Years ago, I remember putting rat poison in attic of one of the places we lived in. Sometime later there was this horrible smell which can only be described as something had to have died. I can't imagine a dead body. A dead rat smells horrid enough and they are small by comparison. (That is why they say not to use the poison. The smell is really bad and lingers)

Frankensquirrel update.

9 hours.  Frankie is becoming worse for the wear.  He is now almost completely stiff with rigor mortis and moving his limbs manually is a real effort.  Rigor is not complete, but definitely getting there.  He is still not leaking any decomp fluids, and the smell is not abundantly apparent, but I can smell it from a few inches away.  Does not at this point smell like human decomp.  Just the sickly sweet smell of animal death.  No skin slippage or hair shedding.  He still looks like he's just sleeping.

Yeah, he is getting kind of yucky.  At this point, I'm figuring out a container (like a car trunk) to put him in for a few days to evaluate how long the smell remains and how potent it is even after I remove him.  Anyone have any ideas?  I want to put him in some kind of container for a while, then take him out, and  see how long the smell remains.  Does it fade away?  Does it get stronger by the day?  Inquiring minds, ya know?  I'm thinking of leaving him sealed in a container with a piece of carpet under him (like a car trunk) for a day or so, or a few days maybe?  Then take him out, seal the container back up, and see if the smell is as obnoxious as Casey's trunk was even two weeks later.

I already know he doesn't smell like human decomp, but now I'm curious how long and how powerfully the decomp smell will remain in a location he has been.

And yes, I'm wearing gloves for whoever asked earlier.  This is about to get really grim.

I heard today that my Yanks will not be in the playoffs, and with Michigan getting hammered on Saturdays and my Steelers getting hammered on Sundays - it's ruff being a sports fan when you're cheering for the wrong teams.  and the Pirates can't even win 70 games for the 15 year in a row

Just getting over the ramifications of "hurricane ike does ohio"--Let  me just say I have new respect for all that have been in harms way due to hurricanes or other natural disasters...Prayers that you are all safe and well and on the mend as well...

Still reading thru the docs we did get..but i am sooo drooling over getting those phone records and text messages...

A few things still out there in the wind....the patrick visit & this Mike (the lack of sleep comments sound like she is coming down off something and needs a fix...Mikey her medicine man?), whether these additional vehicles were searched (sure sounds like TonE's Jeep needed Elmo bubbles for some reason...hmmm), what the document was that lady cop swiped (interesting as she is MIA while they rifle thru belingings but globs right on to that like a vulture according to dirty shorts boy), the contents of that garbage bag (official version), and the Dante chronicles (wheres he hiding, what is he hiding, and why)...

And MY GOODNESS how many people had to smell the stench from the deathtrap to think gee maybe something is not quite kosher and call for backup...really people...the nose KNOWS..

Still sifting thru all this and its sobering...they just have to have her nailed on this---it has simply got to be some kind of tactic this delay...just not sure with all we have seen if KC will EVER talk...I think its gonna take someone needing Padilla's 50K for Christmas or sumpin to crack this wide open....I just hope Caylee doesn't have to wait that long...
