, but never arrived home in Rooi Hundo.

Morellia, student of Colegio Hilario Angela at Fountein Road north of Essoville in San Nicolas, went Wednesday afternoon from school to family in Pos Chiquito. A family member brought her to the bus stop at the roundabout in construction on the main road at Pos Chiquito where she took the bus at a quarter to five to her home. The family member has seen her getting on the bus, but what has happened afterwards, is unclear. The little girl has never arrived home.

According to the father it is unknown if she got to the stop near the chapel of Rooi Hundo, where she have had to get off to get home, or continued to sit in the bus. The parents ask people, who have sat with Morellia in the bus or know where she has gotten off, to let this know. They also ask witnesses who know if something might have occurred on the bus what prevented the little girl from going home, to let this know.

The parents of Morellia yesterday went to the media in a desperate state to issue a missing persons bulletin for publication. According to them the police force treats the case as a `runaway minor' and little effort is made to find the little girl. The father of Morellia left unanswered whether there is reason that the little girl because of problems at home would have run away: "She lives at her mother, therefore I don't know all the ins and outs. But I cannot believe Morellia choose to let not hear anything from her for this long. That I cannot imagine.

If friends or school mates know or have a presumption where Morellia could be, then the family requests them from the deepest of their heart to come forward and tell their parents what they know. We hope that someone speaks out and we can embrace Morellia very fast and in good health in our arms. This torturing uncertainty is unbearable, said the emotional father.

Witnesses can get in touch with the mother of Morellia by at phone number 564-1720 or with the father at 560-5307. Also at phone number 565-2587 people can give tips concerning the location of Morellia.

This is a small island with a population of 100,000+/-

The first 72 hours are critical -- The police should NOT EVER assume that all young females are runaways -- but, in fact, assume the reverse -- a sense of urgency regarding possibly endangerment.  Especially since there appears to be a history regarding exploitation of young females there...

if i understand this translation correctly, a family member, doesn't say who, saw her get on the bus, and she didn't get off when it passed her house.  why in the hell haven't police ridden the bus and grilled the driver?  why, after what a.l.e. has put up with for 3 yrs. over blowing natalee's case off the map, why didn't a.l.e. jump on this like a duck on a june bug.  they have to be the laziest, most incompetent dept. on the face of the planet.  maybe if they get some tips on this, they'll get around to following up on them next year.

I wonder if anyone asked around the other bus stops?  Looked for and questioned people who took the bus on a regular basis?  Maybe those with businesses or those that worked in the area of the bus route?

Maybe someone saw her from the street?  Construction workers?  Anyone see something out of the ordinary? 

It seems a simple thing to get on the bus at about the same time she did and start asking people questions.  I wonder how many people would be on the bus at that time of day?

I have to wonder if anyone asked questions?

I had no idea this little girl has already been missing a whole week!!!!! They better not add false BS like they have done with the other missing people,like she ran away or is partying in Brazil..This needs to end now and the Aruban people should go balistic as this is a 12 year old girl and one of there own. It's a tiny weeny little island and it's just not possible so many can dissapear without a trace. I would imagine these kinds of things happen and have happened when the Government is run by a den of criminals and thieves,mob's,mafiaso and cartels.

Can you imagine the pain this Family is going through? I hope they raise hell and rally the Aruban people if she is not found ASAP.

Damn straight the first 72 hours are critical and look at the reaction from the ALE  That Amber Law is one of the best law's we have passed here in the states in a long time. The only sense of urgency in Aruba is from her parents as they appears to be taking drastic measures by going public and putting there cell phone numbers in the paper. This is a absolute disgrace and I would be angry as hell if I was Aruban. They do have a history of exploitation of females in Aruba and because this little girl is so young they should have done this 4 days ago. Its far more important then covering the 3rd and 4th auto accident of the day

It makes me wonder about the 16 year old that hung herself right after Natalee dissapeared,the 16 year old black girl in todays paper having her funeral..How many young teenage girls have been raped and murdered in Aruba? You can easily see the problem when you have people like Rudy Croes,Ramon Lee and Booshi Wever running the country..What can you expect when the most powerful leaders in your country own brothels,get away with rape and get away with illegally prostituting immigrants from other countries?

one would ask. why only now?
police probably managed to hold them of from going public with it until the parents did realize that the police wasn't making an effort, treating her as a runaway (as written in the amigoe article).

usually it takes a day or two until aruban news gets picked up here.
