Thank you Destiny and all the monkeys for the Diario article     You are the Monkey Queens, and Kinks of course.  I wonder if a tip did go into the FBI, would we ever know what it was?  Would they share the tip?  They have not given us any info on what they know to date.  As has the ALE and Dutch:  No information.  ALE divers and NFI released no info on what was in the trap.  After all this time the Dutch and ALE should have been giving some real info to the public.  But there is none.  Unbelievable Aruba gets away with this.

OM admissible in Dominozaak
May 26, 2008, 17:27 (GMT -04:00)

ORANJESTAD - The judge has the Public Prosecutor (OM) declared admissible in the Dominozaak. During the treatment of the drugssmokkelzaak, which was resumed last Friday, was also clear that businessman Luis Mansur 600 kilos of cocaine in Europe wanted to sell because this would raise more money.

The deployment of the investigative methods (OVC) was lawful, the court ruled on the basis of the documents that the OM has supplied. The judge had called after the main defence of Hernando 'Rafa' Ochoa said that justice without thorough reasons and "magically" the afluisterperiodes prolonged. The OM yielded a report from the days and times that there was tapped in a total of 115 hours of material. Even the reasons for the requests for every time the afluisterperiode to renew and motivations that were sufficient for the court. Furthermore, OVC only when other investigative methods used to test evidence against the suspects to obtain failed. Given the serious crimes of the criminal network, asked the police for permission to listen to, and according to the court in First Instance is that carefully and in a transparent manner happened. Even if the investigative methods used still legally banned in Aruba and the privacy of the suspects - especially Ochoa in whose car taps were placed - affected. The court is reflecting on possible sanctions.

After declare the OM, was continued. The statements of other suspects revealed that the main accused Mansur cocaine in Europe wanted to sell. During the treatment on May 8 the businessman already known its share of the drugsoperaties from 2006 until the arrest of him and the other members of the criminal network. He said that when the plan was for 600 pounds of cocaine from Venezuela to the Dominican Republic to transport.

The afgeluisterde talks has now become clear that the gang also from 2000 to 3000 kilos of cocaine into Europe on the market wanted. Also discussed was the price per kilo in 4000 dollars per kilo would yield, but in the Netherlands from 23 to 24,000 euros per kilo of cocaine. Against the judge Mansur said that the smuggling has never been continued and only remained at "one of his dreams" that he still wanted to achieve.

Mansur explained to smuggle drugs because of financial problems. The judge asked Friday however Mansur on how the money came to the drugsoperaties financing. He said that people in Venezuela him were still owed money and that he is personally go collect money. Mansur would occur only once a big player like drugs smuggling so as well in a time of his money to. The various criminal cases, however, shows that he has organised several shipments. For example, he once gave 27,000 dollars to 11 pounds to smuggle cocaine into Aruba. With help from other bendelid Jose Andres Cid, he smuggled 20 kilos, 33 kilos of cocaine and 4 pounds here. Cid confirmed that in the courtroom. In an interview on May 24, 2006 between Ochoa and Mansur show that a bendelid named Serge had smuggled drugs into Spain. Mansur Ochoa asked to go to Spain to collect the money. Ochoa, who during the earlier court had kept his mouth, however, vigorously denied. He had only gone to Spain to see if he had "a better life could build. He remained there in addition to that he has done nothing wrong and as a wood merchant and vegetables from Venezuela retrieves for sale in Aruba. The documents would be in accordance with the court show that Ochoa would have 1.04 million dollars earned in drug trafficking and laundering of drugs. Ochoa denied and his wife, who is co, continued to argue that she and her husband have a timber.

'Government Aruba is criminal organization'

Published on Friday, 28 september 2007

In an extensive comments Jossy Mansur, editor of Aruba's largest newspaper Papiamentstalige Diaro, the Aruban government indirectly accused of a criminal organization.
This response to the arrest of his brother Luis Mansur, who was arrested Monday as one of the suspects in a rolled-up drugsbende in Aruba.

Drugsbende
The newspaper argues that Mansur ruling party MEP as well as those drugsbende under the legal definition of a criminal organization. According to him, the prime minister and ministers are crimes against the people by engaging in bribery to make, contributions and mafia violence. The water and power management and the recent introduction of a sales tax, he sees as a 'barbaric' action.

