The problem with this being our Jesus Ortiz is it was filed 10/12/2007, Jesus died 5/8/07.. In this Jesus is the Plantiff and Fernandes is the Defendant so Ortiz is sueing Fernandez.. Unless I just can't read legalize.. Which is totally possible.

Thanks.  I was thinking the same thing...so how would this work about being deceased?  Does that mean that Ortiz was trying to obtain rent from Zenaida or the other way around?   I am not sure if this is anything valid, just trying to figure out the order here...who is suing whom and who gets the cash?  I understand the rent was $5,000 originally and it seems $80 was all that came of that.  So did this Zenaida person need more money and Casey knew this in some way and used it in her story?  I am still trying to figure out where Casey gets Zenaida and why Padilla thinks it's a credible story.  He may not be as skeptical as some of us and not do the research we do.

Also, how many months was this from his passing and could Casey have a secret life we don't know about...yet?  Maybe she was using his name.

Eyewitness News Reveals Remote Area Where Casey Made Calls

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Woods and water are the perfect place to hide a body and the one place no one reported Casey Anthony ever visited until now. Channel 9 uncovered what could be a major break in the Caylee Anthony case.

June 17 is the day after little Caylee was last seen alive and it's the same date that Eyewitness News tracked Casey Anthony's location to an area near the Orlando International Airport. From a satellite map the dense woods and ponds around the airport. The more information investigators get, the more locations come into the picture.

Channel 9 has learned that the day after Caylee disappeared, Casey was in a somewhat remote area just a few miles from the Anthonys' home. Channel 9 has learned documents show that, for some reason, Casey Anthony came to the area less than ten minutes and less than five miles from her parents' Lee Vista home. There are acres of woods and scrub and there's lots of water. By day, there's very little traffic that comes through the area and not much lighting at night.



Eyewitness News tracked Casey Anthony's location to an area near the Orlando International Airport.
 
Channel 9 has obtained maps showing how many AT&T cell phone towers there are in two key areas investigators are focused on. There are 15 cell towers within a ten mile radius of Caylee Anthony's grandparents' house, where Caylee's grandfather said he last saw her alive on the afternoon of June 16.

There are 37 AT&T cell phone towers within ten miles of the apartment where Casey said she last saw Caylee alive on June 9, sometime between 9:00am and 1:00pm when she dropped Caylee off with the babysitter on her way to work.

Casey lied about the date and the cell phone records are helping investigators find out what else Caylee's mother has lied about.

It's known that Casey had no job and that Caylee did not disappear on June 9. Caylee's grandmother had stuck with Casey's version about June 9 until detectives confronted Cindy Anthony with video she herself had taken of Caylee during a visit with her great-grandfather in Mount Dora on Father's Day, June 15.

"I couldn't remember going on father's day because I go almost every week but I don't take Caylee that often," Cindy Anthony said during Casey's bond hearing.

"Are you lying to investigators? Purposely misleading them?" WFTV reporter Kathi Belich asked Cindy on Thursday.

Cindy didn't reply verbally, but shook her head.

Thanks Klaas...generally factual regarding the number of towers on 1 (one) carrier but in the greater Orlando area there is also Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile plus MetroPCS I think. The statement in the article is additionally vague regarding exactly what data would be available but thats no real surprise as LE is never going to tell a reporter everything.

What's a simm, siim, sim  card? I'm technologically impaired! 

A sim card is a card (chip) that you put in your phone that has all of your information, like your phone number.  It's your ID for the phone. 

Thank you, Klaas! So, switching cards wouldn't really change anything as far as tracking? I think Casey just made up the other phone when she realized that the answers she was giving Lee about calls from the babysitter and Caylee wouldn't show up on her phone as recieved or dialed numbers.

Okay...so that is where Nancy Gross got lost too...the sim card blackjack debacle...the thing is she said she had just purchased the phone a week or so ago..it had problems holding a charge ( probably should have been returned to the AT&T store that she purchased it from...hmm who might remember seeing her and who was with her etc...but more importantly the GP's should be able to find out exactly when that phone was added to their account and any additional info about the purchase..whether a SIM was supplied with the phone, a different number..etc...it was THEIR account and they paid the bill...they would have had to approve adding the phone to their line/plan...just thinking out loud..lol)...soooo back to the original deal...it won't stay charged..She decided well I will just go back to using my old phone...sticks the lil sim card back in the lil Nokia or whatever she had and on her merry way she goes....the thing is once she removes that SIM card from her blackjack it is no longer pingable...no longer trackable...so they cant find the phone any other way at this point except to stumble accross it in a wet, damp corner of some woodsy area...BUT the calls she made/recieved with the blackjack while it had her original SIM card plugged into it would be on her cell phone records..no hiding anything there...the tricky thing is the information stored on that card vs on the phone...another grain of truth from Ms Anthony..I was impressed when I heard it...you have a choice as to whether to store the number on the phone or on the card itself..some phones let you choose..some choose for you...but only the info stored on that chip moves with you to the next phone...I encountered this myself when we just purchased a couple new phones for our account and I switched the SIM from my old phone to a new Samsung...I "lost" about 75% of my info stored on the phone...now I can retrieve it very simply by putting that SIM card back into the other phone...Sooo IF they ever find a blackjack they can put her SIM in it to see if there is really any additional info on it that she claims she had but is not accessible to her (or LE since they must have her phone) at this time...

