" But the smell in the car is worrisome.  That had to come from somewhere, and I do not think it was a squirrel.  "

If you have ever smelt this smell you cannot get it out of your mind or nose. Ceorge, Cindy and Lee KNEW what it was.  The beginning of the end.

Everybody knows where that smell came from: LE, George, Cindy, Lee, Casey.  Everybody knows!

I think Cindy and Caylee had fallen into a pattern of sorts.  Casey does something awful like stealing Cindy's credit cards.  Cindy gets mad and cracks down, makes threats, accuses Casey of being a bad person.  Casey blames her parents or friends or the man in the moon for what she did.  Cindy starts to feel sorry for her or to fear she may leave with Caylee.  Cindy makes excuses for Casey and they make up.  But the next time something happens, the same old cycle goes around.  If George tries to step in, Cindy tells him to butt out and let her handle it.  Sometimes George and Cindy are just too tired to do anything.  Or maybe they do not want to know the full extent of Casey's issues because they do not know how to deal with it.  And there is Caylee to think about.  So they get very permissive and hope for the best.  Casey pushes he envelope.  More lying, more stealing, more strange behavior.  Cindy gets mad again.  She tries some tough love.  Casey pitches a fit and throw up all sorts of things to make Cindy feel guilty.  This happens over and over and over.  Casey always wins.  If you can call anyone a winner in this sorry excuse for a family.  Casey starts to think she can get away with anything because her parents want Caylee to stay in the home.  Finally, Cindy starts threatening to get custody of Caylee.  George probably would prefer that not happen at his age and with their financial problems.  (I notice they ran to the bank when they got the incentive check from the government.)  But Cindy calls the shots.  Cindy threatens to take Caylee away and that really makes Casey mad and it all ends in tragedy.

George says he lives "with a very strong-willed woman" and that Casey is just like her, meaning Cindy.

Well, guess that makes him a major wimp.  I cannot imagine my husband or my father putting up with Casey antics for five minutes.  He talks about her bringing some boyfriends to the house without their permission and he did not like that.  Change the locks, George.  Did Cindy forbid him doing that?

It is Cindy's house....I'd bet money that he isn't allowed to make any decisions He mentioned Casey loved shopping at Target on Cindy's money...not 'our' money, but Cindy's money

Sunny

George had betrayed Cindy in 2005.  According to Lee Anthony ... his parents marriage was on the brink of divorce because his father had been conducting a longtime online relationship with another women..  There are been a brief separation.

In my almost 43 year marriage ... since I was 18 years of age ... everything has been "ours" but  ... if my hubby at anytime had given me reason to distrust him ... if my hubby at anytime had been unfaithful ... believe me ... it would be "yours" and "mine" ... mostly "mine."

My opinion.  Just because George Anthony "sounds" trustworthy in the audio of his statement to LE does not make it so.  If George can betray his marriage vows to the person he is suppose to love and honor more than anybody in this world ...

Janet

George said in his interview that he got in some trouble; had a hard time making adjustments; not to Caylee, but what his umarried daughter was up to (my words).  Gambling problem; probably lost his ability to have any credit cards and that's why they're all in Cindy's name now.  House in Cindy's name - maybe they had to put the house in her name along to keep creditors from taking the house when the credit problems got so bad.

Isn't it funny (odd) the chain of events we are now developing.

-June 24th- George and Casey fight over "gas cans" in the back of her trunk.

-June 25th- George and Casey are out following each other in family vehicles.

-June 26th- THIS SPACE FOR RENT - UNTIL NEXT PUBLIC DOCUMENT DUMP.

-June 27th- Car is discovered abandoned at the Amscot place.

First impression of George interview...his voice is strong and steady but calm.  Talking about Casey staying out until one or two some times, telling them she would be late at work at an event, had to lock up and make a deposit.  Details, details.

Cindy's birthday is June 5th, so she's a Gemini.  Not that that makes much difference.  He and Cindy had Caylee with them a lot, all the time that he was off, on Fridays and Saturdays.  He often made breakfast for the "little girl."  Casey sometimes took Caylee to Cindy's workplace giving some excuse.

Oh, they ask him about the stroke.  They are laughing and he says it is "just so bizarre, this is unbelievable."

Detectives say that she uses things that she knows, such as Grandpa had a stroke so she said that her dad had a stroke.  Sometimes she gives phone numbers for one person that are really phone numbers for another person.

He worked 3 to 11 the night that Cindy and Caylee went to see the grandpa at Mt. Dora.

He claims the next day, the 16th, he saw both Casey and Caylee..."I know for a doggone fact" that he saw them that day.  I find it odd that a guy would recall the clothing so completely and in such detail.  Most guys just do not notice things like that, maybe the general colors.

"You believe your child" he says.  He called Casey himself a couple of times to ask about where she and Caylee were and telling her she needed to take the car for an oil change.  "She blew out a couple of tires" in May.  He bought new tires for her.  Amy gave her the money for the tow.  The car had to be towed, and she had it towed to the Anthony home.

