What an adorable child. I really am hoping for the best possible outcome for him. I can't stand to think otherwise.

Young boy's body found in Manitoba lake
Last Updated: Saturday, June 14, 2008  3:33 PM CT

The body of a seven-year-old boy was discovered in a small lake in Manitoba on Saturday after an overnight search, RCMP said.

Foul play is not suspected in the death of Richard Pauls, who was reported missing late Friday afternoon, police said.

The young boy was last seen walking his dog, a German shepherd cross, around 5 p.m. His dog returned home, but the child did not.

About 200 people took part in the search, including firefighters, RCMP officers and people who live in Plum Coulee, a community of 750, southwest of Winnipeg.

After hearing that a body had been found around 1 p.m. CT, searchers gathered in the local fire department garage across from Sunset Beach, the name of Plum Coulee's man-made lake.

Many took off their hats and bowed their heads as they offered a moment of silence for the boy and his family.

The family moved to the area from Germany a year ago. They weren't well known in the community, but people said they were friendly.
