Q&A: The search for Caylee
November 8, 2008

EquuSearch continues to ask for volunteers to help search. For details, visit http://www.pleasefindcaylee.com.

Mandy Albritton, Texas EquuSearch's deputy director for the Caylee Anthony search, recently answered key questions.

How many volunteers are you expecting?

We are preparing for 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers. I already have 362 team leaders signed up. (At Friday night's meeting, EquuSearch said more than 500 potential leaders had signed up.)

Where will you be searching?

It's our intention to finish the 30 to 35 percent of the search area that we were not able to clear (during the last search).

What type of items or donations does EquuSearch need?

We definitely need food and water and willing and able bodies to come out and help us search.

How long do you plan to stay in Central Florida and search?

We will re-evaluate Monday or Tuesday afternoon and see where we are. We're really, really confident if she's in this search area, she will be found this weekend.

Dolce, I called a friend of mine in Pensacola who has TV ads.  He will say something and also send money to TES.  Also called another friend in Kissamme, she is sending money.

FANTASTIC!

Ok I have 3 local radio stations getting ready to blast the information over the air waves at the next break.

Publix is being less than helpful, I have to submit a formal request via using a form!

DOLCE - That's great!

I have called the Founder of Domino's pizza, he is a local resident here where I live and an attendee of my church, have spoken with him quite a bit over the years.  I let him know what is going on, and although Domino's are now individually owned stores within the chain, he is going to make some calls and see what he can do...he said he would give me a shout back within the hour to let me know.

Thanks Dolce for your efforts ....

I can understand hesitancy of businesses wanting to get involved this search because their dontations were turned away because they weren't pre packaged ...

Someone should just bring a grill and buy or solicit donations of boxes of burgers and hot dogs from Sam's Club .... Maybe some pre-planning for tomorrow?  That would be a low cost plan to feed a lot ...

LE asked that all food either be from fast food or pre-packaged. They would need a license from the health department to prepare on site food. That's my understanding of it.

Local water co's are next!  A great point to mention is that they will be getting free publicity as there are thousands of searchers, and loads of camera's filming and crews on deck!

Hi Everyone !!!  Barbie from TES here, AKA ZAP !!

WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF FOOD AND WATER HERE AT THE COMMAND CENTER, ESPECIALLY BOTTLED WATER !!  ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO PUT THE WORD OUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED BY ALL OF THE VOLUNTEERS AND THOSE OF US WITH TES!

Thank you for all you are doing today, all you have done in the past, and all you continue to do to support Caylee and TES !!

Zap- - do you need direct deliveries or donations of money?  Which is the best?

Probably right now, arrangement of delivery would be best - we are limited on the number of people here at command that can go get or arrange food.  Will post if that changes.  Thanks - can someone e-mail me at barbie.tarr@texasequusearch.org, and I can give my cell phone out for contact purposes?
Dolce  Not sure if you saw this..   You might have Barbie talk directly to Radio stations ...   JMO.... and great JOB
Each one was quick to tell me that I could not say it on air, they would do it like a quick "in the news" type spot.  The Christian radio station refused, said they are a not-for-profit station and can not do any sort of local "update" or "spot".
I thnk that is terrible no matter whether they are non-profit or for profit. There are people coming from all over trying to find a little precious gift from God who shouldn't be missing. I am beside myself right now but will pray for everyone involved and you all are great here doing all this. I am frustrated to only being a few hours away but have to go to work here shortly. For the ones who can't be there let's support and donate to help these people to have water and food.

I am proud to be a member of this forum......

I pass the baton of prayer to the 11:00 monkey angels.
I have asked In Jesus' name for the searchers to be given guidance and protection as they give of themselves today. I ask that it be God's will that today is the day Caylee Marie Anthony's remains are to be found. I ask that light be shed on her remains. So that she might have the burial she deserves. That her physical body be laid to a peaceful rest, even though her soul as been in heaven for 20 weeks. I ask that she be found so those that DID love her can have closure, and justice can be done.

This child has brought so many together, by touching so many hearts. She has brought the best of humanity to light. Each and every searcher is doing what God intended from the beginning. Reaching out, making their own personal sacrifices in order to help another.
Tim Miller has made it his life's work to find the innocent children, some lost, some whose lives were taken from them.  I ask that all of their good work today not be in vain.

Good Morning, Monkeys! I have been praying off and on for the searchers since I got up, in between drinking coffee.
Klaas, thank you for adding me to the prayer list. I will continue praying throughout this weekend, and especially during my time slot today. God Bless all those who were able to be a part of this!
Ole Lenny is doing his part... don't ever doubt it! Think of the number of fellow BH's who came at his call to help in this search. And I wouldn't be surprised if he donated lots of stuff for the searchers, food, water, things like that. He's not there just for publicity... he really wants Caylee to be found. Just my gut instinct!

Massive Search Begins For Caylee

Saturday, November 08, 2008 10:26:20 AM

ORLANDO --Possibly the largest missing person ground search in United States history has gotten under way in four areas of Orlando to search for 3-year-old Caylee Anthony.

Texas Equusearch said some 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers are expected throughout the day Saturday to join the search. They expect up to 8,000 searchers to participate over the weekend.

Texas Equusearch director Tim Miller told News 13 he has two people on his mind -- Caylee Marie Anthony and his daughter Laura. Laura inspired the creation of Equusearch after she was killed at the age of 16.

"I chose to change my life. Also, this is not something I would have done, could have done, if Laura was still alive, but I know what it's like to be alone, and that's why we're good at what we're here to do," Miller said.

The volunteers will be fanning out on foot, on all terrain vehicles, by by boat and even by air. Many of the volunteers are seasoned professionals -- including military personnel, firefighters and law enforcement officers, while some are just concerned citizens.

Searchers will be concentrating in four areas -- Blanchard Park, the woods near the Anthony home, 18 miles around Orlando International Airport and in Moss Park.

Texas Equusearch started the search about two months ago, but suspended that search because water levels from Fay became too high.

Equusearch's policy is to search an area three times before clearing it. Volunteers with less experience are trained to mark any area they consider suspicious and someone with more experience examines the area for clues.

Representatives from Equusearch said they have all of their best people involved in the search and that their goal is to find Caylee this weekend.

Volunteers should meet at the command center with their completed volunteer forms before 8 a.m. Saturday morning. The command center is located at the corner of Judge Road and Shadowridge Drive behind the Hertz Car Rental. Click here for a map.

Searchers can download and print the volunteer form from EquuSearch's Web site. You must be 18 years old or older to participate. No children or dogs are allowed. Volunteers are asked to wear long pants and walking shoes or boots.
