Danforth Calls Obama Tax Plan 'Radical Change'

Ex-Senator Says Obama Campaign Won't Join Fight Against Voter Fraud

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Former Missouri Sen. Jack Danforth is calling Democrat Barack Obama's tax plan "a radical change in direction."

When KMBC's Micheal Mahoney asked Danforth if he thought the Obama plan was socialist, Danforth paused. He waited for several seconds before saying, he knows that' what Alaksa Gov. Sarah Palin calls it.

Danforth then described it as "very, very different."

The well-respected Republican served several terms in the U.S. senate. He's one of the most respected Missouri politicians in recent times.

But Danforth said that there is a difference between Obama's plan and existing tax credits eligible to Americans. He said things such as earned-income tax credits, which offsets the payroll tax, is different from the Obama plan.

"These are done for a purpose," Danforth said. "What's never been done is taking money from Peter to give to Paul for no other reason than to redistribute wealth."

Danforth also complained the Obama campaign has never stepped up to join the McCain campaign to fight potential vote fraud at the polls.

I still think a good place to start to prevent fraud in the voting/registraton process, is to show a government issued picture ID, and current address.

Also, the ID should be verified to ensure that it is legitimate and only votes once.
