Evening Monkeys.  Lots of jumpin and swingin going on tonight.  I find George's behavior and statements quite contradictory.  I'm wondering at the reasons for that.  For example, he seemed quite heartbroken and somber before his GJ testimony, and stated he broke down five times during his testimony.  Today, he's proclaiming his granddaughter alive and he's searching for her.  If he believes she's alive and he's looking for her, then why the heartbroken and somber act before his testimony?  Why would he, in his own words, break down five times if he believes Caylee is alive?  This overnight change of attitude and words is very strange.

He had to go home and face Cindy and she gave him a new silly straw and a big old glass of the Anthony family kool-aid. He's been recharged.

Recharged or maybe reprogrammed?

The court will appoint a guardian ad litem for a live child.  This is not done if the child is presumed dead.

Thanks AZLady..I'll add that to my list of "legal things" that I know a little more about

George stated he doesn't think his statements before the Grand Jury made a difference.  I am amazed he can say this with a straight face.  I do not believe that the prosecution would have subpoened a witness whose testimony made no difference in the case.  They called just a few witnesses, fewer than six or seven, and every single one of those witnesses gave significant and important testimony or they would not have been called.  George is trying to belittle his own part in the GJ proceedings.  Why?  To placate his wife, his son, and his daughter, that's why.  George is playing both sides against the middle and he knows very well what he is doing.  He knew he had to tell the truth in court, but he is trusting the secrecy of the GJ proceedings to enable him to continue the charade with Cindy.  He can't keep this up.

I agree.  This makes more sense than anything else.

seasearcher~  wasn't there discussion previously about guardianship for Caylee?  It seems to me there was.

Knowing you guys and how many angles get covered here, there probably was..I'm sorry for bringing up an old subject

Sea Searcher
~ You misunderstand me.  Please.  Don't be sorry for bringing up an old subject.  I just think I remember monkeys talking about guardianship a while ago.  I don't recall much of it right now, but another monkey might.  You should ask the questions again, when there are different monkeys here.  Or one may come along and read and comment.  I wish I could help you more with it, but I'm not able.

It was discussed earlier and I agree DCFS should have appointed one for Caylee early on in this case. They dropped the ball, if you asked me.

I think that should be part of Caylee's law. That all missing children should have a guardian ad lidum appointed for them by the courts, to be their voice.

Cindy is the one who is really having problems.  It's been stated she is medicated, and her appearance this morning on Today did seem that way.  I just shook my head when I saw her waving that dress.  Cindy is like a caged animal frantically trying to find anyway out of her predicament.  She's grabbing at any small or peripherally related idea or event and trying to use it to see if she can just find one person to convince of her story.  Maybe George is acting the way he is because it's the only way he knows to deal with Cindy.

Thank you, pink angel.  I was pretty sure there was guardianship discussion, but couldn't remember the particulars.  I do know this was done in the case of Madeleine McCann.  And yes, I agree with you.  The children need someone to be their voice.

It's really sad that there have to be laws made to make people have common sense or they will be prosecuted. Kinda like the warning on the strollers to remove the child before collapsing the stroller.

Janet ~  I would like to thank you for all that you are doing. In just the past few pages, you've posted information and etc. and I've read it, but didn't comment on it.  I just wanted you to know I appreciate you, your organizational skills and wonderful way you can call up information.  And best of all, I appreciate you as a fellow monkey.

I second that.

I third that. I appreciate all you do for us monkeys, Ms. Janet!

AZ ... George Anthony made it clear prior to the Grand Jury hearing that his position had not changed in regards to Caylee not being deceased.  Cindy also made it very clear the George was not about to say anything that would implicate Casey in her daughter's demise.

Cindy Anthony: Grand Jury Is Political Move
Father George Anthony To Testfiy At Hearing
POSTED: 10:05 am EDT October 13, 2008
UPDATED: 5:55 pm EDT October 13, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- One day before a grand jury meets to consider murder charges against Casey Anthony, her mother, Cindy Anthony, is breaking her silence.

Anthony is accused of child neglect after failing to report the disappearance of her daughter, Caylee Anthony, for one month.

Cindy Anthony accused state attorney Lawson Lamar of seeking an indictment for political gain.

Casey Anthony's father, George Anthony, will be the only member of the Anthony family called to testify before the 18-member grand jury.

On the eve of that hearing, George Anthony said he is trying to keep the search efforts positive. He is helping the group Kid Finders in their quest to bring home alive not only his granddaughter Caylee, but many other missing Florida children.

"It's a quest. It's a mission. It's the rest of my life," he said.

George Anthony said he is not nervous about testifying.

"He doesn't want to, but it's not anything that is going to hurt my daughter in any way," his wife Cindy Anthony said.

Last week, Baez requested more travel time, allowing Anthony to visit sites to help her defense prepare her case.

Other motions include a request to keep Anthony's travel schedule sealed from the public, and they sought the preservation of DNA samples so the defense can conduct their own tests.
