Its being called off due to environmental dangers. Its hurricane IKE

I've checked all the weather sites and they all say it's sunny and warm in orlanda.  small chance of showers

Everything I have seen says Ike is not going to be an issue until a couple of days from now, wonder if it has anything to do with alligators and they have to regroup?

I think it is just what was reported. Heat, mosquitos (they can drive a person nuts) and the wet ground problem. I can see them calling it off for a while. JMO

Do yall think it REALLY is because of weather, or do you think they are just saying this to keep down media attention?

I really don't know.  I don't think it has to do with the current weather so much as flooding from FAY.
He may not have a choice if directed to from the police and fbi until they confirm what they found
Yes and very freakin hot.  Tim would not go on TV and lie.  He would not have done any interviews, had they found something.

But they've been dealing with this same stuff all week. Why stop the search mid afternoon and on a day that they had so many volunteers? Something isn't clicking in my head.

JMO, but there's more too this I think. There are too many people out there searching for the weather to be a factor. I have heard of no complications from weather related problems to the searchers. There's also a gazillion places to check that don't involve standing water. This just isn't settling right with me.

I do agree with you. Sounds like she has possibly been found and Tim was upset because they found her.  He would cry for her and her own mother and GP's would no.

No. That would NEVER be withheld.

Why would that not be withheld?  a find like that could be any child.  At this point they would not know for sure who it was.  It could be the Duckett boy for all they knew. I would think they would want more time to see what they had found. (JMO)

Search For Caylee Called Off
Sunday, September 07, 2008 3:23:02 PM

ORLANDO -- Texas EquuSearch has temporarily called off its ground search for missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony.

On Sunday, the group cited environmental conditions and concerns for stopping the search.

Members spent last week searching with volunteers.  More than 1200 of them searched wooded areas around the Anthony home and Orlando International Airport Saturday.  Several hundred searched again on Sunday.

Search teams used dogs to search the area.

Along with local efforts, EquuSearch said it's starting a national campaign Monday.

For information on how you can volunteer, call Texas EquuSearch at (866) 473-1584

Just pure speculation here, but... what if  they found something?  They REALLY don't want that public until they can positively ID the remains.  Yet, what reason would there be to continue to put volunteers in harms way when they are no longer needed?  It COULD be a convenient way to call off the search without tipping their hand.

It could very well be that TES found something and therefore their search and part in this is done and now it's time for LE to come in and deal with it.

Then that is what should be said. Not attribute it to environmental issues.

It cant be IKE!

I agree with you. I have had the weather channel on all day while on computer and they aren't even sure if it will hit Miami area. At this time it hasn't even made it to Cuba yet and it expected to go into Gulf at least. Even the Keys residents have 24 hrs to evacuate as of this am and it was beautifully sunny there at the time and no big waves yet.

There might be a good reason they have called off volunteers out there. It actually might be a good sign and they really don't need word getting out at this point what it is. I just don't think the conditions there are a problem at this time.

The weather here in South FL is nice and sunny today. I don't think it's the weather, something must be up.

Could be nothing but about 6-8 cars have gone by within the last 30 seconds.

Someone at the front door, sorry but when you stare at nothing for so long and then a squirrel runs by, you get excited, lol. I figure the cares are either protesters or media.

I'm so glad LE will possibly be searching the Anthony's back yard.  I just hope and pray it leads them to Caylee.  Anyone else notice that Casey has been on her MySpace page again?

Ok... that was a ride....

Mid day in FL.  so the heat is up ... some people where treated for heat exhaustion yesterday ( Think I saw that some where)

If the searchers did find something  TIM / TES  will   NEVER  announce it.   THAT has to come for LE.

Some areas still underwater .. from FAY  ...

We will have to wait and see..

I dunno, I just remember east texas in the summer. Hot, humid, bugs, mosquitos, ticks, chiggers, humidity. Add flooding to that and it could become a problem.
But, it could also be they did find something.

The Sheriff was behind Tim while he was talking.  Tim looked so exhausted, he was a little emotional and continued to reassure everybody that they would be back and that he is not giving up.
There were alot of searchers today, it almost 4:00, they have workrd hard all week.
