Hi Monkeys!!!  I've been trying to play catch up but there's so much to read since yesterday afternoon. Interesting thought about KC's employment.  A friend of mine is convinced that she was working for an escort service.  The more I listen to my friend, the more I'm wondering if she's right.  Maybe that's one of her "dates" in the photo???   Any thoughts on this???

Time to review the post that Cindy Anthony put on her MySpace page after Casey left home with Caylee.  My comments are in parentheses.

[Subject: My Caylee is missing  (Notice Cindy refers to the child as MY Caylee, not my granddaughter.  This, IMO, emphasizes her feelings of ownership or possession.  Even more importantly, the word "missing" is used.  Cindy knew in her heart or gut that Caylee was missing or she feared it.  She also expresses no sorrow that her daughter Casey is gone from the house.)

Mood:  Distraught  (Here she uses a very strong word to elicit sympathy and to express great emotional pain and worry.)


“She came into my life unexspectedly, just as she has left me."  (Cindy later said that she and Casey had talked about Casey moving out, but in this sentence, she indicates that like the unexpected and unplanned pregnancy, the move was also unexpected and unplanned.  The term "left me" suggests a feeling of abandonment and great loss.)

"This precious little angel from above gave me strength and unconditional
love."  (I find it so interesting that Cindy looked to Caylee for strength, I suppose the strength to carry on, the strength to keep the family together, the strength to face their financial problems and other issues.  One does not usually look to a 2 year old for strength.  She also got "unconditional love" from Caylee.  Usually, we think of adults giving unconditional love to children.  Caylee answered two of Cindy's needs, the needs for strength and love, in a way that others did not.)

"Now she is gone and I don’t know why."  (Cindy probably does know why but she is not admitting it here.  Or maybe she just did not realize how much Casey wanted to break away from the family or how the argument on the 15th pushed them even farther apart.  Cindy may have been willing to overlook that, but Casey was not.)

 "All I am guilty of is loving her and providing her a safe home." (Here Cindy plays the martyr, which we all do at times.  Interesting that she uses the word guilty, though.  Guilt is on her mind.  Other interesting word is providing.  She cannot resist saying right away that she is the provider for Caylee.  Finally, the most interesting word choice of all...safe.  She does not say that she provided Caylee with a happy home, a clean home but a safe home.  The implications is that out of the home, Caylee is in an unsafe environment.)

"Jealousy has taken her away."  (After saying she does not know why Caylee is gone, she provides an answer.  Jealousy is the root of the problem.  Jealousy is to blame.)
 
"Jealousy from the one person that should be thankfull for all of the
love and support given to her."  (And now she identifies the jealous person, but not by name.  I think Cindy finds it hard to even call her daughter by name at this point.  But the meaning is clear.  She is talking about Casey, who is ungrateful for all that Cindy has done for her.)

" A mother’s love is deep, however there are limits when one is betrayed by the one she loved and trusted the
most."  (This sentence is just chock full of meaning.  First there is the deep love of the mother, followed by a warning.  That love may be deep, but it has its limits.  Then comes the accusation of betrayal.  Cindy is saying she felt that special bond with Casey, the mother-daughter bond, and it has been broken by betrayal.  There is an implied threat that her love has diminished or been taken away completely now.)

" A daughter comes to her mother for support when she is pregnant, the mother says without hesitation it will be ok. " 
(Here Cindy recounts the moment when Casey went to her and announced the pregnancy out of wedlock.  Casey was at her most needy and most vulnerable.  Cindy assured her that all would be fine.  Cindy feels that she deserves a great deal of respect and appreciation for that, which is true. But is it something Casey, who is expected to read this post, needs to hear?)

"And it was." (Cindy says that she told Casey everything would be ok and it was.  But was it really?  No.)

 "But then the lies and betrayal began. First it seemed harmless, ah, love is
blind." (This is a real contradiction.  How can lies and betrayal ever seem harmless?  And did the lies and betrayals really start after the birth of Caylee or had they been happening all along?  Casey concealed her pregnancy for as long as she could.  And could this also refer, unintentionally, to the problems she and George started having and the ways that he begtrayed her, too?)

"A mother will look for the good in her child and give them a chance to change. This mother gave chance after chance for her daughter to change, but instead more lies more betrayal. " (These statements are a real indictment of Casey.  The only way for things to be right is for Casey to change, and Casey never changed.  Cindy puts all of the blame and responsibility for their problems on Casey.  Cindy elevates herself here to something more than mother. She is judge and jury, too, and Casey must change in order for things to be OK.  She takes none of the responsibility for any failures or misunderstandings.  It is all Casey's fault.)

"What does the mother get for giving her daughter all of these chances? A broken
heart."  (She clearly states to Casey:  You have broken my heart.  You are a disappointment, a bad daughter, a bad person.)

 "The daughter who stole money, lots of money, leaves without warning and does not let her mother now speak to the baby that her mother raised, fed, clothed, sheltered, paid her medical bills, etc. "  (Here Cindy is angry, so angry that she brings up all the money that Casey and Caylee have cost her.  Casey does not raise her own child.  Cindy does that.  And Casey is a thief on top of being a non-provider.  Cindy really lashes out here, and it may be true, but is it at all helpful?)

"Instead tells her friends that her mother is controlling her life and she needs her space. "  (Cindy once again shows that she does know why Casey is gone from the house.  The first reason was jealousy.  The second one is that she needs to get away from Cindy.  And this makes Cindy really, really mad.  Casey is talking about her outside the family, talking about her behind her back.  Cindy has been snooping and some of Casey's friends have told her that Casey wants to get away from her control.  Later, Cindy will repay the favor by telling Casey's friends that Casey is a liar and a sociopath."

"No money, no future."  (True of course.  Casey has no money, no education, no job and no future.  But oh how it must have stung Casey to read those words.  She had probably heard them before.  NO FUTURE.  That is such a terrible truth.)

 "Where did she go? "  (Later Cindy will claim that she thought Casey was in Jacksonville on a job or on a mini vacation, but this proves she had no idea where Casey was.)

"Who is now watching out for the little angel?” (Cindy now says Casey was a good mother.  But this sentence tells us that she did not know if anyone was watching out for Caylee.  That is such a broad statement.  It implies that without Cindy, Caylee is not in a safe place.  Nobody is caring for her.  Nobody is protecting her.  Caylee is with her own mother, and Cindy is horribly worried that the child is not being taken care of...and I really do not think she is just talking about being fed and clothed.  She is wondering if something bad will happen to Caylee.  She is worried about the very safety of the child and probably the influences on Casey.  This tells me that things had happend besides the petty theft and partying, things that made Cindy doubt that Casey could or would take care of Caylee if out on her own.
