13 years later, Jennifer Kesse's family says they'll leave 'no stone unturned'
By: Kelly Healey

Updated: Jan 24, 2019 - 6:21 AM

ORLANDO, Fla. - Jennifer Kesse was reported missing on Jan. 24 in 2006, and it's been 13 years since her family and friends last spoke with her.

Since Kesse vanished, there has been neither a solid lead nor a suspect.

Investigators said Kesse’s car was discovered at the Huntington on the Green condominiums, about 1 mile from her home near the Mall at Millenia.

"Jennifer, today we miss you more than ever and we will miss you even more tomorrow. Time may go by, but you are always with us in heart, mind and soul every second of the day,” Kesse’s family wrote in a Facebook post.

Kesse’s last phone call was to her boyfriend on Jan. 23. She did not show up for work the next day.

The mystery surrounding Kesse’s disappearance has prompted the family to seek out a fresh set of eyes to start from the beginning and hopefully find new clues. Her family filed a lawsuit against the Orlando Police Department in December.

Kesse’s family is asking the court to allow a private investigator to obtain the Orlando Police Department’s records on the case.

But Kesse’s case is an Orlando police investigation, and the department argues that information is not public.

“We have started the legal process to try and gain entry into police files on Jennifer’s case. However, that will take time to work through the court system. That will not stop us from continuing to investigate Jennifer’s disappearance with our own team of professionals - investigators and lawyers - leaving no stone unturned,” the Facebook post said.

In April 2010, four years after Kesse was reported missing, police “acknowledged that it had exhausted all possible leads in the investigation," according to the lawsuit.

Nevertheless, Orlando police claimed that its investigation remained active.

As Most of you know we have started the legal process in Orlando to try and gain access to the Police Files on Jennifer’s case. It has become obvious very quickly that this process is going to take time to make its’ way through the system and it will take a fairly large sum of money to see it through the process. In addition to the legal fight and truly more important is the Investigative push now under way in which our personal Private Investigative Team has started their process in the effort to find Jennifer. The Support you have shown Jennifer and our family has been incredible and invaluable. We thank you for caring and acting, we are deeply humbled.
We have made this request before and it is one of the hardest things we find we need and have to do if we want to find Jennifer. We would like to ask again for your financial help in our fight to Find our Daughter, Jennifer Kesse. If you have given a donation in the past we can’t thank you enough. We would ask though, that you please pass on the link to Jennifer’s Go-Fund-Me page, https://www.gofundme.com/help-us-find-jennifer-kesse , to everyone in your address book as well as your social media sites, we are in a desperate situation financially. All donations will be used for Legal and Investigative services only. We have exhausted our savings and Investments over the past 13 years, yet we are most in need now. We truly believe in the short time our Legal & Investigative Team have been working on Jennifer’s case, we are making incredible strides of putting the pieces of the puzzle together in locating her or the person who took her. It is a feeling we have not had in 13 years. It does have an incredible financial burden with it, which is why we must swallow any pride and humility we have left and ask for your help. Costs are running between $10-15,000 a month currently and conservatively, so to say the least it’s a huge amount of money for us to come up with. To date we have received a little over $20,000 in donations and we can’t thank you enough.
We truly believe we have the best chance of finding Jennifer ourselves now. The normal route has not produced any viable results. It is time to use unconventional means to an Abduction which has stumped our law enforcement officials. We will not give up on finding Jennifer. It is not in our DNA. A message tonight from Drew Kesse: “We have received our first set of Jennifer’s files from Orlando police and have started reviewing and comprehending them. It’s a tedious process. We will try our best to share what we can when we can, however it’s still just too early to get a real focus on things. We thank all of you for helping us get to this point and we do feel your support as we move forward in a positive direction.” -Drew Kesse

I personally do not share the idea of the human trafficking theory that is out there, but I do hope this new PI investigation will get the true answers for the family, bringing about an arrest and Justice for Jennifer.

