He is the perfect example of Confession and owning up to what he did (and returning Natalee to her family) is very good for the soul.  He cannot ever be a valuable member of society with the road he is heading down.  His parents cannot rein him in now and the Aruba legal system is so broken they cannot save him now either.  He is sliding down that slippery slop to the point of no return.  Why? because he is not a MAN (just look at the picture for that answer

Yep, except their legal system isn't broken down. They don't have one. What they have is an ILLEGAL SYSTEM where all the Dutchmen help out their buddies. Their system is a total farce.

Also note that the pic did not originate in Diario - it was on a Dutch rag yesterday. Diario was just showing the pic and article as it appeared overseas.

I'm glad the photo made the Dutch paper and Diario.  Some people have held onto the belief that Joran was a sweet young sporter, he's proving them wrong.

I agree, best place to run that story and those photos is in those crooks own backyard so all the decent people can see what kind of people have been running their government and taking up for such a sorry sack of shit named Joran for three years.

Exactly....If what happened to Natalee were an accident any other kid would have been remorseful, and changed his ways. Joran on the other hand has done the opposite. You have the countless incidents from throwing the wine at Devries, to caught in the bathroom on the plane, stealing money from the older guy, and now baby huey in the nude. He is getting worse.

I think sociopath is too kind a word for him, BB. Joran is a full-blown psychopath and he will kill again.

Just for shits and giggles....

FOM - what do you want emailed to you the picture or the stuff RU is saying?  There are about 12 pages of jokes about Joran's "lack of" at RU.

Glad they finally get it, most of them anyway. How anybody can endorse that loser after his confession and other antics is beyond my comprehension.

I'm dense sometimes -- there are 2 McDonald's on Aruba? Not just the one close to the H.I.?

If I remember correctly there are 3.  One near the Holiday Inn, one in Oranjestad and maybe another in Savaneta.

Edited to add:  I'm only finding 2 so I could be wrong about 3.

Don't/won't read there --- do "most" of them really get it? Have any of that die-hard group of Joran supporters changed their minds?

My opinion only:
EVERYTHING about this case is nauseating, and in fact IS disgusting. Simply ignoring the things that show up in the press (while more bearable to many) would not serve our cause very well. When Joran "exposes" (sorry) his true nature to the world -- we cannot ignore it. In fact, it is even more necessary to over sensationalize it so that even more people in the general public are made aware just how depraved these people are. It's been 3 long years -- playing "nice" hasn't worked.
I agree wreck.

By showing Joran's true colors only proves to the world that we were right.  This picture needed to be shown as disgusting as it is.

Does anyone really think the Sloot's are bothered by his behavior.  After covering up a murder in their own home does anyone really think they care that their psycho son dropped his draws.

I will make a prediction right now and say that the Sloots aren't long for the wear on that island.  They will be packing up and returning to the Netherlands or some other country where their family is.  They stayed long enough for their second child to graduate high school and see him off to college.

P.S.  They will keep the house they are living in on Aruba and board it up.  They won't rent it and it will be watched.

JMO

Great post. I agree, it won't be long now.  How do these people SLEEP?????

I still think he's going to bankrupt his parents before this is all over. I don't think anyone on Aruba wants to front the bastards anymore after all he's cost the island. When they start having to pay their own bills, and they may already have, he'll drain them dry with his legal bills. He is the kiss of death and would have no cumpuctions whatsoever about sending his parents down the tank.

Never have read there either Wreck but if a bunch of them are making fun of Joran there must be some with good sense among them.

I would say ALOT of them changed their mind about Joran after his "confession" with Patrick.

i don't think he's worse.  he's just having the layers of protection peeled away and everyone's watching.

http://www.amigoe.com/english/

Criminality increased with 11 percent

Looking back on 2007, chief of police Peter de Witte is of the opinion that the shooting incident near Arubus in December of last year, whereby a 19-year old boy shot a police officer and was self shot and killed, is an example of the hardening in the society and especially with the youth.

ORANJESTAD – From the tentative figures of the Police Corps of Aruba it appears that criminality has increased with 11.3 percent last year.  This has to do with mainly the sharp rise of the number of robberies, especially in homes.  The police are highly satisfied with the approach of the local drug dealings and the use of narcotics; more than 200 kilo cocaine was confiscated last year, double the amount of 2006.

Points of concern are the development of the youth criminality and “the growing ease with which firearms are being used”, said chief of police Peter de Witte looking back on last year.  “The shooting incident in December of last year is an example of that.  It started with a fight and it ended in a shout-out, whereby one police officer was hit by two bullets and the shooter that finally died.”

The chief of police is also very concerned about the armed confrontations between several youth groups that in addition are getting more and more involved with criminal activities.  “A hardening has taken place.”  De Witte doesn’t want to talk about gangs.  “That gives them too much status.  These are groups that represent certain neighbourhoods, of which some are engaged in criminality like drug dealing and burglary.”

Besides, the police corps has no perception of the age structure of those that commit crimes; at least not until a new registration system is introduced soon.  The youth criminality has been raised to priority one this year.  “Youth criminality, definitely after the serious incidents of last year, is heavily qualified for the subjective safety feeling.  More and more people are wondering: Do I have to go to carnival due to the problems caused by the young people.”

FEWER CAR THEFTS

Thus, the number of crimes has increased last year.  The number of crimes committed in 2005 was 5511; in 2006, 5643; and in 2007, 6277.  Again, the highest number of crimes committed is robbery, especially due to the increased number of housebreakings.  Lowering the number of burglaries is therefore on the priority list of this year.  The number of car thefts has decreased with 19 percent compared to 2006; which is positive, according to De Witte.

Same as past years, destruction and ill-treatment are the common crimes.  The number of deadly violent offences is dropping; 3 versus 7 in 2006 and 6 in 2005.

67 Percent of these crimes are solved.

The stricter approach of the local dealing in drugs and use of narcotics that the police has started with last year and is also a spearhead for this year, is according to De Witte very successful.  Not only did the number of cocaine that was confiscated last year doubled compared to 2006, but the police also confiscated 1078 XTC-pills versus 340 in 2006.  A total of 152 persons, including 11 drug dealers were arrested during police actions in the entertainment centre.  “The local drug dealing and use of drugs remains a big problem.  It caused a lot of inconvenience in the districts and peripheral criminality, like burglary.  Especially the youth is very vulnerable when they come into contact with drugs.  We know that drugs is being used and sold on several schools and I an very worried about that”, said De Witte.

TRAFFIC

Despite the extra traffic surveillances in 2007, the number of deaths in traffic accidents increased to 18; a big increase compared to the past 4 years.  The number of reported collisions keeps dropping (-6.2 percent to 5858).  With all the police actions in traffic, the traffic behaviour has changed, says De Witte.  He hopes that a combination of traffic surveillance and prevention would change this.  The biggest problem is still alcohol in traffic.  “Most optimum would be to conduct traffic surveillance every day, but that is not realistic.  The corps doesn’t have enough capacity.”

Two. One is near Holiday Inn, next door to Amazonia Restaurant where Joran took Larissa for din din.

The other is downtown next to the Crystal Casino.

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.
