Have the monkeys sent condolences?  Don't know if it would be well-received or get a "butt out" response, but with all the support and sympathy I'm seeing here, I thought you might have.  I think the Netherlands needs to step in and demand that the police in the ABC islands be revamped for training, corruption and competence.

another thing, how many people have been killed over a hang bag? Not many cases I can remember... and you can sell drugs and make money. No need to steal a hand bag.

Funny how this Rayan gets out of jail, and there is this crime. It happens and criminals do what they do when they get out...

but there is also the chance that this is pinned on him.

two liars = the polis and Rayan.

impossible to know this soon who is telling the truth.

what i think Rob
Is that she was alive the first days after he kidnapped her
He did that before with another woman

I think you're right and she was alive for a few days, but where?

Rayan came back home that night and cleaned his clothes (so he is probably involved)...but where was she when the polis weren't looking and didn't care?

did he leave her somewhere with the others?

He can't be at home cleaning his clothes and Marlies alive somewhere else and not attempting to escape.

Either she was killed shortly after she was abducted or she was left somewhere with the people who have the black or dark car.

What did Ryan the next days ?
Was he at his work ?
I don't think so because her parents stay in the same hotel .vd Valk
I think he have some friends were he can hide her or her body .
I Have the idea that Marlies was cut in pieces and that he did that on monday.
He did this not alone
So told that Mother the truth ? I don't think so

Thank you so much Johan for the breaking news, I was afraid that it was tied into the mix up with the other girl, as it was initially considered, this is just amazing and how terribly sad, and WHY was her body taken apart, my Lord. What a terrible, terrible tragedy. I had hoped Marlies was being held captive. I wish they had held her longer and let her be. My deepest blessings and sympathies to her family.

Just an FYI that I am sure most here are aware of...  Drug dealers/cartels/etc., often use decapitation / beheading as a 'message' to others.

That's what seems fishy to me here, Nut. If, as his mother says, he strangled her because she fought him for her bag then WTF? You don't decapitate somebody you "accidentally" murdered. That's bullshit.

Hey Bro Bro. We'll know a lot more when a thorough DNA analysis is done. There could be evidence of gang rape, which shoots the simple robbery theory out of the tub. I agree with your assesment that she couldn't have lived for days without complicity of others.

WOW, stunning developments!
Lets wait and see what comes out the next few hours.
When he did confess they`ll surely schedule a press conference

Bastibro and Natalfan, how is this playing in Holland? Is there much awareness? I've asked Johan but he's so busy posting articles I can't get jack out of him. (lol, just kiddin' Johan, appreciate your great work.)

Yes, i think 99% of Dutch population is aware of what happened to Marlies.
At my work, i come in a lot of places, its the talk of the day.
There`s also a lot of disbelieve and incomprehension on the total lack of action by Bonarian cops the night they arrived at the place were Marlies was taken from . .

BTW Tomorrow there will be a press conference of Bonarian LE

Thanks Basti! I am glad many are soaking it up in Holland. (can't be good for tourism) Maybe between Marlies' and Natalee's cases the authorities will either clean up the ABCs or get the hell out. I understand that many Dutch would rather wash their hands of the NA and walk away. IMO, let Chavez have them, and the American ex-patriots with'em. I'd love to see Renfro and the Purcells in jack boots.

Please keep us posted on the news conference my friend.

OK, PIeters did not act alone, after she was taken if she was held captive and hidden, needed the help of others to hide her and keep her alive

and if she was not held captive, could he have acted alone in decapitating her and taking her body apart and hidden her body parts to bury when he could? Seems he might have had help from others in all of that.

Pieters does not look at all sorry, looks rather smug and cocky.

Was dismembering Marlies' body a way to make it SEEM like it was drug cartel, etc, ie to throw police off his and his friends' trail?

Or was it a way to try to scare people?

Or is Pieters involved in drug cartel unknown to the police?

If this was not a mix up with the other girl and Marlies was not kidnapped by mistake and not killed by mistake, makes sense to make it look like it was a mix up with the other girl and to make it look like the guys who are mad at the other girl's father who lives on Bonaire.

But could Pieters even have known about that threat to do something to the other girl?

Bro - what other reason is there to ABDUCT Marlies?

you know, I spoke to TJ last nite about all of this and he is very confidant "we" could have found her in the first week after she was missing...sense pain inflicted by those that killed her and the police who don't give a shit. The polis only cared when it looked bad for Bonaire, not because a little girl was murdered.

hey, Bonaire is only so big - why did it take a month to find her?

by the way - you all see those bio-suits the forensic techs are wearing?

THOSE ARE THE SAME EXACT SUITS I SAW IN THE ARU-BAY MISSING VIDEO. I know I have said that 1000 times, but it's as true as it was on 6-13-2005, the day that Just Me Pm'd me that video.

When they are wearing those suits - there is a body! I just want to know whose body was found at the rocks?

Murder case Marlies seems solved
22 Okt, 2008, 09:07 (GMT -04:00)

Marlies van der Kouwe

WILLEMSTAD – The murder of Marlies van der Kouwe seems to be solved.  Suspect Ryan P. has confessed that he has strangled Marlies, said P.’s mother today.

The 27-year old man said that he wanted to steal Marlies’ bag, but when the victim put up a fight and grabbed her attacker by the throat, he strangled her.  The mother says that her son made a confession before the police in the presence of his lawyer and her.  P. had also told the police that he had strangled Marlies at the location where he had pulled her off her bike.  He then transported the body with a motorbike to the place where the 24-year old pharmacist-assistant was found late last week.  His mother says that Ryan is remorseful of what happened.

The victim disappeared in the night of Saturday, September 20 to Sunday, September 21.  She was pulled off her bicycle on her way home.  Her remains were finally found in the mondi (woods) behind the Amboina neighbourhood last Friday.  Ryan P., who was suspected of kidnapping then and murder now, is in custody since four weeks ago.  He was transferred to the Bon Futuro-prison in Curacao after Marlies’ remains were found.  He was flown back to Bonaire yesterday evening under strict police escort.  To get more clarity in the case, the police took him to the place where Marlies was found on Friday.  Several media reported that where the skull and some bones were found on Friday is not far from where the rest of the remains were found.  The suspect is not allowed visitors, with the exception of his lawyer and the investigation team.  Such measure is taken to make sure that the suspect cannot frustrate the investigation by for example influencing witnesses, said the ANP.
