Every time Jose Baez opens his mouth another prisoner gets a new cellmate. (kinda like how an angel gets its wings when you ring a bell, only -- different.)

I swear the man is a dweeb of epic proportions. Did you see the way he walked up to the bench toward the end? The bailiff on Judy Judy would have been having none of that.

OMG I LOVE Judge Judy!!  Thanks for that pic.  I can just see her shaking her head and looking over at her bailiff.  ahahaha!

Can you imagine this case in her court?  She'd have it all wrapped up in 5 minutes flat... next case!

I read on another site that Casey was involved in an Escort service posting on Craig's list McCandles....  and that Jose Baez was involved also with this escort service.

didn't know if anyone had heard about Jose's supposed involvement...

Interesting...I've always been suspicious as to how she found JB..not buying she got his name from an inmate...OK, I really am going home now...byebye

I'm sure that many believed Casey was involved with an escort service at some point.  I've never heard anything regarding Craig's List, escort and Baez being combined.

this may seem like a dummy question but,
why is the FBI in on this? They even have the hair sample?

It's my understanding that Cindy was not happy with the Orange County Sheriff's department handling of the case, so she called in the FBI.
well if she called in the FBI why did she say she was blind sided by them?

Cindy said they were not informed that the FBI were recording their interviews.

As we all know she has the idea tha anybody who doesn't let their eyes glaze over and swallow whatever trash she spouts out as gospel truth is giving her the bums rush. She has always been able to out yell and intimidate her way thru life, but now in the big harsh world of homicide and US justice procedures, it's beginning to all pile up. How many groups and people can she accuse and blame for this mess?  Her daughter's evil sin is cause for an entire conspiracy??  right...  not in a million years could the anthony family circus be that important.

Was Baez possibly one of her "clients?"  I heard also that she got his name from another inmate but then I heard that she had his business card all along.  hmmm...

Also is Annie Downing's statement being withheld?  Is her testimony going to be the "smoking gun?"

Thanks for all the answers on the ID, you all have my mind rolling now.

I've only read bits and pieces today, so if this has been posted already, I apologize.  This snipet came out of a story about a murdering mother in Iowa, thought the stats and statements were interesting  http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/11/25/kehoe.mom.charged/index.html

Cases of mothers who kill their children, like Susan Smith and Andrea Yates, continue to fascinate the public, even as the rates of filicide -- the act of a parent who kills his or her own child -- have remained fairly stable.

"Because these cases are so tragic, they pull at your heartstrings, but they happen all the time," said Laurie Levenson, a professor at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California.

In 2005, 555 children under the age of five were victims of homicide, compared with 544 in 1976. The rate peaked in 1991 at 778 and bottomed out in 1971 at 511, according to statistics from the Department of Justice.

Another fairly stable statistic: In more than 50 percent of child homicides, the killer is a parent.

"The natural defense to anticipate is insanity because why would a mother kill her own child?" Levenson asked. "It certainly can be insanity, but it's not always the case. Perfectly sane people can do horrible things and they do, every day."

Mothers can be motivated to kill their children by several factors, according to criminologist James Alan Fox, Lipman Family professor of criminal justice at Northeastern University.

Some act on genuine psychotic delusions, as jurors determined to be the case with Texas mother Andrea Yates, who told doctors she drowned her five children because God told her to do so. Others can be motivated by selfish reasons: Susan Smith's alleged motive for killing her children was that she perceived them to be an obstacle in her relationship with her boyfriend.

"It's a crazy thing to do but crazy describes the behavior, not the mind," said Fox, adding that between 300 and 350 children have been homicide victims in 2008.

"It doesn't make sense to most of us, but that doesn't mean the state of mind of the person is mentally ill. You may know what you're doing and have very selfish motivations," he explained.

O/T JUST FOR A MOMENT!!

My husband & I have purchased a registered Golden Retriever puppy for our granddaughters for Christmas. We will be driving out of state tomorrow to pick him up. Has anyone here ever had a Golden Retriever? We are hoping this breed will be great for 2 little girls. The only breed we have ever had is Siberian Husky.