Mansur believes that there is enough evidence, even when the Public Prosecutor (OM), to Prime Minister Nelson Oduber and Marisol Tromp (Education, Social Affairs and Infrastructure) also throw into the cell.

Suspects
,, I doubt seriously if my brother or guilt'', Mansur argues in his column. ,, The biggest problem of Aruba is not Luis, but the impunity with which the 'criminal organization' MEP operates, and how the law deals with that party. They can bribe, they are confident that the PPS enough in their grip, so it will not be taken against them. That my brother has been arrested, I see as a political setup and an attempt to meet me. A gross mistake, but let the law prevail!''

Of the eight suspects during the massive police action were arrested, a person released Thursday. The custody of the other suspects including those of the 63-year-old businessman Luis Mansur, with eight days.

Evidence via phone tapping permissible

Former pilot Effi Tromp was pleased with his 8 months imprisonment verdict for illegal possession of firearms. The other claim against him, possession of cocaine, was acquitted.

ORANJESTAD – The judge has admitted the evidence that Justice obtained through placing phone tapping equipment in a car of the main suspect Rafa Mercado Ochoa in the Domino-case. Effy Tromp and A.M. Bruin, who are being suspected of drug dealing with the gang led by Ochoa and Luis Mansur, received respectively 8 and 24 months imprisonment.

The prosecutor had demanded three years against both men. The judge said that the secret phone taps were not sufficient to convict Tromp for possession of cocaine. There was also no proof that Tromp has smuggled drugs. His only offence was illegal possession of firearms. Tromp had already declared that a passenger had left the firearms in his airplane and that he kept them. The judge emphasized that everybody needs a valid permit for possessing firearms. Tromp was pleased with his verdict. “There is still justice in Aruba.”

According to the judge, there was also not enough evidence to convict Bruin for his part in the big drug smuggling case. ‘Pushi’ Bruin was found guilty of smuggling and selling drugs in May of last year. Placing phone tapping equipment in Ochoa’s car and tapping his phone was not an invasion of neither Tromp’s and Bruin’s privacy, nor of their family members, like lawyer Chris Lejeuz said in his defence. There is no legislation yet in Aruba for this kind of tracing method.

The other suspect in the Domino-case that got convicted last Friday is F.R. Amparo. He received 30 months imprisonment – the OM has demanded 3 years - for selling and transporting drugs from January till the end of September 2007.

Operation Domino was among others the preparation and carrying out of a number of drug transportation from Venezuela to the Dominican Republic and/or from South-America to Europe and the United States from may 2005 till the arrest of 11 gang members, including businessmen Mansur and Ochoa.

The gang is also being suspected of extortion, money laundering, and illegal possession of firearms. In addition to the core, the OM is going to bring a great amount of people before the judge that had a business relation with the criminal organization. Tromp, Bruin, and Amparo are considered business relations. The trial of the main suspects is on April 18.

Rob…Interesting reading especially the last link. Is this the big picture?

This from June 2005…

Recognizing its own limitations in the "global war against terror," the Pentagon has in the last several years stepped up its efforts to establish U.S.-controlled military, naval, and intelligence operations in Latin America and the Caribbean that target threats from what Southcom calls the "ungoverned spaces" in its theater command. The third objective, then, is that with Southcom assistance "regional partners will have both the capabilities and willingness" to conduct an array of "combined operations" – ranging from counterterrorism and "maritime interception" to peace operations and humanitarian assistance.
Southcom's fourth and fifth security objectives remain classified, while its sixth objective is to "prevent rogue states from supporting terrorist organizations," leaving the countries and organizations it considers to be rogues and terrorist unnamed. Its final objective is to "strengthen and maintain stable, democratically elected governments throughout the AOR." Southcom's most recent strategy statements mark a return to a U.S. national security doctrine that, like during the Cold War, calls for U.S. military involvement in the internal affairs of what it calls its partner nations.

Two more articles from Amigoe regarding the US FOLs and drugs in the Caribbean at his link. Interesting that there is little mention after 2005.

American Airlines is going to cut routes in the region

WILLEMSTAD/FORD WORTH – Airline Company American Airlines is hard hit by the increase of the oil prices and is going to limit the number of routes in the Caribbean. Unconfirmed expectations are that the company’s two daily flights from Miami to Curacao will not be affected by this.

