Yes, she was Aruban.  I think it was Arubagirl that told us about it.  I think the girl had some problems.  She along with her car went missing.  We discussed at the time the possibility that she and her car could be in the pond that is behind the VDS home.

IIRC, i think Bondia/Renfro said she thought the girl commited suicide by driving her car into a pond or the ocean or something like that. I always thought it was an odd explanation.

I think there is more political pressure here than is obvious.  Why did Aruba ask the Dutch to help?  Because Nel Oduber is between a rock and a hard place.  Fredis Rufenjol and other officials on the island know more than Nel would like, and he is being forced to ask the Dutch for help.

Mafia owns a large part of Aruba and the businesses there.  They have had the upper hand.  However, like roaches with light, they can't take the public scrutiny.  Had this case been swept under the rug, all would have continued as it was.  My guess is that the Mafia has long been in damage control mode, and they have moved their important operations off of Aruba now.  Aruba has lost their Mafia money, and their days as a pirate haven are over now.  Done.  Finis.

And, that probably makes it even more important that Aruba salvage their tourism -- it will be the only source of income for that island for some time.  They now have to play the game straight, like the rest of the world.