I'm just trying to catch up today and saw your post. I have 2 Goldens and they are the most LOVEABLE dogs in the world. My Katie is 9 years old and my Harley is 4 years old. My husband and I sit everynite after supper and watch the two of them play wrestle. They are high maintenance as puppies, but are the best family dog. Harley thinks he is still a pup and will crawl up on your lap all the time......I just love mine to death.......

FBI Investigating Email That Could Land Cindy Anthony In Jail

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

ORANGE COUNTY, fla. -- The FBI is investigating an email, obtained only by Eyewitness News, and legal experts say what's in it could land Cindy Anthony in a jail cell for obstructing justice.

If the FBI finds the email is legit, it could prove Cindy was deliberately hiding evidence from detectives and, while Eyewitness News investigates the possible cover-up, the state wants the Anthony family to shut up.

When Eyewitness News obtained an email from Larry Garrison (read the email), it was handed over to the FBI because of the explosive evidence inside. The email says Cindy gave investigators the wrong hairbrush when they asked for Caylee's brush to compare DNA from her hair to the hair they found in Casey's trunk, where it smelled of death.

Eyewitness News told the FBI about it and now they're investigating whether Cindy has tried to sabotage the investigation.

Cindy Anthony tries to give the appearance that she's cooperating with investigators, but Eyewitness News has learned she and her husband George have been stalling for weeks to answer their follow-up questions in the investigation.

Then Tuesday, a controversial email surfaced. It appears that the Anthonys' former spokesman, Larry Garrison, says he confronted Cindy by email about why she gave Casey's hairbrush, instead of Caylee's hairbrush, to investigators who wanted a DNA sample.

Garrison said Cindy's emailed response was: "I never lied. I just never went to my bathroom to get the hairbrush that I used only for Caylee."

Eyewitness News passed the email along to FBI Special Agent Nick Savage, who told Eyewitness News Tuesday: "The appropriate weight will be given to this like all other information received. Law enforcement will address this matter as it relates to the investigation."

Eyewitness News legal analyst Bill Scheaffer told Eyewitness News the obstruction of justice statute could apply.

It is unlikely the Anthonys would be charged since they lost their granddaughter, but the issues could affect their credibility if they try to defend Casey in court.

So is this "obstructing justice?" Eyewitness News looked up the legal definition. It says, if someone withholds testimony, a record, document or another object from an official investigation, it could be considered obstruction.

CAYLEE'S GRANDPARENTS HOLD PRAYER VIGIL

Caylee Anthony's grandparents held a prayer vigil at an Orange County church Sunday night. Supporters of George and Cindy Anthony gathered as they often do for a prayer vigil at Eastside Baptist Church.

The vigil comes days after recorded interviews with the FBI and George and Cindy Anthony were released. In the interviews, George made a telling statement about the smell in the trunk of Casey's car.

Eyewitness News asked the family spokesperson, Michelle Bart, about the statement made by George, but she would not reveal anything.

"I have no comment for that," she said.

George and Cindy Anthony didn't want to speak with Eyewitness News, but the family spokesperson wanted to focus on a photo that she says was taken inside the Florida Mall last week, which they believe could be Caylee (see photo).

"We are clinging onto hope because we do believe the witness and we do know that she did dial 911 and the tip line and then had to call our number from the website," Bart said.

However, the Orange County Sheriff's Office has been saying for weeks that Caylee is dead and has discredited the photo.

I missed the hearing today. All I heard was that the judge is holding off ruling about the gag order until tomorrow. But I am looking at images here: http://www.wftv.com/slideshow/news/18145117/detail.html

I saved a few:

Good to see Yuri is getting around and made it to the hearing.

Some monkeys noted that Baez is not wearing a wedding ring.

A photo some monkeys have had fun with. (Have you ever seen anyone raise their hand in court?) LOL
