Frank, I agree with you.  He is at the end of his rope.  He is young after all and he wants to cleanse his mind, his heart, and sleep, sweet sleep, sweet peaceful sleep but Paulus is the one whose burden Joran is carrying.  Was the man at the table the man to whom he sold Natalee, the man who looked like Paulus?  Was the phone call to Bill at the Marriott, the call that was made that the sale was good.  Oh, if he intended to sell a soul, he knew immediately when he met this bevy of blonds that he had a bird in the hand.  If this went down anyway near what he said, the man was at the HI that evening, he gave the nod to the dealer and the dealer relayed to Joran.  No doubt, she had been scoped out and the man was just giving the final okay as to which one he wanted.  No, Joran did not like Natalee.  Surely if he liked her, he would become attached and he could not sell her.

Paulus made the sale.  Joran came in for the kill.  Paulus is the dealer.

The only thing keeping Joran from telling the complete truth is the guilt of covering for his father. I have no doubt after seeing this interview that he is desperate to cleanse his soul. The weight is too much and he would easily give himself up if he could do that without harming his father.

Next stop, and I say this without pleasure, is suicide. He will rationalize this as an act of valor.

Again, have we not exhausted the fact that he is a liar? He's covering for his father and every time you watch him you realize it's the adults in this horror that have controlled the pain, the judges, the dirtypolice and most of all Paulus van der sloot.

It's a battle between father and son, and one of the most sick situations I've ever seen.

Sounded like he has implicated his father and a handful of other goons on Death Island. Those strained relations don't bode well for Pustus.

Every time time they try to close the case Joran gives them another reason to keep it open. How do they not investigate this, Frank?

But don't you think he was waiting for the Kalpoe brothers to win their money from the lawsuit and they would give him the million, but that was taking too long, so he made this story up in the mean time for a quick buck, then before the ink dried on the check, said it was all a lie?????  JMO.

Joran contines telling his story.

How deep does this alledged plot got.  Greta bleeped and name and two police officers were paid.  He mentioned ones name and he can't think of the others name.  They were paid off in the summer and were paid off.  They found out the story and she was taken to Venezuela.  Paulus paid them.  He paid them $50,000 and Greta said each or they split and he said he didn't know.  Paulus told him.  Greta asked if someone tried to shake him down and Joran said yeah it happened.  They keep bleeping the names.  Paulus told him it was serious and told him to keep his mouth shut.  Joran learned this while he was still in jail and he had private conversation way later.  He thinks there might be someone else was paid off.

She keeps saying "they" and how did they learn it.

"They" never interrogated him in jail.

So how does Hans Mos squirm out of this without investigating it?

COSBY: Now, did Joran—we‘ve heard from the family, Chief, that—you know, that Joran was claiming in some statement that she was going in and out of consciousness. Have you seen that anywhere?

going to take?

GEROLD DOMPIG, ARUBAN DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF: Yes. That’s definitely in the statements, and that‘s why we were kind of disappointed when the judge didn‘t accept that because that‘s basically a Felony in Aruba. We think that what happened was that the judge just didn‘t buy it the way—because Joran went back and forth with his statements, and he withdrew two statements which he had already given to us. So basically, none of his statements were really trustworthy.

ARLENE ELLIS-SCHIPPER, ARUBAN ATTORNEY: Well basically obstruction of justice is a criminal offense in our criminal code. However, there is an exoneration for family members in the first degree. So in the case of Mr. Van der Sloot it would not apply.

I believe he is a sociopath and feels no guilt.  He would kill or destroy all others before a thought of suicide.  He has no conscious.

This is a well orchestrated chain of events that has just happened before us.  I believe this whole thing has involved Peter DV, Greta, Beth, Her lawyer Bram?, Kermit (who else?).

We have the ships pictures, the evidence, the witnesses, Peter's sting, TJ Woods, Greta and the list goes on.  The hammer is about to fall on Aruba.

Am interested in knowing whether Greta's interview took place before Devries sex trade show aired, and whether Joran called Greta to tell he was lying after it aired. Two very similar storylines here.

Bet ya they will. Joran just dealt them a cruel blow in their lawsuit. It could be dropped immediately for witness tampering and the irony is, D & K could be charged with a crime!

How does "covering for his father" reconcile with outing his father's bribes and the fact that he refuses to even speak with him???

Could be his concern for his father, but after seeing him so smug so many times, I tend to believe he is very selfish and thinks of nobody but himself.   Which could be why he  said ties are broken from his family by his choice.  I just find him to cocky, smug and selfish to care about anybody but himself, but could be wrong....
