THIEVES ransacked the home of Anna Nicole Smith just hours after she died, stealing cherished photos and videos of her baby daughter.

The break-in, in which letters, computer discs, legal papers, and other sensitive material were also stolen, was discovered on Friday night.

Smith's boyfriend, Howard K Stern - one of three men claiming to be the father of Anna's daughter Dannielynn - broke down in tears after returning to the Bahamas house on Saturday. He was reunited with Dannielynn, and was being filmed by American television.

He said: "This is the only piece of Anna I have left." The US media have been warned not to buy the items.

Ex-Playboy model Anna, who married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall in 1994, died mysteriously at a hotel in Florida on Thursday.

The paternity of five-month-old Dannielynn is now a crucial issue, with the baby potentially standing to inherit up to £274million.

Photos show Anna Nicole Smith in bed with Bahamas minister

NASSAU, Bahamas -- A newspaper published two photographs on its front page Monday showing Anna Nicole Smith lying in bed fully clothed in a romantic embrace with the Bahamian immigration minister, who approved her application for permanent residency.

Immigration Minister Shane Gibson has come under criticism from the political opposition for giving the former Playboy Playmate special treatment in granting Smith residency in the Bahamas last year. Smith died Thursday in Florida.

 
The residency application was based on Smith's purported ownership of a waterfront mansion. But G. Ben Thompson, a South Carolina developer who once dated Smith, has said he had not given Smith the house as a gift as her lawyers have asserted. Thompson is attempting to reclaim the house.

A representative of Anna Nicole Smith's companion, Howard K. Stern, scrambled on Monday to control dissemination of items he said were stolen from the mansion over the weekend before he returned from Florida, including images from a computer taken from the house.

Ron Rale, Stern's spokesman, said in a statement Monday that anyone who disseminates any of the items without his prior written consent "will be held liable to the fullest extent of the law." Rale said police have recovered all the missing property.

Two photographs published on the front page of The Tribune of Nassau show Smith and Gibson looking into each other's eyes with their faces only a couple inches apart while lying on a bed decorated with pink flowers and a white ribbon. The newspaper said the photographs were taken in Smith's bedroom and that it obtained the pictures Sunday from an unidentified source.

Opposition leader Hubert Ingraham said he was looking into the matter.

"I'm making some inquiries," Ingraham told The Associated Press.

All of Smith's personal items, including the birth certificate of her 5-month-old daughter, whose paternity is being disputed by three men, had been taken from the house, Rale said.

Stern over the weekend reclaimed the Bahamas mansion along with 5-month-old Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. They had lived in the gated waterfront estate, known as "Horizons," before Smith died last week.

Stern said he is trying to keep Smith's mother, Vergie Arthur, who traveled from the United States and went to the gates of the mansion on Sunday, from seeing Dannielynn.

"She just despised that woman," Stern told "Entertainment Tonight."

"As long as I have one breath left in my body that woman will not see Dannielynn," he added.

Arthur told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she fears for Dannielynn's safety, pointing out that Stern has been present when Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel Smith, died under mysterious circumstances in a Bahamas hospital room while visiting his mother days after Dannielynn was born.

A coroner hired by Smith's family said Daniel died in September from a lethal combination of drugs, including methadone. An inquest into his death is scheduled to begin March 27.

"I do have a problem with her being with Howard Stern," Arthur said. "I had a daughter and I had a grandson. He was there when both of them died. Now I only have a granddaughter left, and now he has her, and I'm afraid for her."

Stern is listed on a birth certificate as Dannielynn's father. But two other men have challenged the claim.

A former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, has filed a lawsuit claiming he is the father. Arthur backs his claim. On Friday, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, the husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, announced that he had a decade-long affair with Smith and he may be the father.

The New York Daily News has reported that a manuscript it obtained says Smith froze the sperm of her late 90-year-old husband, Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, before his death and may have used it to become pregnant.

Since Marshall's death in 1995, Smith had been waging a court battle over his estate. A federal court in California awarded Smith $474 million, but that was later overturned. But in May, the U.S. Supreme Court revived her case, ruling that she deserved another day in court.

Experts say the decision of who receives custody could determine the child's inheritance.

Why did the owner take those items? Seems a bit odd...the baby's birth certificate, computers, etc. The police say they've recovered all the items now...

It turns out the "prince" who claimed that he could have fathered Anna Nicole's baby Dannielynn might've made the outrageous statements just to give the foreign press descending on Los Angeles some tabloid fodder.

Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, announced today that he would be filing a paternity challenge to gain custody of Dannielynn, according to the Associated Press. The Prince says he met with attorney Gloria Allred about the case, and that the affair has "deeply upset" the 90-year-old Gabor. "She definitely doesn't want a child in the house," says Von Anhalt of Zsa Zsa.

But sources tell TMZ that Von Anhalt is actually on the payroll of certain European tabloids, feeding them stories, and, in fact, that he created this entire scenario for them. "He timed it to coincide with the arrival in Los Angeles of hundreds of foreign media outlets for Oscar junkets," says our source.

Reps for Von Anhalt and Gabor could not be reached for comment. Gloria Allred tells TMZ, "I do not represent [the Prince]."

/b]The former Playmate Playboy, who was said to be "very weak and tired" following breast enhancement and repair procedures, was reportedly taking at least ten different kinds of pills to ease the post-surgery pain.

It has been suggested the 39-year-old died last week after taking a cocktail of anti-depressants, Valium, painkillers and antibiotics.

Some medical experts claim she had the operations too soon after giving birth to her five-month-old daughter Dannielynn.

Women's health specialist Dr Sarah Jarvis told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "To take so many different drugs is unhealthy. Some anti-depressants can cause heart problems after surgery. Valium can cause respiratory problems.

"If an unfit person has surgery and takes drugs, it's possible they would have complications."

Anna Nicole was found dying in her room at Hollywood's Seminole Hard Rock and Casino Hotel on Thursday (08.02.07).

No large amounts of medication were found in her stomach, but it could take up to five weeks to determine if drugs aided her death.

America's Star magazine has reported prescription medication found in Anna Nicole's hotel room included antidepressant Xanax, pain relievers Vicodin and Methadone and the stimulant Provigil.

Shortly before her death, she was reportedly complaining of nausea, headaches and flu-like symptoms.

Photographs allegedly revealing the inside of Anna Nicole's fridge were released by celebrity gossip website TMZ.com yesterday (12.02.07).

The contents apparently include methadone, hypodermic phials and slimming drinks.

However, it has been claimed the photographs were staged.

Pictures of Anna Nicole lying fully clothed in bed and embracing Bahamian Immigration Minister Shane Gibson have also emerged.

Anna Nicole fled to the Bahamas last year and was granted residency status, before giving birth.

It was claimed Gibson fast tracked Anna Nicole's residency, meaning Dannielynn was a Bahamian citizen and could escape the paternity battle in the US.

Photographer Larry Birkhead filed a lawsuit claiming he fathered Dannielynn during a two-year affair.

However, Howard K Stern - Anna Nicole's lawyer and lover - is named as Dannielynn's father on her birth certificate.

The paternity battle was thrown into further controversy when Anna Nicole's sister, Donna Hogan, claimed her sibling's dead husband, billionaire J. Howard Marshall could be the father.

Hogan says Anna Nicole froze the 89-year-old's sperm and may have used it to get pregnant.

Whoever is ruled to be Dannielynn's father will take control of Anna Nicole's estate and the £240 million she could inherit from Marshall.