Shooo...that is a lot of casey style hooey...LOL

No wonder Nancy face got so flustered...LOL

Short version...if there is another phone..its not traceable with no SIM and they need her SIM card to see what other info is on the phone...might be some more cool pix on it too...LMAO...

Praying, She might not have purchased the Blackjack through AT&T.... she could have bought it at a flea market,or one of those little stands on the mall, or somewhere else, you can even purchase them through e-bay as long as it says for AT&T on it, it will work. Hi Lala's....

Since 98% of all phones come pre-configured from the phone manufacturers for specific carriers then a Verizon phone would only ping a Verizon tower. Likewise for ATT and the others.

Yes, and that was a lie.  Jesus died in a crash May 2007, Caylee's birthday is in August.

The problem with this being our Jesus Ortiz is it was filed 10/12/2007, Jesus died 5/8/07.. In this Jesus is the Plantiff and Fernandes is the Defendant so Ortiz is sueing Fernandez.. Unless I just can't read legalize.. Which is totally possible.

Thanks.  I was thinking the same thing...so how would this work about being deceased?  Does that mean that Ortiz was trying to obtain rent from Zenaida or the other way around?   I am not sure if this is anything valid, just trying to figure out the order here...who is suing whom and who gets the cash?  I understand the rent was $5,000 originally and it seems $80 was all that came of that.  So did this Zenaida person need more money and Casey knew this in some way and used it in her story?  I am still trying to figure out where Casey gets Zenaida and why Padilla thinks it's a credible story.  He may not be as skeptical as some of us and not do the research we do.

Also, how many months was this from his passing and could Casey have a secret life we don't know about...yet?  Maybe she was using his name.

Yes, and that was a lie.  Jesus died in a crash May 2007, Caylee's birthday is in August.

I have a question. Can any cell phone ping off any tower or are they limited to their carrier's tower only?  You know, AT&T off a Verizon and so forth?  I know that's a dumb question...sorry...dumb cell phone person here.

Since 98% of all phones come pre-configured from the phone manufacturers for specific carriers then a Verizon phone would only ping a Verizon tower. Likewise for ATT and the others.

unless they have roaming agreements between the two or three companies to share coverage and therfor provide better coverage for customers..

Ok...I'll try to be concise with this as I detest the term "cell phone pings" as it is an overused and very generalized statement as to what a cell phone (I'll refer to it as a mobile) does in a cellular phone network.

The general makeup of a cellular network has a MTSO (central switching office-traffic router), cell towers and mobiles. When a mobile is powered on it sends a message to the network that says "here I am" and the network does a validation of the mobile and it's account (active or not) if active then the mobile can place/receive voice or data calls, if not active (account unpaid) the mobile still can make calls to 911. While the mobile is on and registered on the network the mobile is constantly receiving messages and transmitting acknowledgments back to the network. Since the cell towers are place 1-3 miles away from each other it is easy to get an approximate location of the mobile. I forget the year but the FCC placed new mandates on all cellular service providers to be compliant with new 911 requirements for reporting the location of the mobile and made cell phone manufacturers place GPS radios into cellular phones that will report exact locations to around 100-500 meters approximately. This information applies to all cellular service providers regardless of technology ie. Verizon uses CDMA and ATT, T-Mobile use GSM-UMTS.

To answer the question about swtiching SIM cards from one phone to another it would not matter. The process of registering on the network, receiving messages and acknowledges still applies.

This is pretty general information so let me know what specific questions you may have. I'll try to stay online for as long as I can this afternoon.

There was some discussion earlier that people near the Canadian border can get charged international roaming charges because the nearest cell tower is in Canada. So that's how it works - right? The mobile is picked up by the nearest cell tower to it? Sorry if this is a very simplistic question - I know next to nothing about how my cell phone works.

In the early days of cellular networks the border was an issue because the system selection (network acquisition) schemes were very simplistic. Now we have much more advanced system selection schemes so the border issue just does not happen now like it used to.

metro, I can email you my cell bills and show you how routinely it happens at the Canadian border from Buffalo NY. I haven't had 1 month in over a year that there wasn't some charge for roaming to Canada which should not have been there.

I think she was just playing the sympathy card.  She doesn't know who the father is so it's easier to say he died then to bring in 10 guys for DNA testing on Montel.

Only if the devices have been programmed with the correct PRL in the case of a CDMA phone and in the case of GSM or UMTS it would then need to have the MCC/MNC list loaded. My statement was general in that a OEM pre-configures devices based on carrier requirement for use on their network.
