Caps told us in Shango that he thought Mathews was Shango when he first began posting.  He all but insisted, but as time has worn on I think he's changed his mind for some reason.    Did Mathews live in Florida in June 2005?   Where is Mathews now?  Caps also told us that Spice Night Club was not in operation in June 2005.  Caps says he knows Mathews or did know him.  I know some think Shango is a female...that would leave Mathews out, but not his wife...ex wife or whatever she is now.   She posted as anbennett if my sources are correct.  Intersting stuff there...

Too bad Mathews won't just confess and then we can find out who dirty hand is.  Maybe Mathews relayed info to someone in Florida?  Remember that Shango, Simian, Checkme, and Shock all knew who each other were...and let's not forget that Allyinmiami knew them all.  Lots of posters morphed into other posters...it's so much fun to think about...isn't it?

QUESTION: Arshad asked one question, but I'm going to change the subject now. If anybody -- anybody else on this?

I know State generally doesn't have much to say about this issue, but in the Natalee Holloway case the mother of Natalee Holloway has now said she wanted the State Department to prevent two of the suspects who have now been released from entering the United States if they should try to leave Aruba. Do you have any comment on this or could you update us on anything the State Department may have had to do with this case in recent days? Any contact with the Dutch Government, for example?

MR. MCCORMACK: As for the second, I'm not aware -- as for the first, I'm not aware of an attempt to try to travel to the United States. I don't -- I haven't seen her comments.

As for our presence on the ground, I know that our diplomats have been contact with the family throughout this situation and working with authorities in Aruba, as well as the families -- the family to do what we can to see that all assistance is provided to the family, and that every effort is made to search for this girl and determine what the situation is.

And beyond that, I don't have any particular updates for you today, any new information that I can offer you, other than, in general, we have been on the ground there and we have been in touch with the family.

QUESTION: There have been reports that there was some tension between the FBI and the Aruban authorities with -- in terms of getting access and working on the case. Has that been something that has come through the State Department to talk to the Dutch Government about?[/b][/color]

MR. MCCORMACK: I'm not aware of those reports. The FBI would be in a better position to answer those.

hmmm - this was the day after Waldron said there was no reason to believe this was a murder and then arrested the Security guards on murder charges... so Rice thanked the Arubans the night before (June 5th) and then the Arubans do what they do best.

On your question whether I thought it strange that Joran had left his sport-shoes on the beach, I can say the following. I did find it strange, but they were his shoes so not my problem.

Nevertheless ... Joran claims in his June 9, 2005 declaration that his shoes were "white shoes" or "cream coloured boots".  The in his June 14, 2005 declaration ... Joran describes his shoes as "white and blue".

Then on the Greta interview he implies the missing shoes were identical to the pair he was wearing.  The pair he was wearing were solid white.

I told Deepak that I left my shoes at the Marriot Hotel. Deepak told me not to worry that he would go back the next day and pick them up for me. I had left a pair of white and blue shoes of the make "K-Swiss", size "14" on the beach. These shoes I bought in the USA.

So, as usual, Joran has given multiple versions of the shoes he was wearing that night.  Have we ever been able to determine, for sure, which shoes were on his feet when he left C&Cs with Natalee?