I agree with you Nut.  I don't share the idea of the human trafficking theory in Jennifer Kesse's case either.  I do hope as you do, this new investigation will give the her family the answers they need and Justice for Jennifer.

BRADENTON, Fla. — After spending years fighting for the investigative files into their daughter's disappearance, Drew and Joyce Kesse finally have access to all the evidence from Orlando Police.

“We know how many law enforcement officials have looked at Jennifer’s case and have found absolutely nothing,” Drew said from his home in Bradenton. “Now it’s our turn.”

Jennifer Kesse grew up in Tampa and graduated from Gaiter High School disappeared from Orlando Jan. 24, 2006.

Her parents believe she was leaving for work when something happened. Police found her car abandoned at an apartment complex down the road but the person seen parking it was never found.

“We cannot see that person’s face, ever, in anything we have,” said Drew.

Years after Jennifer’s disappearance, Orlando police re-assigned a full-time detective to the case, but the Kesse’s never believed the police were doing enough. That’s why they said they're taking over the case.

“Every single second of every single day to us is frantic,” said Drew. “We need to find her and it’s just as urgent 13 years and 9 months later as it was the day after.”

Jennifer Kesse disappearance: New tip leads to search at Orange County lake
Drew Kesse says he's determined to bring daughter home

GOTHA, Fla. - Dive crews with the Orange County Sheriff's Office have spent the past two days searching for clues in Jennifer Kesse's disappearance after a new tip came forward.

"The Orange County Sheriff's Office is following up on a new tip, brought to law enforcement by the Kesse family investigator," a spokesperson with the Sheriff's Office told News 6.

Kesse vanished in Orlando in 2006 and since then, her family has fought to keep the search alive and to raise awareness on the case.

Crews have concentrated their efforts on the south side of Lake Fischer, next to the Braemar neighborhood.

Aerial images show what the neighborhood looked like in 2006, when Kesse went missing. Images show the land had been cleared for development, but houses didn't go in until several years later.

News 6 was at Lake Fischer Thursday as crews with the Sheriff's Office began their search, clearing out weeds, as Kesse's family, including her father Drew Kesse, watched on.

"Obviously it was a good enough tip that you see the actions of how many divers, I think we had eight divers at one time," Drew Kesse said.

He said the tip came from someone who saw the family's battle to get unredacted police records on the case.

"This (search) was seven months in the making," Drew Kesse said.

Regardless of what happens, Drew Kesse said he will continue to follow up on credible tips.

"We'll see how this works out and move from there. We keep going, we keep investigating," Drew Kesse said.

The 24-year-old went missing in January 2006 when she never showed up for work. As the search intensified, her car was found at a condo complex about a mile away from where she lived.

Since then, her family and friends haven't given up the search.

"Jennifer, we will find you, I will find you," Drew Kesse told News 6 in 2006. "I love you, we miss you and you will come home to us."

Drew Kesse said the family will stop at nothing to bring his daughter home.

"We're going in many different directions and if they cultivate into something truly formative, we're going to act on them like we did today," he said.

Even now, posters for Jennifer Jesse are scattered all over Central Florida.

The search took place about 12 miles away from where she lived. It's still not clear what, if anything, was found connected to this case.

Drew Kesse asked for residents to give any information they might have to investigators.

"We ask the public please stick with us, please believe in us. Believe in Jennifer and if you know something and have called something in before that you think has not been worked, give us a call," her father said.

He's also grateful for the tips investigators have received so far.

"I want to thank the public for what they have done and for what they continue to do for Jennifer and all the missing people they're concerned about. It's the public that solves missing persons cases. These gentlemen only follow up and put it down on paper and try to figure out what happened and bring someone to justice," Drew Kesse said.

A documentary about Kesse's disappearance is set to air on the Oxygen Channel in February 2020.

If you have a tip, you're asked to call the Kesse family tip line at 941-201-4009.

