Here's what I know so far... her parents arrived last night and dealing with these people is like pulling teeth.

I have the someone in tourism helping me find her parents right now. He seems like a nice guy... his name is Robert, so he can't be all bad.

The polis chief is supposed to call me back in ten minutes.

That sounds promising...Good Luck Rob!

Mum,
Hopefully I can track down her parents by dinner time.

How many hotels are there on Bonaire?  I am interested to know the details from the parents.

The tourism sector in Aruba has suffered under the  Holloway case. Serphos warns of a similar effect on Bonaire. "There is reason for concern. Tourism is the main pillar of the economy Bonairiaanse, you do not want this to affect it. I expect not, but this course very well addressed."
The West House has not yet had phone calls from worried travelers.

Rob, great work! I applaud your efforts. Hate to sound sinister, but maybe they'll put forth an honest effort to find this girl because she is Dutch. They don't seem to care what happens to Americans on those islands. I hope this young lady is okay and they find her soon. Godspeed.

Didn't take them long to start worrying about economy. Deja vu all over again.

Marlies

As you may already have gehoort on the news, there is something very serious happening here ..

A girl from Saturday night to Sunday from her bike and dislocated abducted. Furthermore, we know absolutely nothing. I know her personally she only worked in the local pharmacy and a lot of people here know her so well.

Our Director Frank has taken us aside and pressed us to the heart will never be alone on the street to go! It could just stand here after this incident, unfortunately, not more.

Her parents sleep with us at the hotel and there is probably a lot of press tomorrow for the door and there we gehoort things about how we should deal with enzv ..

Probably people also get a bad image of this island and tourism was just emerging.

Hopefully this matter will be resolved as soon as possible!

I love you know!

Police have started a big search for 24-year-old Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe. She was pulled from her bike at 2:30 AM Saturday night/Sunday morning by a man who took her away on a dark colored motorcycle

The man was wearing dark clothes and was between 170cm and 180cm tall. This happened on Kaya Gobernador Debrot by the WEB installation. He disappeared to the east.

Police Chief John Schagen said this in a Monday evening press conference with Governor Herbert Domacasse and Justice officer David van Delft.

The search is being assisted by the Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard, who are providing aircraft to assist in the search. The plane flew search missions Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Schagen has enlisted the help of the Netherlands Antilles RST (not sure ... I think that's a search and rescue team). "The team will search the whole day through", he said.

Van der Kouwe was born in Curacao in 1984. She is 5'4", blonde, with blue eyes. Her parents were informed yesterday evening (Netherlands time).

Anyone that saw anything should call 717-8555 or 911.

Have they told the parents she'll show up at Senor Frogs for Ladies night? Break out the cornflakes?

Seriously, am glad they are putting out an effort THIS TIME. Of course they are worried about their economy, but maybe they've realized cover-ups are harder to pull off than they used to be.

Here's what I have found out so far.

The polis have found the bicycle and slippers (I think he means shoes) and some jeans. No one is sure if these are the jeans of missing Elizabeth.

I have still not found where her parents are staying but I have another phone number to try now.

also, there will be a press conference at 5 pm at the polis station... I'll call that now and see what else I can find.

ok, just spoke to a cop in involved of the investigation... he knows alot but can't tell me everything just yet... he is going to call me after the press conference.

They did find the bike, and one SLIPPER. Not shoe. It is a slipper.

I have also learned that there is at least one suspect, but the cop did not confirm that.. I learned that somewhere else and the cop was surprised I already knew that.

That suspect does not seem to be identified yet... or if he is, the cops aren't saying.

Didn't we find out a slipper is a flip flop...per Joran.

I asked if it was a shoe or sandal and the cop said "SLIPPER"... I then asked if it was some  really like a slipper and he said yes. He was searching for the right word and confirmed it was a "slipper". Maybe he does mean flip flop.

Also, finding the bike would not be that difficult since she was abducted and the perp left the bike where she was abducted from... and the slipper could have fallen off when she was grabbed.

I *think* those two items were found together, but no one has told me so yet.