Snipped

American has a special meeting with the ministers of tourism in Antigua today. Reason for this meeting is the possible consequences of canceling AA-flights and other American airline companies. According to chairman of the board Gerard Arpey, certain flights from New York and Miami to specific Caribbean destinations are going to be affected. The non-profitable ones are the first to be cancelled, said Arpey.

Sweetums, just when you save it in your documents or whatever, at the bottom of your message is a box with an arrow and it will open to different types of format to save it and one on the list will be JEPEG and tiff.  They may be listed together.  If not save a couple of copies.  Save one in Jepeg and another in something else, whatever you want.  It is at the BOTTOM of where you save in on your message is.  At the top of your message tells which drive to save it in.  Usually you will save in your DOCUMENTS and at the bottom will have a slim box that opens to say JEPEG, TIFF, GIFF and many formats.   Jackb   PS:  if you have trouble write back.

Also:  After you save this in your documents or whatever into the format you can click on FILE at the top of your document you want to send and a send to box will hook you up to your e-mail.  If you want you can simply hit SELECT ALL and copy your document and then go to your e-mail, right click in the message part and POST the whole document pictures and all into your e-mail.  You can do all this and keep your other documents on screen. It is probably safer to do it the second way as to make it a little harder for anyone tracing back to your documents.
Not likely that they would, but.....  anyway, Jackb

Trying to catch up...don't know if this has already been posted ~Amigoe.com

‘New’ evidence reinforces Beth Twitty’s lie

The computer print-out showing that Beth had lied about her arrival time in Aruba.

WILLEMSTAD/ORANJESTAD – From a print-out of Natalee Holloway’s telephone it appears that the private jet of her mother Beth had already landed in Aruba at 17:15 on May 30.  At least, that’s what TV-producer from Curacao, Renée Gielen says.  She has the telephone print-out of Natalee’s cellular telephone.

This is very striking, says Gielen, because according to her, it means that Beth Holloway wanted to come to Aruba before Natalee was missing.  “The print-out shows that Beth had called Natalee’s cell at 17:15.  She did that from her own cell and she could not have done that while being in the air.”  She emphasizes that it also means that the call was not done with a satellite telephone and it is also not probable that Beth’s private jet had made an intermediate landing from the United States.  “That is not usual on these short flights.  For that matter, she must have left even earlier.”

The print-out doesn’t show that it was a missed call, but that Beth had really talked to someone.  Gielen assumes that she had talked to Paul Lilly, one of the chaperones of Natalee during her vacation in Aruba.  Besides, when Beth arrived in Aruba, she was carrying a stack of posters asking Natalee to call her.  “This suggests that Beth must have known that there were problems, before Natalee disappeared”, says Gielen, who from the beginning of the disappearance case three years ago, is investigating the case.  Gielen and her team are now in the process of rounding off the documentary ‘‘Natalee, The Unrevealed Time Lines’ that is expected to be presented on June 2.

MISTAKEN

Gielen considers the print-out as new evidence that Beth had lied about the exact time of her arrival in Aruba.  She has been declaring all along that she arrived in Aruba ‘around 23:00’.  She also wrote this in her book ‘Loving Natalee’ that was published late last year.  A former employee of the airport, Alberto G, said before the cameras of Gielen that the private-jet of Beth had landed at 19:45.  He retracted his declaration, because, as he said, he was mistaken.  He did this after the Americans Dan Young and Kelly Castillo that claim to be detectives, showed a computer print-out indicating that Beth had arrived earlier.  G. confirmed the authenticity of that print-out.

The motive of Beth lying about her arrival time is still not clear.  Despite many telephone calls and e-mails, Gielen didn’t manage to reach Beth.  Also the police don’t know anything.  “The police say that there are no telephone data available from the radio tower equipment for that day, which is very coincidentally” says Gielen.  Former chief of police, Gerald Dompig told this newspaper earlier that at that time, the police had investigated the time line, the flight data, and also the flight movements.

What a piece of crap!!!! We knew it was coming...still ticks me off though!!! I think it is going to backfire on Renee though...going to make her look like a nutcracker!!!

Side note...NONE of the people that were on the plane were interviewed for the documentary...NONE!!!! Why no word from the people who were actually on the plane??? hhhhmmmmm

And no one came with posters made up either...they came with a pic of Natalee only...posters were sent by a friend of Jug's 3 days later and delivered to the Holiday INN.

GREAT JOB ON THE ARTICLE FOR NATALEE IN DIARIO!!!