Jennifer Kesse Search: Search of Gotha Lake Ends With No New Findings
By Spectrum News Staff and Eric Mock Orange County
PUBLISHED 5:31 PM EST Nov. 08, 2019 UPDATED 9:49 PM ET Nov. 08, 2019

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County Sheriff's investigators ended a 3-day search of a lake in Gotha Friday after an investigator hired by the Jennifer Kesse family provided a tip.

The Sheriff's Office confirmed the search was taking place Friday afternoon at Fischer Lake. It's on the east side of State Road 408 and is just north of Lake Nally.

That search ended Friday evening with no new findings. Kesse's father, Drew, said the dive team concluded their search around 5:45 p.m. "with negative results."

Kesse went missing in January 2006. Police think she was abducted while leaving her Orlando condo. Her car was found days later at an apartment about a mile away from home.

Her parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, took over the investigation in October after settling a lawsuit with Orlando Police to get access to 14,000 pages of electronic files and dozens of hours of video. They hired a legal team and some investigators of their own to go through the evidence.

Kesse says their team has plenty of other leads, but they are still asking for help.

“The public has been incredible to Jennifer, but we still need your help," he said. "She’s not home yet, we haven’t touched the right person, and we haven’t got the right lead."

"We'll keep on working for Jennifer until we find her, and we will never give up and she knows that," he added.

Drew Kesse-
Today January 23rd , 14 yrs ago was the last time I, Jennifer’s Dad (Drew), spoke with Jennifer after her return from St. Croix. It is a fight everyday to try and locate Jennifer and almost uncomprehendable to us that no one to this day has stepped forward with the information we need to lead us to Jennifer or any person that can do the same. We love you Jennifer and miss you immensely.
Our fight will not end until Jennifer is found !
In keeping awareness as high as we can, the media has been stepping forward of late and there will be numerous shows, specials, podcasts, and cold case reviews for Jennifer. We will try our best to get that information to you when we get it.
The awareness we do know of in the media that we definitely know is;
1/24- Spectrum cable will air an extended piece on Jennifer in the ORLANDO and Tampa markets.
1/24- NBC Dateline Online will post a piece on Jennifer.
1/28- The Dr Oz show will air a piece on Jennifer, check your local listings on time!
3-13- Oxygen Channel, Up and Vanished will air a special on Jennifer.
We are working with other media outlets and will inform as we know more project completion dates and air times.
Thank you to all who care about finding Jennifer and will not give up either. Together we will bring Jennifer home.

IT'S BEEN 14 YEARS SINCE JENNIFER KESSE DISAPPEARED FROM ORLANDO

ORLANDO, Fla. — Friday marks 14 years since Jennifer Kesse disappeared from Orlando.

Her case has become one of the most prominent missing person investigations in Florida. Her parents, who have since taken over her case, have not given up hope of finding their daughter.

Kesse grew up in Tampa and graduated from Gaither High School.

In October 2019, Kesse's parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, finally got full access to all of the evidence in their daughter's case from the Orlando Police Department. The Kesses never believed the police were doing enough, even after the department reassigned a full-time detective to the case.

Her parents believe Jennifer was leaving for work when something happened. Her car was found abandoned at an apartment complex down the road, but the person seen parking it was never found.

“We cannot see that person’s face, ever, in anything we have,” Drew told 10News last year.

Police did release a grainy surveillance video showing someone parking a car at the apartment complex before walking away.

“Every single second of every single day to us is frantic because we need to find her,” Drew said.

Kesse's case was also the subject of an episode of the True Crime Chronicles podcast, in which her parents detailed how they've been searching for their daughter every day for more than a decade.

Anyone with information on Jennifer Kesse's disappearance is asked to call the Kesse family Tip Line at 941-201-4009.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Fourteen years ago Friday marks the last time anyone saw Jennifer Kesse, who was 24 years old, and her disappearance continues to generate tips as her family and investigators search for answers.

