If I were Casey's defense attorney, George would be in serious trouble.  My defense of Casey?  Dimished capacity based on years of sexual abuse.  Basically, I'd say George had been molesting Casey for years - hence her detachment, fantasies, lies and promiscuity.  Casey PRAYED the baby was Jesse's and when it was confirmed by DNA that Jesse was not Caylee's father, the idea that Caylee could be a product her sexual abuse drove Casey over the edge - into further promiscuity, further fantasy, alcohol and drug abuse.  Some "accident" happened (doesn't matter what - I'd come up with something plausible), Caylee died, and George forced Casey to help him cover it up in order to save his own ass.  All this time, Casey has been unable to tell the truth about what happened because she is so traumatized by her own victimization.  The partying afterwards was Casey's only mechanism to block out the horror of what was done to her and Caylee.  Yeah, George would be in real trouble if I were Casey's attorney.

How's that for a defense?

Well I would say that's true except for how would the justify Casey being returned (after jail release) to the very home in which they would assume she was abused in ......

Dang, my Fox cam doesn't work!  Anyone else get a picture?
Ha!  All I ever get is that stupid tree waving once in a while and that one red truck that drives by every 5 minutes.  I never see the good stuff, by the time I look again it is just the dumb tree.

The stalker cam is down more often that up. It is frustrating, I agree.

mytime, you posted this from a friend,
3)It is true that DNA from the hair is Caylee's and eveidence does show that the father is a male related by blood to Casey, however it has no relevence in the case, because they do not feel he is at all involved in Caylee's disappearence.

If Caylee's father is a male related by blood to Casey, and it does not have a direct relevance to Caylee's disappearance, it still would indicate the crime of incest.  Any crime discovered in the process of any investigation has to be prosecuted.  At least, that is my understanding of the law.

AZ - how many possibilites could there be?  George, Lee, grandfather, or maybe some relatives from Ohio like Uncle Rick.  Rick seemed to imply that the Ohio relatives dont have much contact with the Anthony family in Florida except by phone calls.  LE seems to be leaning on George for possible involvement in Caylee's case, so that would leave grandpa and Lee.  Grandpa is in a nursing home and I really, really can't get my head around that one.  All of these sources seem to be pointing to Lee.  Do you know how old Lee is?  I also think that you are correct about prosecuting a crime that is discovered during the course of an investigation.

I agree, Switchy.  I do think George is the target here and Baez will do his best to make him take the fall.  I believe this is why George has hired a high powered defense attorney.  He's going to need him.

As her defense attorney, I'd say she hadn't yet told me the truth - but when she finally did tell me, I got her the heck out of there and into a safehouse.  Let's see if Jose moves her sometime soon.

In all frankness, I don't think Baez is smart enough to think of a good defense, though.

I am guessing that Padilla called in the tip.
George and his friend or brother were the first to escort Casey to Baez's office during her first home stay.  George could have told Padilla that he could guard her and that he has a gun.
Just possible...

Leonard Padilla?  If Padilla had knowledge pertaining to the hidden gun I am sure he would have used it against the Anthonys.  No love loss since he feels is was used/betrayed by the family and slammed in the media by Cindy Anthony.

Considering Padilla originally secured the $500,000 bond ... he may have learned something in regards to George's hidden gun by the guy (forget his name) that he hired to stay by Casey's side.  According to his own words ... Padilla never had a conversation with the Anthonys ... they totally ignorned him.  Cindy disagrees ... she claims she said "Thank You".

However ... why would Padilla wait two days to report the hidden gun and ... why 1:00 AM.

It is anybody's guess.  The Anthony's do not appear to have any close friends or family in their corner.  There has to be a reason for that.

I am off.

Gun Taken From Anthony Home
Saturday, September 06, 2008 2:05:01 PM

ORLANDO -- News 13 has learned a gun was taken from the home of the grandparents of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony early Saturday morning.

The Orlando Sentinel reported Saturday Orange County deputies were seen taking something from the spare tire well in George Anthony's car.

A spokesman with the Orange County Corrections Department told News 13 they received a tip sometime between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. Saturday of a handgun present on the Anthonys' property.

Just a guess.  It was between 9:00 and 10:00 PM in California.  It probably doesn't make sense but the chat that Klaas posted of Padilla and WS did indicate that something was coming down.
I thought that this might be something that the Padillas knew.

That's why, in a case like this, they all have to have different attorneys.

AIN'T NO SCIENCE INVOLVED HERE!

Marya, #2 says: LE says the hair in the back of the car could not be distinguished as belonging to Casey or Caylee.  This suggests common DNA.

The key word here is SUGGESTS.  No one is saying we have the DNA results or that we even know what DNA test was performed.  Law Enforcement released just enough information to place a suggestion in the mind of the public.  That's what #2 means.

Please, take the time to read the previous posts before posting.  I feel like I'm being ignored!     (that's sarcasm, by the way).

AZ - you're not being ignored.  LE did drop their bomb with an ulterior motive and that was most likely to stress out the Anthonys  That bomb wouldn't have been dropped if they didn't have something to back it up.  The Anthony would be all over them.  Those press releases are very carefully worded.  Paternity in this cae is very important.  I am getting very upset now because a few monkeys pointed out various types of DNA testing.  I also explored the various types of testing.  The mtDNA only reveals the maternal information.  Nucleur DNA tells everything.  For some reason many posters have now jumped on this mtDNA as fact and they are using it as a basis to eliminate the possiblity if incest.  I don't know who the father is, but it now looks very possible that it is George or Lee.  I tend to believe that there is a reason why the leak about the common DNA was made and considering the source, I feel that the incest suggestion is  probably pretty valid.  Many people read the posts at SM and the next thing we will hear is that SMs says that only mtDNA was performed.  I very strongly doubt that this is the case and it doesn't speak favorably for Orlando LE.  We know that they must have nucleur DNA from Jesse's paternity test.  Do people really think that Orlando LE would neglect to compare Jesse's tests to what was found on the hair in the trunk?  The incest leak was given out for a reason.  Leonard Padilla commented on it for a reason.  I know that incest is a difficult thing for many of us to get our heads around, but let's not assume that mtDNA was the only test performed.

LP said that LE talked with Lee, Cindy and Casey (not George) and that they know what evidence they have.  Seems to me that there was a major reason for the fact that George was not included.
