I,m concerned about the attorneys that Casey has. They don't sound like they
should be looking after a very high profile case like this. If she is found guilty
there will be a reversal because of insuffucient attorneys. Millions of dollars will
be spent from a city that has already spent that and more. Will nothing be done about this before it happens.

Wasn't there discussion yesterday about Casey representing herself?  And then there was discussion that her current attorney doesn't have the experience to lead her case?  (sorry, can't remember the term).  Maybe there are changes in the works for her legal representation.

Mary, it's already been reported that Baez will not be allowed to continue as her attorney.  Not sure exactly how that works but the fact he's not experienced enough is already being discussed in the local media.  So hopefully something WILL be done before it becomes a real problem.

Goodnight Chuck.  I hope you get some rest.

So that was Chuck?  Hmmmm.

Who is Chuck?

I'm not sure but I wouldn't be too concerned about the way Cindy words things right now.  It really looks like she is medicated and so she may be misspeaking.

A few questions about LP.....

At first, most of us were very angry with him for posting KC's bond and getting her out of the "big house."  Then, he seemed to redeem his actions by becoming a friend to everyone...including NG....that doubted KC's innocence in this case.  There are times that I think he is credible but other times that I just can't figure him out. Granted, he may have inside contacts with LE working on this case but if he has insider info, should he be talking about it on NG??? It seems we hear about all of these new unwindings in this case from LP on NG and then hear nothing more about them.  I would think if LE wanted us to know about a trash bag with body fluids on the outside of it, this info would have been released officially by OCSD.  Personally, I think he's really entertaining to watch...just not always 100% sure about things he states as factual.  Anyone else out there feel this way???

Casey Anthony makes first appearance
Last Edited: Wednesday, 15 Oct 2008, 9:20 PM EDT
Created: Wednesday, 15 Oct 2008, 4:44 AM EDT

George Anthony speaks

Casey Anthony's father, George, says he has full confidence in attorney Jose Baez and Casey Anthony won't be defending herself. George spoke outside his home just hours before his daughter's scheduled first appearance.

He said he won't give up hope that Caylee Marie is still alive. He says even though Casey has been charged with murder, it doesn't mean those charges are true.

"This three year old little girl was never harmed by my daughter. My daughter would not do that to her, in my heart she's a good mother. This has taken a toll on my family. It's very emotional, you guys would do the same thing if it happened to you or your family."

SNIP

Yes, in your heart you wish she had been a good mother. But she wasn't.

I am wishing the same thing. But it's only wishing.

O Cindy, STOP kidding yourself and all of us!!! If KC was such a 'good mother' - in your word, 'the Mother of the Year' - then why did you plan to adopt Caylee?!!! I'm sure you'll not going to tell us, right?...Maybe you would give permission to your counselor to talk about?!!! Nope, I don't think you'll do it either...

Nobody doubted that Cindy loved (and continue loving) and care about Caylee. But the person who made these 911 calls and person who's giving interviews on TV shows are not the same person!!!...

Our best friends live south of jacksonville.  He is a big hunter and I think he said deer season starts at the first of Nov. like here in Texas.  Maybe some hunters will find something.
Bow season started a while back and gun season starts this weekend.  However the areas that they have been looking at are most likely not hunting areas.  But lets hope so.

NG touched on this tonight too and said there is no way a judge would allow Casey to represent herself on capital murder charges.

I don't know if that was just her opinion or not.

Legal Expert: Baez Not Qualified To Defend Anthony
Spokesman Says Baez Has Assembled Team Of Experts To Assist
POSTED: 6:16 pm EDT October 15, 2008
UPDATED: 6:40 pm EDT October 15, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- WESH 2 News has learned that Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, is not qualified to represent his client in a capital murder case.

Within 175 days from her indictment, by Florida law, prosecutors have to try Anthony for first-degree murder.

Anthony's daughter, Caylee, was reported missing in mid-July

The state has strict guidelines for who can and can not represent a capital murder defendant. Legal expert William Shaeffer said Baez does not qualify.

He's not been a member of the Florida bar for five years, criminal procedure,” Shaeffer said.

According to his spokesman, Baez is well aware of this policy and has assembled a team of legal experts to assist him including an attorney qualified to try a death case.

If there is a conviction, Shaeffer said by law it would be up to the jury to recommend a death sentence or life.

"It's highly unlikely a jury recommends life. A judge will come back and give her death," Shaeffer said.

Since Caylee's body has not been found, the state attorney is relying on circumstantial and what he called "cutting edge" forensic evidence.

"This prosecutor's office brought the first successful use of DNA to the American criminal courtroom. We're used to complex evidence and we're prepared to manage the scientific evidence in this case," Lawson Lamar said.

I understand why you feel ambivalent about LP.  Personally, I think it's wise to take with a grain of salt anything stated in the media by anyone other than the authorities, like the Sheriff or the FBI or such.  On the other hand, LP is a colorful character, and he has been in the "business" for many years with many contacts.  I enjoy listening to him and many of his comments have been proven correct.  We have yet to learn the accuracy of some of them, so I'll wait and see.  I do like listening to him, though!

BELIEVE ME -- Casey will not be allowed to represent herself in a Capital murder case. Never, No way, No how. Even Clarence Darrow would be brought up on appeal as "ineffective counsel"!!!! Baez is a joke! Some moron lawyer (like Mark Geragos) will take this case as a publicty stunt.