He says he really jumped on Casey about the car.  He says he could not understand the route she took to go to Universal Studio.  (Again, why didn't he just follow her or find out if she really worked there?)  Now, Casey told Cindy that she was involved in a big convention held at the Hard Rock Hotel.  The Zannie story about the car crash and laceration behind the ear.  The detective is clearly still amazed at all the stories Casey has told.

George saw Casey leave with his wife's car and he chased her.  Casey went really fast to get away from him.  He lost her.  Cindy denied any knowledge of this.  (OK this answers my question about Casey having Cindy's car.)

The gas can story beginneth...he knows Casey has stolen from him before, he told her he did not care if she would just let him know and put the can back.  He clearly knows Casey is lying.  That's when he asks her to let him get the wedges out of the trunk.  George clearly knows that Casey is a liar, he knows it full well, and it appears he knows that something might be amiss with Caylee, too.  He at least suspects it.

How can he and Cindy take up for her now when they knew, knew, knew what a complete liar she was and is.
I totally agree Hudsunn.
I'm not buying that Cindy and George are just in denial,that they are victims...nope.They are all 4(Casey,Cindy,George and Lee)are far away from being victims.They are covering for at least Casey.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Cindy's LE interview:
Cindy states that the only credit card Casey had and used was a JC Pennys card(The detectives still haven't gotten the list of purchases from Cindy,Cindy also told detectives she ONLY has a Pennys CC and a bank debit card).
In George's LE interview:
George states that they took JC Penny CC AND a Sears card from Casey's purse(the night Lee got Casey's stuff from Tony's)
They all lie,all 4 of the big people are lying their butts off.
Could this be premeditated murder on Casey's part?
I have thought that she probably just snapped and hit the child or perhaps was negligent and let the child get hurt, etc.
But now I wonder.  Certain things are starting to point to predmeditation.
She obviously preferred to party rather than take care of her daughter or spend time with her daughter.
In the IMs to Tony R., she said asked if he wanted "little snot nose" to come too when he asked her over.
She complains that spending a day with Caylee is more exhausting than spending a day at work.
Those two things show that she gets very tired of having Caylee around and more importantly, that Caylee is cramping her style with the guys.
If she obtained chloroform from somewhere, it shows that she was desperate to just get Caylee asleep and quiet so she could do her own party thing.
She tells Tony R. in the IM that the kid has "passed out."  Is that another complaint about Caylee being all hyper and then just collapsing or does it mean that the child is literally passed out from some drug?
If Casey was looking at escort services (and it may have been that some other person used her computer and looked at them) she may have been looking for ideas about going into that line of work.  Perhaps she wanted to see how such women set up their websites, etc.
Escort services require a lot of day work but mostly evening and night work, I would assume.  That is not the kind of thing that is easily done with a child in tow.
Casey may have seen Caylee as a stumbling block to a new "career."
Though some men may not want to date a woman with a child, it appears that Tony A. never complained about Caylee.  It is CASEY who seems to be tiring of having "the kid" around all the time.  Casey wants to be out of her mother's house and it is very hard to support herself and a child when she has no job and no skills.
Casey may even have thought that if she could make Caylee disappear, it would get her a lot of attention and sympathy and maybe even some money.  No telling what she thought.
But it appears she may have had a motive, especially after leaving the house, to want to get rid of Caylee but no desire to sign Caylee over to her parents.  It must have been pure spite, because Cindy undoubtedly would have taken the child and raised her.
In a way, Casey had two reasons or motives to get rid of Caylee.  1.  To move on with her own life as a single woman.  2.  To get back at her mother.
I have a slightly different "take" on this.  Cindy was bossy and manipulative.  She had/has George wrapped around her finger.  It is my opinion that the online affair was probably with someone who was Cindy's complete opposite.  I don't know anything about it (was there ever any physical contact?) but I think Cindy was wrapped up in her children and didn't have much left to give to George.  I am in no way absolving George, it was still a betrayal, but I can sort of see how he was driven to it by Cindy.  I don't think she's ever been a giver, she always covered for Casey, probably choosing her children over George long before any type of affair (if indeed it's true).  They all are known liars, so who the heck knows?  Not defending George, just offering another opinion.
As always Hudsunn, you make a lot of sense.
I think it was negligent and let the child get hurt on her own they walk away.
Like leaving her alone in the pool area then just walking away.
THINK ABOUT IT!!  WHY DOES GEORGE NOT DETECT AN ORDER WHEN IT IS CONSIDERED HOW CLOSE HE STOOD TO CASEY'S VEHICLE?
I noticed that too.   And Not knowing how long decomp takes I'm going
This is about a week after fathers day and about three weeks before the smell at the impound yard.
and I have asked myself... how much body fluid (sorry) would be needed in the trunk to cause  the "Wave" that Lee described.
OF
The following is my "Lee Anthony assisted in the cover up" theory.  I go back and forth between this theory and my "George Anthony assisted in the cover up."
