I think the marking is a temporary tattoo. It's too symmetrical to be a bruise, and there isn't any coloring in the middle of it.

As an aside, my daughter won't be allowed to wear temporary tattoos. I think they're trashy-looking.

Oh, I'll happily sing a duet with you Cubbee! I'd LOVE to be wrong, but I can't get past the smell in the car. I wish the forensics would come back so we could know something concrete about what was in the trunk of that car!

I will have to check it out more closely this evening when I have more time, for right now I am leaning towards it being a boo boo of some sort. Although that could be perfectly innocent also, when my son was small it seemed as if every time I planned to have his picture taken he would have a cut, scratch or bruise which was quite visible on his face.... and he was not an abused child by any means....

And you are right, the kids love those tattoos, heck they even put them on them at school parties....
