I was really impressed by the Tigers when they beat my beloved A's - I have to go with the Tigers all the way.  But Jac if the Cards beat the Mets, you can join me up here in my tree.  I'm waiting for Tommy Lasorda to come get me down!   Crying or Very sad

Condolences to Jacqueline and 2NJ.  The Mets certainly gave it their all but when it comes down to one game, anything can happen.  Any World Series preference now?

Yes, brilliant catch and then the throw to first for the DP - that's good stuff.  Then the Mets had a chance after with the bases loaded but couldn't execute.  I thought 2NY was rooting for the Mets after the Yankees lost.  Anyway, I was impressed by the Tigers and usually follow the AL anyway, so GO TIGERS!    But wait til next year - GO A's . . .

That was some catch he made and then to double up the other guy was even better.  I thought they were going to win after that but unfortunately they didn't.  They had a great year the Mets and gave NY a lot of excitement.

A's, you are right, I said the tradition here is to root for the American league when Yankees are out...but also said I, personally, was rooting for Willie Randolph.  Guess I was a closet Mets fan for a bit. Laughing  Shocked

Sorry, Jacq.  They fought to the end, last night.

Last nights loss was a heartbreaker for sure. I have always been a very  big Mets fan. Wanted the Tigers to make it too, so I guess I wont have to make a decision of who I should root for now.....

To all the Cards fans out there congratulations and good luck..... I couldn't make this post last night as I was momentarily being a sore loser Wink

It's Tigers all the way for me now, being a born and raised Cub fan I just cant find it in me to root for the Cards....besides that is hubby's team... Wink

Hi Jacquie!

I actually stayed awake for the entire game 7. What a heartbreak -- but it was an exciting game (just the wrong ending).

That catch was awesome! Never saw anything like it before.

If the Mets had won -- I'm sure we would be seeing that catch re-played time and time and time again.

There's always next year.

So, in the interim -- GO BIRDS!!!!

(As a big basketball fan, Detroit is not my favorite team for anything Laughing )
