Nelson graduated in 2004 from a Bacholors degree in economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam. He must therefor have been living in the Netherlands for several years, although he did to an internship of tourism at the Aruban Travel Agency's Fort Lauderdale (Florida) office in 2003. And some media say he still works there so he is not really a prime suspect for friendship with the gang on Aruba (much older, better educated and moving in different circles, maybe even in a different country).

Danguillaume Oduber graduated in july 2005 from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, he too got a bacholors degree in Economics from the same institute. Danguillaume Oduber therefor must have lived in Rotterdam for the past few years.

Another point of view ~

They move in the same circles because they choose some the same paths to leaving the island. 

JVDS chose a school in Florida and would have left the island to attend.  Who knows at this point in time where he would have ended up staying, and who would have been his circle of friends in Florida.  Where was he planning to stay after school?

There are some like Deepak and Satish, for whom Aruba was the destination, the promised land, the new beginning. 

Aruba is a small island.  How many highly paid jobs are available for new graduates?

How many Aruban graduates, go to university off island, and return to the island after their studies are complete?

How many make Aruba their home?

How much home grown talent is there?  Does the 'talent' come from off island and move on after awhile?  i.e. the hotel/casino/club managers...

I can't find the name of a school in here, but it does mention a two-year AA degree in Internalional Marketing.  There is also something near Daytona.

Private Eye, I think Anita and her friends blame Natalee, Beth and the U.S. media for what Joran has become.  They don't want to believe that he was a bad seed long before Natalee and her friends planned their trip to Aruba.  It's someone else's fault. 

Look and listen.  Many many people rationalize and justify their actions.  They place the blame on others without once taking an honest look at themselves.  They criticize and judge and feel superior often without realizing they are guilty of the things they accuse others of doing.  We've seen and heard Aruba and the van der Sloots, aided by Joseph Tacopina and Julie Renfro, blame everyone but the narcissitic sociopath, his family and the legal authorities in Aruba for what's become of Joran van der Sloot.  To quote Jack Nicholson, they can't handle the truth.  The truth is that JVDS is responsible for what's become of Natalee.  They're all responsible for what's become of Beth.

I came across this page of Valentijn's that Johan posted a while back, since Valentijn was only a sophomore I assume it was from Aug 2005.  But I've read it very carefully; and can't help but wonder if anything had changed since then.  He said he was barely ever at home....what was he doing?  The same things his older brother found to do?  Did his parents notice?
