From a quick purusal of the web site, Alabama is retired, or at least they did a "farewell tour" in 2003-2004. However, they seem to still do benefits, and they also have a hurricane relief album.

They built a little civic center at Rainsville and do the June Jam free every year.  I hate to say this but am not sure they are that popular any more, seem sort of retired.

But if we can think of something specific, I will try to track one down and ask.

Think Lalas lives close to them as well.

Of course, the Commdores are from Alabama, Lionel Ritchie, and Kate Jackson, Jimmy Buffet and Alabama.  I think Jimmy Buffet and Lionel Ritchie are pretty much in the corner of Aruba, for monetary reasons.  Jimmy is much indebted to old Warren for pulling him off skidrow but Warren is off the deepend with a certain guy by the name of Gates from Microsoft who think they can give untold money to the UN and bring about designer people.  That is their aim, and Warren will not let old Jimmy have a heart if he ever had one.  

Bart Starr, who himself has lost a child, has always been the one I could call on in a time of need for animals or children.  He is a guy with a big heart.

I don't think there will be any news until the Dutch Team has finished their work. They are not going to go out for dinner with Joe T. and engage in backslappin' good ole' boy behaviour like Dolphi Richardson did. And take their cues from anyone on that steamy pile of CR&P of an Island. Or get Julia / ScubaJap / to " help"  .
We don't have all the statements. There are parts of Paulus's that are missing. Koen, Guidos / where are the statements from Steve Croes ? Where did he go after Carlos & Charlies ? What did Freaky Freddy have to say ? Why was Guido questioned so many times ? Why did he bolt so quickly from Aruba / Why was he declared a suspect in February of 2006 ? Why the " heavy battery " charge if his involvement was limited to the next night, the Monday, playing cards with Joran in a casino ?
We might never see any of the above information, but we have to wait for the results... any arrests ? Anyone in ALE prosecuted ?
Plus, there is " Deep Throat " . Patience is not something I have in adundance, but just because it appears there is no news, doesn't mean there is nothing happening.
Then there is the question of Interpol. What are they looking at ?

Remember when Dompig used to tell us to expect some major breakthrough in the next 48 hours and we would believe him and watch diligently for something to happen of importance in finding Natalee?

Then nothing would happen but it had backed people off the investigation and taken the pressure off ALE at least for the moment.  Remember Karin Janssen saying to expect "fireworks" soon, etc.?

Do they to this to toy with us and with Natalee's family and only pretend "the case is moving forward" when in fact they are doing nothing at all?  

I think so.     If it had been moving forward every time they said it was, it would have been resolved long ago.  

Now I wonder if this "cold case" team is just more of that for they have been telling us it would start just any time and if it has, we do not now about it.  The size and scope seems to shrink as we go along, too.  Now we are down to one person reading the file???

What happened to guns ablazin, independent, can do anything and question anybody?  Turns out to be one person reading a file???

I can't even look at Joran without wanting to reach inside the tv or the computer and smack him upside the head. Ditto for any of the Sloots.
I read back yesterday and in the first ten days, it was all there for all to see. But when the investigator, Dennis Jacobs says " they had nothing to do with it " and then conducts his investigation accordingly, well, there never was a chance for justice for Natalee. And he said that early on to Dave.
The Aruban ALE and their " justice " system were the barrier to solving the case and bringing justice to the HT family. Criminals lie, but what about the Ale and the rest of them ? what was their excuse ?
All that chit about Natalee and anyone one else who went there to search was just a smokscreen to deflect the atttention elsewhere. Anyone who went there to assist was trashed, their motives questioned and why ?
There wasn't one American who went to Aruba who was exempt from the trashing. Everyone went there for the money, ??? , to advance their careeers and to drink 24/7 and have a lovely time in the garbage dump. Yup !
