‘I will stand with the (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.’   Quote by Obama: From Audacity of Hope.  Once again he back tracks on what he says as it is not what he means in this new Republican attack ad

By Obama from Dreams of My Father: ‘I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela.’

From Dreams of My Father: ‘I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.’

From Dreams of My Father: ‘I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race.’

From Dreams of My Father: ‘There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.’

From Dreams of My Father: ; ‘It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.’

Quote
Passages from Barack Obama’s Books
A recent email forward allegedly quotes passages from Senator Obama's books related to race and religion. The majority of these are alterations, deliberate manipulations, and in one case, an outright fabrication, of Obama's words.

SMEAR EMAIL
'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

FACT

FULL QUOTE From Audacity of Hope:

"Whenever I appear before immigrant audiences, I can count on some good-natured ribbing from my staff after my speech; according to them, my remarks always follow a three-part structure: "I am your friend," "[Fill in the home country] has been a cradle of civilization," and "You embody the American dream." They're right, my message is simple, for what I've come to understand is that my mere presence before these newly minted Americans serves notice that they matter, that they are voters critical to my success and full-fledged citizens deserving of respect.

"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." [Page 260-261]

SMEAR EMAIL
From Dreams From My Father: 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.'

FACT
Nothing close to this quote appears in Dreams from My Father

SMEAR EMAIL
'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

FACT

FULL QUOTE From Dreams From My Father:

"He offered to start me off at ten thousand dollars the first year, with a two-thousand-dollar travel allowance to buy a car; the salary would go up if things worked out. After he was gone, I took the long way home, along the East River promenade, and tried to figure out what to make of the man. He was smart, I decided. He seemed committed to his work. Still, there was something about him that made me wary. A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white--he'd said himself that that was a problem." [Page 142]

SMEAR EMAIL
'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

FACT

FULL QUOTE From Dreams From My Father:

"All my life, I had carried a single image of my father, one that I had sometimes rebelled against but had never questioned, one that I had later tried to take as my own. The brilliant scholar, the generous friend, the upstanding leader--my father had been all those things. All those things and more, because except for that one brief visit in Hawaii, he had never been present to foil the image, because I hadn't seen what perhaps most men see at some point in their lives: their father's body shrinking, their father's best hopes dashed, their father's face lined with grief and regret.

"Yes, I'd seen weakness in other men--Gramps and his disappointments, Lolo and his compromise. But these men had become object lessons for me, men I might love but never emulate, white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela. And if later I saw that the black men I knew--Frank or Ray or Will or Rafiq--fell short of such lofty standards; if I had learned to respect these men for the struggles they went through, recognizing them as my own--my father's voice had nevertheless remained untainted, inspiring, rebuking, granting or withholding approval. You do not work hard enough, Barry. You must help in your people's struggle. Wake up, black man!

"Now, as I sat in the glow of a single light bulb, rocking slightly on a hard-backed chair, that image had suddenly vanished. Replaced by...what? A bitter drunk? An abusive husband? A defeated, lonely bureaucrat? To think that all my life I had been wrestling with nothing more than a ghost!" [Page 220]

textbook smearing. you are really good at it. you've got the exact false quotes there.

now i read that these smearers start with saying there are different versions of his book.
ok, provide me a PHOTOCOPY of such a false quote then. i am sure they can't.
because these smearers are just copy-pasting eachother.

but again, if it makes gullible prejudiced minds feel better - believe whatever you want.

Who will stand with the Christians?

http://www.christianpost.com/article/20071226/30605_Interview%3A__Author_on_Black_Christian_Racialism.htm

Interview: Author on Black Christian Racialism

By Michelle Vu

Christian Post Reporter
Wed, Dec. 26 2007 11:16 AM ET

Quote
Pamela G. Wilson, former journalist and author of the new book Finding Soul Brothers: Dismantling Black Christian Racialism,”, spoke to The Christian Post to give her input on black unity versus faith in the African American community.

Quote
(snip)
CP: What is your opinion on a relatively new movement of conservative black leaders, such as Bishop Harry R. Jackson and the High Impact Leadership Coalition?