Kesse went missing in January 2006. Her car was found about a mile away from her Orlando apartment, but 14 years later, she has not been found.

Most recently, a tip led investigators to search an Orange County lake for days, but it turned out to be a dead end.

The tip was submitted to the Kesse family as they battled in court to get unredacted Orlando police records related to the disappearance.

After the search turned out to be a dead-end, Drew Kesse, Jennifer Kesse’s father, said he won’t give up hope searching for his daughter.

On Friday, he told News 6 he thinks someone knows what happened to Jennifer.

“The public holds the answer to finding Jennifer and we need those people who KNOW what happened to speak up NOW," Drew Kesse said.

The story of Kesse’s disappearance is set to air on the Oxygen Channel show “Up and Vanished” on March 13.

Anyone with information about the disappearance is asked to call the family tip line at 941-201-4009.

TODAY

America is facing one of its toughest times and we wish everyone only the best of health in the pandemic fight. It has no boundaries, it seems, and it is affecting most the world. We have lost a very dear friend to the virus as so many have. May science be of help and speed in creating an answer to our fight. Please practice good hygiene, it saves lives.

In these difficult times, it has been a challenge trying to keep the momentum going in a positive manner in our efforts to find Jennifer. The world basically stopped and the ability to continue with certain plans we had been working on could not be carried out. Even to this day we are having difficulties simply moving about to do what needs to be done. So again, our patience will be tested and the world will be different on the back end of the pandemic. Outside of the families of the missing, will anyone care any more? You have to ask yourself, how many law enforcement agencies are looking for missing people right now? Most likely none! Will it take years to build the awareness back up again or is it lost? Time and our efforts will tell. We hope that you still can find it in your hearts to help us forge forward in our campaign with a small donation. We are now at a point in time where our action plans will be put to task. It is now when we may not be able to say much about what we are doing due to the nature of the work at hand. If we seem silent to you, we are not. Moving on our findings is occurring and will continue to occur until Jennifer is found. It took a long time to get to this point and we intend to capitalize on it and we need your help in doing so.

On a positive note, we started to film an episode with CBS 48-hours and that will take until this fall to air. It is our second opportunity to have Jennifer’s story featured by the show, and we are humbled by them wanting to create a follow up episode. The Dr. Oz show we taped late last year has been cancelled 5 times thus far due to Dr. Oz's pandemic expertise, to which all his shows have been dedicated to of late. If they let us know of an air date we will pass it on.

Please remember Jennifer in these hard times. She still desperately needs your help to be found. We are continually amazed at the amount of people who have followed Jennifer’s case for over 14 years and still actively help us in our efforts. Together we will find our loved one. No quitting, no turning back, no backing down. We are moving forward in a focused and positive manner designed to produce results.

Thank you
Drew Kesse, Jennifer’s Dad

Jennifer Kesse disappearance: Newly released police photos suggest violent struggle
By FOX NewsPublished 4 days agoUpdated 8 hours agoOrange CountyFOX News

ORLANDO, Fla. - On a January evening in 2006, Jennifer Kesse chatted on the phone with her parents and boyfriend from inside her Orlando home before disappearing without a trace, stumping investigators and the young woman’s family who have searched relentlessly for her from Florida to Mexico and Russia.

Now, nearly 15 years later, evidence photos obtained by Fox News suggest a violent struggle took place on the front hood of the 24-year-old woman’s car, a clue the family hopes will yield new leads in a case that has long been unsolved.

"It looked like someone was thrown down on the top of the hood – arms spread out and then dragged back almost like off the hood to the point where you can almost see fingers scribbling down the hood," said Kesse’s father, Drew.

"The photos look suspicious and show what appears to be a hand mark going across the hood," added Mike Torretta, a former federal agent and private investigator hired by the Kesse family.

"We hope that by showing the public these photos, someone will come forward with information they’ve been holding onto for all these years," Torretta said.
