Thanks Klaas...I meant in all of Aruba?  Were there not any located elsewhere around the island or were they concentrated in that area?

Who was Pittbul´s girlfriend ?
There was a radio interview with her

I thought he had a wife, not a girlfriend, who was in jail for being involved in his death.  Don't know her name.

Murder and Crime Rate In Aruba

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amigoe June 8 2006 article re. Pitbull:

ARUBA — Dinesh ‘Pitbull’ Djoegan had died of overdoses cocaine.  At this moment, the Public Prosecutor (OM) does not have evidence that the 25-year old man that was found dead in the vicinity of the Guadirikiri cave on April 5th was murdered.  Four suspects have been arrested and the examining magistrate has prolonged the custody of one of them with 8 days.

On Tuesday, Pitbull’s widow and her mother had talked with the district attorney, who leads the investigation on the death of Djoegan.  The OM does not comment on the contents of this conversation.  All they said was that in order to determine the cause of death, they had to send tests to the Netherlands.  The family was informed that Pitbull was not murdered, but had an amount of cocaine in his body.  There is a possibility that he was forced to take the drug. The OM is also investigating the relation between the cause of death and the fact that Djoegan was found burned and crucified.

Last weekend, the police arrested two men and two women in connection with this case.  One of them, M.L. was taken before the examining magistrate on Tuesday afternoon.  He was already in prison for illegal possession of firearms and cocaine balls.

both Hendrik Croes and police officer Edgar Maduro are being prosecuted.

+ Hendrik Croes for attempt at grave violence which caused injury
+ Hendrik Croes also for driving off after causing an accident without providing his identity
+ Hendrik Croes also for being a danger to road safety

+ Edgar Maduro for on top of making a report of a violent attack also reporting an attempt on his life, OM finds that this is a false report by Maduro.

http://www.amigoe.com/artman/publish/artikel_43552.php

tomorrow article will be in English. to get more detail.

it is interesting that the OM is prosecuting the former justice minister, brother of current justice minister Rudy Croes, and current state-attorney.

Does anyone remember when Paulus was supposed to have taken that trip to Miami?  Could he even get out of Aruba without someone knowing?  Who did he meet in Miami?  Could Paulus have sent someone else to Miami instead?
No I remember paulus went to florida- much discussion here about it.  That was when we first found the links to all the buissness's in Plantation Fla.early archives late june early august
Do you remember when he was supposed to have made that trip?  Before or after Joran's arrest?

what I remember is that Paulus went to FL
to cancel JvdS' college enrollment

no idea where in FL,
no idea whether that was true/not true

supposedly he was seeking refund of monies/deposits
that had been paid for tuition/housing/whatever

which made sense at the time:
JvdS' arrest = not a good idea to attend school/live in the US

Thanks Finngirl.

Let's see here, he is flying here to cancel or seek a refund of deposits and his son had not graduated yet?  Heck, even I didn't have to pay anything of any kind before my kid had graduated.  I think I smell another lie...he was here, but not for that.  They would have mailed it back to him. No reason to fly all the way here when he had much bigger problems on Aruba...not buying it.  Thanks again for letting me know...once again...hmmmmm.

You're right, Lala's.  You don't pay before registration.  Before registration, you are just accepted, nothing to withdraw from.  Application fees are not refundable.  Some fees like housing are, but they send it to you.  You never get any kind of refund on the spot.  All is forthcoming after processing.

If Paulus was in Florida, he was up to something else.

Rudy Lampe met with Hero Brinkman.
"they are friends". that's what i can make of this article.

http://news.diario-aruba.com/content/view/3127/30/

both Lampe and Brinkman are of course trying to bring the corruption on Aruba to the attention.

last week was the half-yearly meeting of the parliamentary delegations of The Netherlands, Aruba and Antilles.
this time it was in The Hague.

this is the final report on these meeting:
http://www.tweedekamer.nl/images/slotverklaring%20Parlementair%20Overleg%20Koninkrijksrelaties_tcm118-165150.pdf (PDF)

the part that i found interesting is that state secretary for kingdom affairs (Bijleveldt) is of the opinion that the 1993 Protocol is still valid.
the Aruba delegation doesn't think this Protocol is valid anymore and reverts to a letter by Oduber.

in short the 1993 Protocol was a agreement between The Netherlands and Aruba that Aruba was going to fight corruption and sort out their problems regarding the justice department and their budget.
these were preconditions for the financial aid Aruba was receiving.

NAIL ON HEAD ALERT! Darn right Lalas. All he would have had to do is make a phone call or send a written request to withdraw Joran from school. Plenty of time for that, Goon Child had just gotten out of high school. This was no emergency. If he flew to the States it was to get his evil son out of something much bigger than school.

maybe already posted.

but the washed up bodies are most likely of Colombians from Valle del Cauca region aged 19 and 21, trying to enter Aruba illegally.
this is what the Colombian consul thinks.

police spokesman Comenencia  says they are still investigating.
he says it is still possible that they either tried to enter illegally, or tried to smuggle drugs.

i hope Lampe gave Brinkman a lot of information.
because i was quite disappointed by Brinkman's report called "Antilles... Maffia within the Kingdom".
it hardly mentioned Aruba. mostly Curaçao and St. Maarten.

understandably, because St. Maarten and Curaçao are becoming a country end of this year (in effect 'status aparte', just as Aruba has now).
so the focus is on these islands.

but Aruba shouldn't be overlooked.
i hope Brinkman comes with a follow-up on Aruba.
maybe he could time this together with upcoming Peter R. de Vries broadcast (in september?) focusing more in PvdS.

they new broadcast about JvdS/PvdS will generate a lot of (international) media attention for sure.