Wilson: I think Harry R. Jackson is fabulous and I wish I had known more about him when I was writing my book…I think people like him are exactly what the body of Christ needs.

There are a lot of very prominent, up-and-coming black preachers that are telling people, “Stop being a pigeon-hole politically and socially and start doing things that you know reflect the Bible.”

So I applaud him. I believe those are the people that represent what a Christian leader should be thinking. They are saying we are apolitical. Even though someone may be registered a certain way to vote, they are telling people, “Let’s stay in line with our faith and once we stay in line with our faith then we can be flexible because sometime there might be a Democrat that is more in line with our faith, and sometimes there might be a Republican.”

But I think as Christians we need to say faith first and everything else second. So I see him as being one of those people and I think the more this message gets out through him and others, then the more this movement will grow.

CP: What methods do you advise for black Christians to start aligning themselves with their spiritual brothers rather than their ‘soul brothers’?

Wilson: I think one of the things that black people can begin to do is to start worshipping together with people of other races. Not only visiting different churches but also do service projects together. If you start doing service projects with people that don’t particularly look like you, those things go a long way to be able to reach out to other people of other race who are Christians.

Have the many reported versions of the Obama book in question been made available on the internet?  Perhaps for comparison by anyone interested?

Muslims commit themselves to fight terrorism
June 15th, 2008 - 12:31 am ICT by IANS

Agra, June 14 (IANS) Representatives of different Muslim sects committed themselves to fight terrorism and promote peace and harmony at a conference here saturday evening. Organised by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Agra, the conference was presided over by Maulana Syed Arshad Madni, president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. S.A. Qazmi, former advocate general of Uttar Pradesh, was the chief speaker.

Other prominent speakers included Maulana Shaukat Ali Bastvi, Qazi Syed M. Sabir, Maulana Shamshad Ahmed, Raj Babbar, Ramji Lal Suman and S.P. Singh Baghael.

Maulana Arshad Madni said: “It should be made clear that ordinary Muslims, madrassas or ulemas had nothing to do with terrorism. The home minister (Shivraj Patil) himself has said this so many times. Yet, unfortunately, after every bomb blast Muslims are targeted which is a clear reflection of prejudices.”

The conference adopted several resolutions on the community’s stand on terrorism. It unanimously resolved that acts of terrorism were dastardly and anti-social and that the government should take appropriate measures to stop them.

It demanded that innocent Muslims who had been wrongly implicated and against whom no charges had been fixed in various cases of terrorism should be freed immediately.

Qazmi earlier told IANS that there was no place for terrorism in Islam. “Individual Muslims involved in acts of terrorism should be dealt with under the law. Why should the whole community or religion be smeared and given a tag?”

Obama made some good money from his books -

Quote
Obama's Windfall Book Tour: Royalties Increased Seven-Fold in '07

By Fred Lucas

CNSNews.com Staff Writer
June 13, 2008

[Correction: An initial version of this story failed to account for the $815,971 in royalties that Sen. Barack Obama's financial disclosure report says he earned in 2007 from "Dreams of My Father," and thus incorrectly reported that the senator's total 2007 book royalties were $3.2 million. That figure, in fact, was the amount of his 2007 royalties for "The Audacity of Hope" alone.]

(CNSNews.com) - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama made a total of $4 million from book royalties last year, according to the Illinois senator's financial disclosure report released Friday.

That was more than 7 times the $572,490 in book royalties he reported making in 2006, according to the financial disclosure report he submitted last year.

Obama's book royalties dwarfed those of his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who earned about $175,000 in combined book royalties over the last year.

The reports, which every member of Congress must file under the law, were made available to the public Friday.

An attachment to Obama's form said the Senate Ethics Committee gave him permission in January 2005 to receive a $1.9 million advance from Random House for writing two non-fiction books and one children's book. The report said $200,000 would be donated to charity.

Royalties for the two non-fiction books -"The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams of My Father" -- are 15 percent of the prices for hardcover sales, 7.5 percent for paperback and 8 percent for the first 150,000 mass market paperback book sales, according to the report.

