This issue was placed on the back burner due to the 'race card' that Axelrod has been playing.  McCain would never bring this up.  The ads are being independently run.  527's for the Republicans have been virtually non-existent because McCain has spoken out against them in the past.  The game has to change now because Obama went back on his promise of taking only federal funds for campaigning.  McCain will not go back on his word and had to make the decision which topics he could afford to address in ads.
