A $5,000 retainer would be ridiculous for a case of this magnitude, even without the murder charges!  A friend of mine paid 5 thou retainer for a lawyer for her daughter on a misdemeanor charge, in Tampa.  JB has to be counting on some huge payments elsewhere later on - book rights or something.

If a client is found guilty, they can't make a profit on the crime.  Can the lawyer?  Her parents?  Her brother?   IMO - NO one should profit from this!

I just meant, where in the world would Casey get $5,000 plus more later ?  She can't even buy her own sunglasses.

IMO, we will get our answers when we find out exactly how Baez came into this picture for Casey.

It certainly was NOT thru Cindy and George.

When I was 22 -- I would not have had a CLUE how to engage a criminal attorney. And I never needed to.

It makes me think that Casey asked around about attorneys prior to her arrest.

Good morning Monkeys!!

(welcome back to Miss Destiny, you were missed!)

I found out why the Team Leader meeting is being held at Tabu Nightclub. It seems Mark Nejame, the Anthony lawyer is the owner of the nightclub and offered up the space for TES's use.

That's gracious of him, but very strange.

OMG.. whoever posted that Tiny Tim Nejame picture last night..

(And Klaas.. that one of him with the duct tape- LMAO!!  That duct tape looked so real!!  )

Tiny Tim was me, glad you liked it.

Maybe it's just naive thinking on my part but I'm interpreting the sudden warmth and interest in finding Caylee regardless of her state of being as an attempt by the defense to mend fences.  Somehow I think it has registered with the major players (or they have managed to tame the antagonistic beast) that playing nice will bring a better outcome.  Personally I think someone had a "tough love" talk with the family to help them see that non-cooperation was hurting Casey's defense.

I don't sense any attempt to sabotage the search whatsoever.  I rather think they are beginning to accept the inevitable and are now focusing strategies on how to best help Casey get the most lenient sentence.  They have to realize that the "not playing well with others" attitude is not going to appeal to the potential jury pool.

JMO, of course.

I agree!  Where would she get $5,000.00?  LOL Hope everyone who knows her checked their bank statements carefully!  Maybe she had one more of Amy's checks and she way, way post dated it!

And for Jose to even believe she had $5000 when she said she did and that she could get access to more later, based on her honest background - what a joke!  LOL

KC musta served that dude the biggest glass of KC Koolaide on earth!

Then again maybe they agreed on a trade of services, explaining why she spent six hours a day at his office working off her bill

Bud'sGirl
I think Lee came to the conclusions of what really happened before the rest of the family. That would be my reaction...disappear...stay out of the limelight because in the end it's foolish to continue thinking Caylee was taken by an imaginary baby sitter to a land far, far away.

This is my opinion too Lala's.... Lee smelled the coffee first, then George....

As for the dp... I think the state would be very unwise to pursue the dp if they do not know they can seal the deal...I will be satisfied with Life w/o parole....Let Casey spend the rest of her miserable life locked up thinking about what she did to Caylee and how it got her where she will be for the rest of her miserable days.....no shopping, no men, no clubbing...nothing to look forward to except a few visitations here and there and her big shopping day the day she gets to make her meager purchases from commisary....yeah, that works just fine for me...

When the board is slow, is there any trick to getting the new messages to appear other than the refresh?

TIA

I think I know why Des, because they WILL find the body by Monday.  Somebody with the Anthony's told them, I think George.  He doesn't want Casey to get death.  I thought he was pointing out the area on the 30th.  However, I'm still wondering what she was doing way out on Beachline Expy in the middle of the night, June 30, took shower at Jesse's the next morning.
