Annie, sounds very plausible. I'm sure he didn't want her to do the things she did (sleep with any man who was willing, do all those drugs while pregnant etc etc etc etc etc), and he probably thought that if he could just babysit her and keep her from doing anything worse than what she was already doing...God, who knows? What's worse than drugging your unborn baby and underfeeding her after she's born? That's child abuse and neglect in my book...

At one point Larry Birkhead posted his own baby picture next to baby Dannielynne on his website.  The baby did seem to resemble him, but I didn't notice the eye color.

Last night Larry King had on a (former?) friend of AN's.  I thought her spin on things was probably close to accurate, although she does seem to be close to AN's mother, who I do not trust either.  She indicated all AN's friends recognized her as an addict and were urging her to get off drugs, except Howard, who was encouraging and offering the drugs.  She felt it was through the drugs that he kept control over her.

I'm starting to believe that Howard was madly in love with Anna, wanted her for himself, but knew she didn't love him - as she was busy shacking up with every guy who walked by her bedroom.  I think Birkhead is the father...and Howard used the drugs and his trusted legal advisor position to gain "control" over a increasingly drugged-up Anna.  Once Birkhead and she had the falling out over her addictions, it was easy to turn to Howard.  I don't think he wanted her to die; I think he just wanted her.  And the money too.

Annie, I completely agree with everything you state here.  I don't think her purposely murdered her, he just did by enabling her and using bad judgement.  I've heard many interviews from friends he loved her and she really treated him like a dog.  But aside from that,  it is probably a blessing this all happened to save that babies chance at a decent life!
Now HKS has no choice but to give DNA, unless he plans on abandoning AN body at the morgue.

Court order expected on Smith's body
BY NIKKI WALLER AND ROBERTO SANTIAGO

EMILY MICHOT/MIAMI HERALD STAFF

The Broward medical examiner is awaiting receipt of a court order expected to be handed down in the next few days that will determine who gets possession of Anna Nicole Smith's body for burial.

''We are at a standstill,'' said Edwina Johnson, chief investigator for the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office.

This afternoon Broward County Court judge Larry Seidlin heard an emergency motion filed at noon by attorneys representing Smith's longtime companion, Howard K. Stern. Stern is asking that Smith's body be released to him.

Another hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m.

Stern's Florida attorney, Krista Barth, filed supporting documents -- including interview transcripts from television shows -- that Smith wanted to be buried alongside her late son, Daniel, in a family plot in the Bahamas.

Expected to file a counter motion at some point is Stephen Turnstall, the attorney representing Smith's estranged mother, Vergie Arthur.

Arthur wants her daughter buried in Smith's native Texas.

Earlier this morning, a California court vacated an earlier ruling that required Smith's body to remain at the medical examiner's office until paternity tests could be conducted.

Smith's ex-lover, Larry Birkhead, has been trying for months to get a DNA sample from Smith that would prove he is the father of Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.

It was determined that the three DNA cards, bone marrow and vials of Smith's blood that Broward County Medical Examiner Joshua Perper collected from Smith would suffice.

On Tuesday, Perper urged that the matter be resolved quickly so that she could be embalmed.

Smith died Thursday in her two-bedroom suite at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino near Hollywood.

Smith was sick with the stomach flu, had been running a high fever and had been taking prescription medications.

No alcohol was found in her system. And no illegal narcotics or alcohol were found in her room.

An autopsy conducted last week could not determine the cause of death.

Perper said toxicology tests, expected to be ready next month, will determine if the TrimSpa spokeswoman died due to a reaction to prescription medication, natural causes or a combination of the two.

Smith was a Playboy centerfold who later had her own reality show.

Regardless of where she wanted to be buried, they should not release the body until he is forced to give DNA for paternity.  I think she should be buried with her son, if that were her wishes.  But DON"T release her until he submits DNA!

I still agree with you AnnieMW1 Very Happy

I remember watching a few episodes of her reality show -- I think about 10 years ago. (I admit it -- I watched a few episodes)

To me -- it was obvious that Howard idolized her. Even back then. And she was abusive and unkind to him -- even back then.

Howard and the woman on the show (can't remember her name) both used to stare at Anna like she was a goddess.

And it appeared to me -- that Anna knew this. And she treated them both badly.

I hope the meanness was an act on Anna's part.

I do believe that Howard is a 'hanger on' -- definitely liked being in the 'aura' of Anna's fame. Although I don't think he's very bright -- I think he realized that he would never achieve the 'rich & famous' lifestyle on his own.

I also think she should be buried with Daniel.

I am so sick about the way things are going. The baby needs attention from someone who can love her whether there's any money or not. She's had a very poor start in life so far. Shame on Howard if he went along with not feeding the baby adequate amounts of formula, and shame on any of the other adults who knew about it and did nothing.
AN must have been very unbalanced if she thought anything about a baby should be "sexy".

I agree... that is totally crazy to want a baby to be sexy!!!!

I feel so sorry for that precious little girl...
Every day when I get home I read this thread and every day another man who claims he could be the father has come forward....
I wonder who it will be tomorrow????  Rolling Eyes  Shocked

What a sad legacy to leave your daughter. Sad
No amount of money or fame can make up for the chaos she left this child to face.

I have a question about the Nanny comment.

Did this allegation  about the baby starving come before Anna died or after the fact?

If this  nanny knew this was going on , any responsible person would have reported her to social services or Dyfus..  Did she?  Or is she too just looking for her 15 minutes of fame?

Anna was out there but I think now that she is gone every nut is coming out of the woodwork and Anna is not here to defend herself.

This whole saga is sickening.

You are right to question the validity of the nanny's story. I should have said if the nanny's story turns out to be true. That's what I meant to imply, but I wasn't clear on that.
I just hope it's not true, because it's just too awful to think about if it is.

No worries PDh...

Hey, Anna may have been so whacked out maybe she did not have the baby fed properly...

It certainly seems to me that Anna surrounded her self with alot of people who sponged off of her...
It's really tragic.

Just hope her baby does not follow her mothers footsteps in any way, shape or form.

Did anyone notice on Inside Edition tonight ANS had a bottle with water in it at one time?  You don't give water to a baby that young.  She was probably trying to fill her up without the calories in formula.

CP I am just curious.
At what age do Dr's recommend giving a baby water?

Can the water be harmful to the baby, or just fill them up and then they won't want to eat their forumula...

If I remember correctly, not before 6 mos., but they really don't need it then.   They need all the fat and calories in the formula.  Of course the formula is made with water.  My grandson is 19 mos. and I seem to remember reading this as I was brushing up on baby care Smile

No water for newborn babies. This is so very tragic. A person with the means to care very well for a child and instead this (drug use, etc.).

I'm starting to think that AN may have been not only an addict, but had Bipolar Disorder, too.

And yes, she did treat badly the female assistant who was on her show. She made her go on an amusement ride despite the woman being quite terrified of doing so.

Some doctors encourage parents to gie their babies water right from the start.  I remember giving my own baby water from the time he was 8 weeks old.  There is nothing wrong with it as long as they are getting their formula too.

I agree too....Stern doesn't want to get his DNA tested because he knows he's not the father.  IMO.  However, she should get possession of ANS' body...he's been in her life for a long time, they were living together and planning to get married, they already had had a commitment ceremony, AN had purchased burial plots next to her son, she's on videotape saying she hates her mother.  There's no way a judge in his/her right mind could hand her over to her mother.  By the way, did anybody hear the judge last night on Nancy Grace?  What a DISGRACE to the legal profession.  It's so scary that there are judges out there like that - totally classless and seemingly stupid in how they communicate, with no sensitivities at all to the situation - who have so much power.