However ... both theories imply that Caylee's body had been placed in a plastic bag and buried in the back yard since June 18th.  It was not until following this encounter with George that Caylee's remains were removed from the backyard burial location and ... placed in the trunk of Casey's vehicle.  I concur with Leonard Padilla's theory ... the the plastic bag either leaked or broke ... allowing decomposition to permeate into the trunk.
Janet
My theory needs some refining but ...
Ockham's Razor
You must never fail to adopt the simplest idea as your working hypothesis. If necessity demands, you can dump it later when you have more data, but only because it is no longer the simplest idea" or "entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity.
1.  June 16th ... Caylee loses her life through gross neglect or an impulsive action and therefore 911 is not called.  Casey's body is put into a plastic bag and placed in the trunk of Casey's vehicle.
2.  June 17th ... Casey spends the day contemplating what to do with her daughter's remains.  She drives to a secluded area near the airport to look it over.  She only spends ten minutes in that location.
3.  June 18th ... Casey backs her vehicle up to her parents' home ... borrows a shovel from a neighbour and buries Caylee in her parent's back yard ... the spot where the dog/s hit on.
4.  June 24th ... Casey returns alone to her parents home to pick up some clothes.  George retrieves the gas cans and "wedge" from the trunk of Casey's trunk. (No odor is  detected).
5.  June 25th ... Casey confies in her brother.
6.  June 25th   ... Casey and Lee come to the Anthony resident in separate vehicles in the afternoon while both Cindy and George are at work ... retrieve Caylee's body and ... place Caylee ... in the trunk of Casey's vehicle.  The plastic bag either broke or was leaking.  Nevertheless ... decomposition was released into the trunk .
7.  June 26th ...  In separate vehicles Casey and Lee arrive at Amscot parking lot later in the evening.  Casey parks beside the dumpster and ... Lee lifts his neice from the trunk and ... places her in the dumpster.  The stench from the leaking/broken plastic bag is by now  overpowering and ... Casey refuses to get back into her vehicle.  Casey's emotional state implies she drives off as a passenger in Lee's vehicle ... leaving her pocketbook in the front seat.
8.  June 27th ... following a search of the internet in regards to chloroform by Lee and Casey on Cindy's labtop ... Lee drive back to the Amscot parking lot early in the morning.  An attempt is made to clean the trunk with chloroform ... it did not work.  A plan to depose of the vehicle needs to be devised.
9.  June 27th ... later that morning ... Lee drives Casey to her vehicle ... groceries in hand and ... Jesse is contacted and ... informed by Casey that she had run out of gas.
10.  June 27th ... Casey's vehicle is towed away before Lee has a chance to dispose of it.
Oldfart, thanks for the question about why the Anthonys are behaving the way they are today?
It is a good one.  George, Cindy and Lee all seemed disgusted with Casey at first, suspicious of her and very cooperatived with the police.  They acknowledge she was a liar and that anything was possible with her.  But suddenly it all changed and they circled the wagons.  Why?  well, let me see.
 1.  BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER.  I doubt this is the reason, but perhaps it is.  Some people know their own family members are crazy or criminal but they still stick with them through thick and thin.  You know the old saying, "I can say anything I want to about my crazy husband, father, kid, sister, etc. but YOU had better not say a thing about them."
 2.  CASEY CONNED THEM AGAIN.  Casey started talking and made them think, well, there is a chance she is finally telling the truth.  Maybe she is now telling the truth, and if she is, we must stand by her.  It *could* be true.
 3.  IT IS JUST ANOTHER STAGE IN THE FAMILY DYSFUNCTIONAL DYNAMIC.  She acts out.  We get mad.  She blames everyone but herself.  We pamper her.  So what else is new?  Just moe people involved now.
 4.  THE LAWYER TOLD THEM HE CAN GET HER OFF EVEN IF SHE DID IT.  It is embarrassing to have a child who is not just a liar and thief but a child killer, I am sure. Maybe they just do not want the stigma.
 5.  THE QUEEN AND KINGS OF DENIAL.  Some people believe this, but I doubt it.  But there is an old saying, "If you never admit it is true, it may not be true."
 6.  SOME DEEP DARK SECRET THAT THEY WANT TO HIDE.  Casey may literally have something on them that she threatens to tell or they may know there is some dark secret that will come out if this case goes to trial.
 7.  DOLLAR SIGNS.  Maybe they started to realize, early on, that there could be a book deal or movie in the works.  If Casey admits to killing Caylee or if it is proven that she did, the story is not as newsworthy as it will be if there is no solution.  In fact, if Casey is found guilty of this, she would not be entitled to a penny for her story.  They have a lot of financial issues.
 8.  REFUSING TO ADMIT FAILURE.  All the glowing pictures of the happy little household.  Both Cindy and Casey wanted to present a portrait of love and warm fuzziness.  If Casey is convicted of child murder, all those little photo ops do not count for much.  And instead of being the Great Earth Mother, Cindy is a huge failure as mother and head of the family.
You must never fail to adopt the simplest idea as your working hypothesis. If necessity demands, you can dump it later when you have more data, but only because it is no longer the simplest idea" or "entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity.
2.  June 17th ... Casey spends the day contemplating what to do with her daughter's remains.  She drives to a secluded area near the airport to look it over.  She only spends ten minutes in that location.
3.  June 18th ... Casey backs her vehicle up to her parents' home ... borrows a shovel from a neighbour and buries Caylee in her parent's back yard ... the spot where the dog/s hit on.