Royalties for the children's book are 5 percent of the hardcover book sales, 3 percent of the paperback book sales and 10 percent of the amount received by the publisher, according to the financial report.

According to his financial disclosures, Obama made $147,490 in royalties for "Dreams of My Father" in 2006 and $425,000 for "The Audacity of Hope." In 2007, he made $815,971 for "Dreams of My Father" and $3,278,719 for "The Audacity of Hope."

Last year, Warner Books published McCain's book, "Hard Call", from which McCain earned $91,250. Meanwhile, four other books published in previous years earned McCain a total of $83,705 in 2007. McCain's previous titles, "Faith of My Fathers," "Worth Fighting For," "Why Courage Matters" and "Character and Destiny," were published by Random House.

Maybe this is where the "$4 million dollar" number comes from?  I've seen "4 million" in income attributed to a number of things.

Maybe if McCain had some scandal or controversy, he would make more money too.

Louise - why don't you commit to defining Obama's platform for each of us, I'd like to see you commit to that since you're so determined you understand every nuance of him and his candidacy. I have to fly out for work but I hope to see some real and vivid effort from you when I return on Thursday. Should be interesting since most of the somewhat honest political analysts are already stating Obama's largest weakness is his lack of firm commitment and detail to a platform we can sink our teeth into.

Prove me wrong Louise, go for it.

Louise knows the truth, but has such a romantic version of the self-appointed Messiah.  She knows what he is and she knows who he is, but Louise lives in a fantasy world, where the likes of Che Guevera, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Obama bin Laden and Barack Obama are the saviors of the women who are so weak they need a rugged revolutionary to defend their honor.

caesu, your left-winged ignorance makes me puke....thank God I don't have to refer to you as a fellow American.

A visit to Amterdam several years ago and blogging for Natalee I, and so many others have been made aware of the complete lack of morality prevailing in your country.......it seems like in Aruba, very little is against the law!!!

The only thing worthwhile seeing during my visit to Amsterdam was the Anne Frank House.

The rest was pretty revolting, so we left and flew to Vienna!

None,

I love you but I will no longer reply to dares and sarcasm. To argue is a big waste of my time. Let's stop.

When and why did you become so combative about MY political viewpoint?

We have a two party system, right?

I can vote for either candidate and I don't have to state my reasons to anyone for my decisions. Right?

I am nobody. Do you expect that because I'm on this board that I should be a Republican?

Dear Tyler,

I would appreciate it if you would kindly stop telling me what I am thinking. The Jewish Messiah will never be self appointed.

Barack Omaba is NOT the Jewish Messiah.

No, all states will not follow... willingly.  If they are forced to, then we can all start referring to this country as the United Socialist States of America.  For you to say "moving forward" is insulting to many people as you use it as a term to proclaim what you have been told is your elitest level of 'intelligence and understanding'.  The truth is, most socialists are nothing more the sheeplike lazy intellectuals.  If it sounds good, why...it must be right!  pffftttt!

You read too many 'hollywood' style interpretations of our country, Caesu.  What you may very well see...and very soon...is an uprising of sorts by the hard working and decent people in this country.  We are getting pretty d@mned tired of the BS and having European values shoved down our throats.  Communisim and it's little sister, Socialism, have been failures everywhere they have been.  The votes will decide the president, but as designed, the PEOPLE will decide the direction.

This swooning over O. Hussein Obama will not yield what the socialists want...not yet.

same sex-marriage isn't really a socialist thing.
it is a liberal issue. funny enough here in europe liberals are actually slightly more on the right of the spectrum.
or can't you distinct liberalism and socialism from eachtother?

with 'moving forward', i meant it takes the USA some time to get rid of discriminating laws.

as for socialism. in europe, israel and many other countries this has been working quite well for decades.

no offense - i don't know your age, but if you went through the cold war you might be subjected to a great deal of fear of communism.
and rightly so IMO. but the cold war is over now.
there is no need to get in a panic mode when someone utters an idea that resembles some aspects of socialism.

in my view capitalism is not answer to everything.
if greed would take over the entire country and there would be no solidarity for the less-abled of ill this would be very cruel.
a mixed capitalist-socialist economy might be the answer.
